Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival Delhi - Haridwar (205 Kms. 6 hrs. drive)

Upon arrival meet our representative and drive over to Haridwar and check-in at Hotel. In the evening watch the aarti at Har ki Pauri. Overnight stay at hotel.

Haridwar lies at the footsteps of Lord Shiva's hills, i.e., Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttaranchal Pradesh. Here Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath performed penance to salvage his ancestors" souls who perished due to sage Kapila's curse. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth from Lord Shiva"s locks and its bountiful water revived sixty thousand sons of king Sagara. Continuing with the tradition, devout Hindus stand in Bhagirathi's or Ganga's sacred waters, praying for their departed elders salvation. The "Aarti" or the worship of the Ganga after sunset and floating "Dia" (lamps) is a moving ritual.

  • Day 2 : Haridwar - Joshimath (275 Kms.)

In the morning drive to Joshimath and en-route visit Rishikesh. Upon arrival at Joshimath check in at the Hotel for overnight stay.

Joshimath is a distorted version of the Sanskrit word "Jyotirmath", the place of the Shiva"s Jyotirlinga. It is believed that sage Shankaracharya established one of the four peeths (centers) for sanyasis here. Joshimath falls on the way to Badrinath and it is believed that Lord Vishnu resides here in the winters.

  • Day 3 : Joshimath - Badrinath (45 Kms)

The morning is reserved for your Pooja and Darshans of Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi & Sri Narsingh Mandir respectively. Next drive to Sri Badrinath Ji. On arrival check in at the Hotel and refresh yourselves. In the afternoon visit some temples, Mana Village, Byas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Saraswati and Saraswati River. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Badrinath, one of the "Four Dhams" is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of berries".

  • Day 4 : Badrinath - Govindghat - Ghangaria (23 Kms drive + 14 kms trek)

Start early morning and drive over to Govindghat. Once there, start trekking towards Ghangaria. Arrive Ghangaria in the evening, check in at Hotel or Camp for overnight stay.

  • Day 5 : Ghangaria - Valley of Flowers - Ghangaria (5 Kms trek per way)

Start early morning trek towards Valley of Flowers. Explore the valley and have a good view. Trek back in the evening to Ghangaria for overnight stay.

Valley of Flowers was introduced to the world by Frank S. Smith - a mountaineer, explorer and botanist who camped here for several weeks in 1937 and did valuable exploratory work. He authored a book called "The Valley of Flowers" which unveiled the beauty and floral splendours of the valley and thus threw open the doors of this verdant jewel to nature-enthusiasts all over the world.

In 1939, Miss Margarate Legge, a botanist deputed by the botanical gardens of Edinburgh arrived at the valley for further studies. While traversing some rocky slopes to collect flowers, she slipped off and lost her life. Later, her sister erected a memorial on the spot where she was buried by the locals.
