Shravani mela is said to be one of the most sacred festivals celebrated in the state of Bihar. It is around 15 days fair which is celebrated in the distance of 108 km. Pilgrims from all over come to be a part of this festival. The celebrations of this festival stretch from Sultanganj to Deoghar. Devotees wearing saffron clothes popularly known as Kanwarias cover this 108 km distance barefoot to collect the water of the sacred rivers from the bank in Sultanganj. This water is used to bathe the Shiva-Linga. The festival is celebrated in the Shravan month according to the Hindu calendar.
