Ballestas Islands Tour Package

We pick you up at your hotel or the bus station, we go onto the marina resort of Paracas where we board a speed boat. These marine crafts has all the safety features required by the Peruvian Maritime Authority.

Then and at high speed, about 24 knots, cross the Paracas Bay and then we have our first stop facing the north side of Paracas peninsula to watch "The Candleholder" figure. Here the Tour Guide on board will comments on the mentioned GEOGLIPH and it different possibilities of it origin. Again in high speed we cross from the mainland to the Ballestas Islands.

Upon arrived to the islands start up the tour. In the Ballestas we can find an unusual concentration of different species of birds as the Peruvian Booby, “Guanay” Cormorant, some Humboldt´s Penguins, Inca Terns, some mammals such as sea lions, rocky shores full of crabs, mussels, starfish and other shellfish species.

Also we observe the structures used in the storage, collection and shipping of "Guano de Islas" an element used as fertilizer in agriculture and the main export Peru in between mid IXX and XX century. The whole visit is accompanied by a guide who makes comments concerning the natural environment and the historical aspect of the place. Then we move onto mainland.

After landing we have some time at leisure before returning to the hotel.
