Day 1 : London - Brussels: Orientation tour of Brussels
After a warm welcome from your Tour Director we set off to cross the English Channel to Calais. From there we make our way to Brussels, the Belgian and European Union capital. We begin our orientation tour at the Grand Place or Grote Markt, the central square of Brussels surrounded by opulent guildhalls, the city's Town Hall and the Breadhouse building containing the Museum of the City of Brussels. During the tour you will also see the MannekenPis, Royal Palace, Royal Park, the Palace of Justice and the Museum of Fine Arts. Then onto a photo-stop at the Atomium, that was built for the 1958 World Expo, before enjoying a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 : Netherlands
Today we travel to Amsterdam, the financial and cultural capital of Netherlands and famous for its canals and museums. A canal cruise is the best way to experience this charming city. The glass-topped boats offer a spectacular view of vibrant Amsterdam. After the cruise we visit a wooden shoe factory and witness a free demonstration of the history, traditions and the making of authentic Dutch shoes. Then we move on to visit a cheese farm and take a short stop to photograph an iconic windmill, one of the most distinctive sights of the Netherlands. Tour dates before 18th May: Now we're off to visit Keukenhof, one of the world's largest flower gardens. It has more than 7 million tulips planted in the park over an area of 32 hectares and attracts over a million visitors in a mere eight weeks. All there to see the vibrant flowers â tulips, daffodils and many more, in full bloom.
Tour dates after 18th May:
We're off to visit Madurodam, home to a range of famous Dutch landmarks, historical cities and large developments, all down sized to a range of 1:25 scale model replicas. Then back to a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 : Ghent and Bruges -Back to London
Today we proceed to Ghent, one of the most beautiful cities in Belgium. The magnificent city centre clearly illustrates early Flemish architecture and the city's medieval might. Later we proceed to Bruges, an outstanding example of a medieval historic settlement. that over the centuries has maintained its historic fabric and where original Gothic constructions form part of the town's identity. Starting our journey home, we head north, back to Calais to cross the channel to England. As we drive onto our London drop off point, it's time to reflect, taking home happy memories of the beautiful places visited in the last few days. Memories that we hope you will treasure for a lifetime.
