Day 1 : DELHI - SHIMLA (365 KM)
Early this dawn, arrival will at Delhi airport or railway station, meeting us and then driving from the twisting roads to reach the summer capital “Shimla”, enclosed in the heart of the Shyamala Devi incarnation of goddess Kali. On arrival move towards the hotel for check-in and enjoy the stay with an appetizing dine offered by the hotel.
Derives its name from an incarnation of Kali, Shimla is a home to a number of Tudorbethan and neo-gothic architectures dating from the colonial era. For pagoda style shrines, rugged mountainous terrain, appealing snowfall and lovely weather, this destination is a blast to eminence among nature lovers and antic aficionados
Day 2 : SHIMLA-KUFRI-SHIMLA
Wake up this morning with the chirping of the birds and a hot tea, freshen up and have a crow-cock meal to proceed towards the in and around sightseeing of Shimla town. On the way, visit Christ Church, the Gaiety Theatre, scandal point, tumble by the colourful Lakkar Bazaar, and the Bandstand. The heritage lovers can also glimpse some British architecture which divulges some history of the glorious past.
In the afternoon visit Kufri (locally called as Kufr, which means lake) is a small green parish tucked on the elevation of 2622 meters, covered with snow and a meandering path through the potato plantations turns it into a popular ski track. After exploring the hotspot place, return back to Shimla in the evening for an overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 3 : SHIMLA – MANALI (270 KM)
After having a delectable sunrise meal, board your vehicles to proceed towards Manali. Enroute you will be visiting Hanogi Mata Temple. Known for its cool atmosphere, Manali is a perfect destination for nature lovers. Besides offering quite a few places for sightseeing, Manali is also famous for adventure sports like skiing, hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, rafting, trekking, kayaking, and mountain biking. On reach, freshen up and take a stroll to the surroundings. In the evening come back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4 : MANALI - ROHTANG PASS - MANALI
Get up early this morning as you are visiting Kothi Gorge, Gulaba, Marhi, Rohtang Pass (up to Snow Line in case Rohtang is closed due to snowfall. Come back to Manali, in the afternoon stroll towards the Hadimba Devi temple, a beautiful cone-shaped roof built on a rock which is believed to be in the image of the goddess herself. After visiting the shrine constructed in 1553, move towards another charming place known for its sulphurous hot water springs and Vashisht temple. Located around 3 km from Manali, across the River Beas, Vashisht is a hot water spring where water is believed to have great healing powers, which can cure many skin diseases and other infections. Here one can find Turkish-style bath houses which contain the separate baths for both men and women, fitted with showers. After visit return to the hotels for an overnight stay.
Day 5 : MANALI – CHAMUNDA – DHARAMSHALA (260 KM)
With the chirping of birds and crow-cock meal, bard your vehicle to proceed towards the Dharamshala, a tranquil and peaceful hill station lie at an average altitude of 1,475 meters above sea level. This splendid area is surrounded by thick deodar cedar trees, snow-laden mountains, exotic culture, and quaint old monasteries. En-route visit Chamunda Devi Temple, on the Baner River and 10 km from Palampur. On reaching check into the hotel for a tempting dine. In the evening you are free to sightsee the surrounding your own.
Day 6 : DHARAMSHALA - AMRITSAR (250 KMS)
This morning after delectable meal, you will be boarding towards Amritsar. On arrival, transfer to the hotels for your overnight stay.
Freshen up and then visit the stunning and sanctified Golden Temple. It is incredible sight, which has melodious architecture of the Islamic and Hindu styles. Spend some time in discovering the multifaceted of the shrine or you can enjoy a meal at the langar (community kitcken / dining hall) where food is assisted to all visitors for free.
Later in the afternoon, stroll through the delightful enclosed City of Amritsar, popularly known as Hall Bazaar. The boulevards have narrow path and here one can view the interesting and vibrant street hawkers, shopkeepers, traders, rickshaws and dhabas (wayside eateries). Each area has somewhat new to explore. Guru Bazaar, Mai Sewan Bazaar and Katra Jaimal Singh sell an array of jewellery, clothing and textiles, whilst Bartan Bazaar sells all sorts of tools, and Katra Sher Singh sells tea. If you peeping for shopping then Punjabi jutis (footwear), ladies salwar-kameez (especially the Patiala salwar), shawls and stoles, woollens and the traditional local craft, phulkari (colorful embroidered shawls and headscarf’s) can be purchased.
In the evening, drive an hour to reach the Wagah Border, which is the armed gathering on the India-Pakistan border between Amritsar and Lahore and a place where you can observe the border concluding show – ‘Beating the Retreat’. Every day just before dusk, elaborate 45-minute flag dropping ceremony, comprising of synchronized marching and shouted military commands, takes place between the Indian Border Security Force and the Pakistani Sutlej Rangers. This stunning show allures innumerable tourists every day.
Return back to the hotels for a stay or if you are not tired then, you can watch the Palki ceremony at Golden temple (starts approx at 2100hrs).It is the ceremony, which takes place twice in a day. Palki sahib ceremony is that when the holy book Guru Granth Sahib is carried to a room for night stay. This is an illustrative sign.
Day 7 : AMRITSAR - DELHI (450 KMS) 9 HOURS DRIVE
Early morning after cockcrow –meal, you will be visiting the Jallianwala Bagh. In 1919, the British under the command of General Dyer fired arbitrarily on a peaceful gathering of people in demand of freedom, resulting in hundreds of men, women and children killed on the spot. The bullet marks on the borderline walls bring alive the excruciating tale of the unkindness of the British rule. After the visit, you will be departing towards the railway station for your onward journey.
