When hikers die and go to heaven, it’s going to look a lot like Kandersteg. With its dramatic valley setting and surrounded on all sides by towering cliffs and alpine peaks, you’ll wonder how you’ll ever be able to get up to those lush wildflower meadows. But don’t worry—there are numerous cableways to speed your ascent, and put you right in the midst of this hiker’s paradise, with gushing waterfalls, clanging cowbells, and deep-cut glacial lakes. Even after ascending a tram to the high alpine meadows above Kandersteg, you’re still surrounded by some of the most awe-inspiring peaks of the Bernese Alps—the Blumisalphorn, Gspaltenhorn, and Doldenhorn.

Breathtaking Grindelwald
Set beneath the massive North Face of the Eiger, Grindelwald has attracted mountaineers, hikers, and international travelers for centuries. You'll find a wide range of options from wildflower hikes and waterfall hikes, to spectacular ridge routes and mountaintop vistas. We'll explore the Jungfrau region to experience the largest concentration of glaciers in the Alps and return to our 4-star hotel each evening to be treated to traditional Alpine hospitality, comfort, and fine cuisine.

Rooted in Kandersteg and Grindelwald
This tour is a new offering for Alpenwild. Unlike most of our other tours where you hike to a new destination every day, this tour gives you the chance to get to know these 2 villages really well. When you arrive you have the opportunity to unpack and get comfortable in your hotel room since you will be staying in that village for the next 6 nights. Hiking days are more flexible, but still deliver beautiful sites and rewarding trails. Plus you will get a free day in each village to shop, explore, do some more hiking, or whatever else you would like to do!
