Day 1 : Samdrup Jonkkar – Tashigang – Distance 180 km
Day Before a trip:
We will meet at Guwahati and will drive to Samdrup Jongkhar with a ride of 105km. And will do all our paper work here and stay in Samdrup Jonkkar.
We will start our ride early morning towards Tashigang. On our way we will travel to the curvy part of the “Heavenly Route” –the main and only road leading through the country. All the way we will be accompanied by dense and green vegetation in the form of coniferous forests. Tashigang, is a beautiful town in eastern Bhutan and the district capital of the Trashigang Dzongkhag. The town lies on the east side of the valley above the Drangme Chhu River just south of where it is joined by the Gamri River. We will be staying at Tashigang in Good/Nice accommodation and will be served with local food.
Day 2 : Tashigang – Mongar – Distance Approx 92 km
On our Way to Mongar we will see a beautiful monastery Yagang Lhakhang. Mongar is the oldest educational hub in Bhutan. Along the way, we beat one high-pass which will be truly spectacular in views. Mongaru road will lead pine forests of orchids and Rhododendrons. A scenic day all together. We will be staying at Mongar in Good/Nice accommodation and will be served with local food.
Day 3 : Mongar – Bhumthang – Distance Approx 198 KM
On our way we find ourselves in a scene reminiscent of the Alps. Before us only one pass – Thrumshingla at an altitude of 3750 meters above sea level If the weather permits, you will see Gangkhar Puensum (7541 m) – the highest unconquered mountain in the world. After traveling the pass we find ourselves in Eastern Bhutan. The road starting from Mongar lead us by by sharp streamers, writhing on the edge of the cliffs. We will be staying at Bhumthang in Good/Nice accommodation and will be served with local food.
Day 4 : Bhumthang – sight seeing
Bumthang local sightseeing starts with fascinating monastery
1) Jambay Lhakhang. This Monastery was inherent from the seventh century by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo. Its present architectural appearance dates from the mid-twentieth century.
2) Next head to Kurje Lhakhang,which comprises of three temples. These three temples are encompassed by a 108m chorten wall.
3) Next visit will be towards Tamshing Lhakhang which is located across the river from Kurje Lhakhang
4) End of the day finish with Lhodrak Kharchhu Monastery, situated above the main town, around 3 km from Chamkhar town
5) As usual we will be back to hotel in the night time. Dinner and overnight stay at Bumthang
Day 5 : Bhumthang – Gangtey – distance 145km
1) After breakfast we will drive to Gangtey. The valley of Gangtey is a standout amongst the most delightful spots in Bhutan. The amazement of discovering such a wide, flat valley with no trees after the hard climb through dense forests is enlarged by an impression of vast space and extremely rare experience in Bhutan.
2) next Phobjikha this spot is the winter home of dark necked cranes that migrate from the arid plains in the north to pass winter in milder and lower atmosphere. Phobjikha. At a height of 2900m falls under the district of Wangduephodrang and lies on the outskirts of the Black Mountain National Park.
The valley boost two excellent wandering rivers, Nakay Chhu (Chhu Naap - Black Water) and Gay Chhu (Chhu Karp - white water).
As indicated by a local legend, the two rivers actually represent a Snake and a Boar. The two animals once hustled each other with an agreement that if the snake won, Phobjikha valley would have the capacity to develop rice, however in the event that the Boar won, and since then rice would never be cultivated in the zone. Check-in to your reserved Hotel.
3) Post lunch start with Gangtey Gompa, roost on a small hill that rises from the valley floor.
4) Next we will head towards Black Necked Crane Information Center. Arranged on the edge of the forest and wetland along the main road of Phobjikha valley, the Black Necked Crane data Center has an observation room furnished with high power telescope and spotting scopes for getting the best view of the cranes. Back to Hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Gangtey.
Day 6 : Gangtey - Punakha - Thimphu – Distance 150km
On the way to Punakhi Dochula we will cross the mountain pass located at an altitude of 3150 meters above sea level, where we can admire the entire eastern range of the Himalayas. Punakhi roads will be waiting for us with a lot of sharp turns and breathtaking mountain scenery. Night stay at Thimphu Hotel.
Day 7 : Thimphu - Sight Seeing & Relax
After breakfast embark on a full day sightseeing tour of Thimpu including visit to BBS Tower or the view point, SAARC Building, India House, Handicraft School, Memorial Chorten, Simtokha Dzong. Evening free or at own. Overnight stay in Thimpu.
Day 8 : Thimphu - Haa valley- Cross Bhutan highest pass (Chele La Pass at a rise 3,988 meters) - Pa
After breakfast we will start our journey towards Haa valley is one of the most picturesque places in the kingdom of Bhutan with least population and is very peaceful place. River sidewalks and riding will give you immense pleasure. After Lunch at haa valley we Ride to Chele La Pass at a rise 3,988 meters which is considered, to be one of the most astounding motorized passes in Bhutan. Around an hour's drive along a dense forest is this pass called as Botanical Paradise. Here you can see falls of wild roses, purple and yellow primulas and swathes of dark blue iris covering the forest floor.from pass ride down to Paro and Stay at Paro.
Day 9 : Paro - Hike to Famous Tiger Nest Monastery & Siteseen.
Following breakfast set out on an entire day for neighborhood touring voyage through Paro.
1) Start with Rinpung Dzong Mesuem worked in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. A stroll through the bridge, over a stone decorated way, offers a decent view of the architectural wonder of the Dzong and in addition life around it.
2) Next to Ta Dzong, one-time watchtower built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the seventeenth century, since 1967 Ta Dzong is serving as the National Museum of the nation.
3) Head to next Drugyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang
It is one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom going back to seventh century (the other is Jambey Lhakhang in Bumthang).
4) Next we will visit Traditional Farm Houses of Paro. The magnificence of Paro valley is adorned by the group of interesting farm houses. Bhutanese farm houses are most colorful, decorative and traditionally built without the utilization of single nail. All houses follow the same architectural pattern. A visit to Farm House is exceptionally intriguing and offers a decent look at the way of life of an agriculturist.
5) The day finish with Taktshang Lhakhang (Tiger's Nest). It is a standout and elegant monastery amongst the most acclaimed of Bhutan's monasteries. It is said that Guru Rinpoche landed here on the back of a tigress and hence it is called as "Tiger's Nest".
6) Back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Paro.
Day 10 : Paro - Phuntsholing-Siliguri
Paro – Phuntsholing (Approx - 165 kms 6 hrs)
After breakfast take the transfer to Phuntsholing. Check-in to your hotel on arrival. Overnight in Phuntsholing.
Phuntsholing – Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station (Approx – 165 kms 3 hrs)
