The Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked country in South Asia located at the eastern end of the Himalayas. The most important centres for tourism are in Bhutan's capital Thimphu, and in the western city of Paro, near India. Taktshang, a cliff side monastery (Called the "Tiger's Nest" in English) overlooking the Paro Valley, is one of the country's attractions. This temple is incredibly sacred to Buddhists. Housed inside the temple is a cave in which the Buddhist Deity who brought Buddhism to Bhutan fasted for 90 days as he battled the demons that inhabited this valley, in order to spread Buddhism. The temple has standing for well over a thousand years, yet has suffered two fires in which the damage has been repaired. Druk Air used to be the only airline operating flights in Bhutan, however now it is serviced by Buddha Air as well.
Pick up from Hasimara railway station, meet & greet on arrival by our associates board vehicle and drive to Thimphu (180 km) 06 hour journey approx, drop in the hotel & over night stay at the Hotel.
Thimphuthe capital of Bhutan, where most of the modern facilities has still not reached, some say that Thimphu is the only capital in the world without the computerized traffic lighting system.
Morning visit memorial Chorten built in the memory of Late His Majesty the King by Royal Queen Mother, visit ChangangkhaLhakhang, Motithang mini Zoo to see the National animal The Takin. Drive down to viewpoint from where you have magnificent view of Thimphu valley; visit National Library to see the large collection of traditional books, folk Heritage museum where you can see the typical Bhutanese house and their lifestyle.
Afternoon, if time permits you may visit Tashichodzong, the parliament house of the country, handmade paper factory and some of the local Handicraft centre. Evening at leisure, night stay at Thimphu.
Full day excursion tour to Phunakha& after sight seeing drive to Paro& over night stay at hotel.
Early morning hike to viewpoint of Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest (one and a half hours walk, optional). This magical monastery clings to a vertical granite cliff of 3,000ft above the valley floor. On the way back drive up to the DrugyelDzong. This Dzong is of historical importance (which was in ruin for many years and now it is under construction), from whose ramparts the Bhutanese repelled Tibetan invaders. On a clear day one can view the sacred Mount Chomolhari, Mountain of Goddess (24,000 ft) and also Visit KyichuLhakhang.Afternoon visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum housed in an ancient watchtower, which has a fine collection of ancient Thangka painting, textiles, weapons and artifacts. Walk to the traditional wooden bridge. Over night stay at Hotel.
Morning drive back to Phuentholing and drop up to Jaigoan/ Hashimara.(India border).& Drive to NJP
