And also Via Wangdue Phodrang, Where You Can Visit the Local Market and Explore Newly Developed Town. The District of Wangdue Phodrang is also Famous for Its Bamboo Products, Slate and Stone Carvings. Further Ahead Pass Through Dense Forests and Oak, Rhododendron Tress, Reaching At Gangtey (phobjikha).

    The short transfer to Thimphu, the capital town of Bhutan, leads through the Paro valley to the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers at Chuzom (confluence).

    On arrival, in Thimphu and check-in at your hotel for 2 nights.

    Thimphu (alt. 2,320m), the capital town of Bhutan and the center of government, religion and commerce, is a unique city with an unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions. With a population of about 90,000 it is perhaps still the world’s only capital city without a traffic light.

    In the afternoon visit to King’s Memorial Chorten continuously circumambulated by people, murmuring mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. Construction of this landmark was the idea of Bhutan’s third king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk (“the father of modern Bhutan”) who has wished to erect monument to world peace and prosperity. Completed in 1974 after his untimely death, it serves both as a memorial to the Late King and as a monument to peace.

    Later drive to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang). You can pay your obeisance and offer prayers to the Buddha, the largest statue in the country and then walk around. The area also provides excellent view of the Thimphu valley from the west.

    National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts, some dating back several hundred years, as well as modern academic books mainly on Himalayan culture and religion: (Closed on Weekends & Government Holidays). Also visit nearby Institute for Zorig Chusum: Commonly known as Arts & Crafts School or Painting School (closed on Sat, Sun & Government Holidays), the Institute offers a six-year course on the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. On a visit, one can see students learning the various skills taught at the school.

    Textile Museum: This Textile Museum is operated by the National Commission for Cultural Affairs of Bhutan.     After breakfast, drive Gangtey (Phobjikha) enroute visiting Dochula Pass (Altitude 3080m).

And also via Wangdue Phodrang, where you can visit the local market and explore newly developed town. Further ahead pass through dense forests and oak, rhododendron tress, reaching at Gangtey (Phobjikha).

    The valley of Gangtey is one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan. The surprise of finding such a wide, flat valley without any trees after the hard climb through dense forests is augmented by an impression of vast space, and extremely rare experience in Bhutan where most of the valleys are tightly enclosed.

    After breakfast, visit Gangtey Goempa. Perched on a small hill that rises from the valley floor, the Gangtey Monastery is the only Nyingmapa monastery on the western side of the Black Mountain’s and also the biggest Nyingmapa monastery in Bhutan. The Monastery is surrounded by a large village inhabited mainly by the families of the 140 Gomchens who take care of the Monastery.

    Later explore fascinating Phobjikha valley. This place is the winter home of black necked cranes that migrate from the arid plains in the north to pass winter in milder and lower climate. Phobjikha, at an altitude of 2900 m, falls under the district of Wangdue Phodrang and lies on the periphery of the Black Mountain National Park. The valley boasts two beautiful meandering rivers, Nakay Chhu (Chhu Naap-black water) and Gay Chhu (Chhu Karp-white water).

    Also visit Black Necked Crane Information Centre. Situated on the edge of the forest and wetland along the main road of Phobjikha valley, the black-necked crane information Centre has an observation room equipped with high power telescope and spotting scopes for catching the best view of the cranes. The centre also offers display information that outline the natural and cultural history of the area. There is a small gift shop, which sells handicrafts produced by the local people.

    after Breakfast, Check-out from the Hotel and Drive to Punakha, the Old Capital Town of Bhutan.

    After Checking Into Hotel, Proceed to Visit Punakha Dzong, a Massive Structure Built At the Junction of Two Rivers. It Was the Capital of Bhutan Until 1955, and Still Serves as the Winter Residence of the Monk Body.

    Later in the Day Excursion to Chimi Lhakhang (from Hotel It is About 15 Minutes’ Drive Till Motorable Road and Then Walk Starts Through Paddy Fields and Villages. This is Total About 1½ Hour Walk, Including Both Way). The Chimi Lhakhang, Situated On a Hillock in the Centre of the Valley, also Known as the Temple of Fertility. It is Widely Believed that Couples Who Do Not have Children and Wanting One, if They Pray At this Temple, They are Usually Blessed with a Child Very Soon. The Trail Leads Across Rice Fields to the Tiny Settlement of Pana, Meaning ‘field’. A Walk Through the Village Near the Temple Will Give You Rare Glimpses Into the Daily Life and Lifestyle of the Villagers

    evening Can Be Spent Exploring Punakha Village Located Right On the Bank of River.

  • Day 6 :

    After breakfast depart to Paro, the road climbs steeply through a forest of pine and cedar, festooned with hanging lichen high up near Dochula pass (3,080 m). This pass often offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. After stopping for tea and the view, we descend along a series of hairpin bends to river valley.

    En route visit Simtokha Dzong, the place of profound tantric teaching, this dzong now houses a school for the study of the Dzongkha language.

    On arrival check-in at hotel for 2 nights. Later in the day set out on an exploratory excursion in around Paro valley.

    Paro (2,280m) – The beautiful valley of Paro encapsulates within itself a rich culture, scenic beauty and hundreds of myths and legends. It is home to many of Bhutan’s oldest temples and monasteries, National Museum and the country’s only airport. Mount. Chomolhari (7,314m) reigns in white glory at the northern end of the valley and its glacial water plunge through deep gorges to form Pa Chhu (Paro River). Paro is also one of the most fertile valleys in the Kingdom producing a bulk of the locally famous red rice from its terraced fields.

    Visit Ta Dzong, originally built as a watchtower, which now houses the National Museum. The extensive collection includes antique thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons & armor, household objects and a rich assortment of natural and historic artifacts.

    Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, meaning (“fortress of the heap of jewels”), which has a long and fascinating history. Along the wooden galleries lining the inner courtyard are fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist lore such as four friends, the old man of long life, the wheel of life, scenes from the life of Milarepa, Mount. Sumeru and other cosmic Mandala.

  • Day 7 :

    After Breakfast Take a Short Drive to Satsam Chorten, Stop En Route At the 7th Century Kyichu Lhakhang, One of the 108 Temples Built in the Himalayas By Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo. the Building of this Temple Marks the Introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan.

    on Arrival At Trail-head Point, Embark On a Walking Excursion to Taktshang Monastery (tiger’s Nest Closed On Tuesdays): It is One of the Most Famous of Bhutan’s Monasteries, Perched On the Side of a Cliff 900m Above the Paro Valley Floor. It is Said that Guru Rinpoche Arrived Here On the Back of a Tigress and Meditated At this Monastery and Hence It is Called ‘tiger’s Nest’. this Site Has Been Recognised as a Most Sacred Place and Visited By Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 and Now Visited By all Bhutanese At Least Once in Their Lifetime. On 19 April, 1998, a Fire Severely Damaged the Main Structure of Building But Now this Bhutanese Jewel Has Been Restored to Its Original Splendour.

    on the Way Back to Town Stop At Drukgyel Dzong, a Ruined Fortress Where Bhutanese Warriors Fought Tibetan Invaders Centuries Ago. the Snowy Dome of Sacred Chomolhari, “mountain of Goddess” Can Be Seen in all Her Glory from the Approach Road to the Dzong.

    on Arrival At Trail-head Point, Embark On a Walking Excursion to Taktshang Monastery (tiger’s Nest Closed On Tuesdays): It is One of the Most Famous of Bhutan’s Monasteries, Perched On the Side of a Cliff 900m Above the Paro Valley Floor. It is Said that Guru Rinpoche Arrived Here On the Back of a Tigress and Meditated At this Monastery and Hence It is Called ‘tiger’s Nest’. this Site Has Been Recognised as a Most Sacred Place and Visited By Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 and Now Visited By all Bhutanese At Least Once in Their Lifetime. On 19 April, 1998, a Fire Severely Damaged the Main Structure of Building But Now this Bhutanese Jewel Has Been Restored to Its Original Splendour.
