Day 1 : Njp/ Bagdogra Airport to Jaigaon
ACTIVITIES: Hasimara to jaigaon its takes 29mins and 14.7km and it takes 3hrs 55mins to reach jaigon from Bagdogra airport. After arriving to jaigaon, move towards top IMMIGRATION OFFICE to issue a tourist permit to get entrance to thimphu.
Day 2 : Travel to the Capital City of Bhutan Thimphu, On the Way Local Sightseeing and Nightstay At Thimphu
ACTIVITIES: Distance-175km and estimated time-approx 6hrs. On the way you will enjoy thick forest, waterfalls, dam, rivers and after arriving thimphu check in hotel and after getting fresh move towards thimphu town for shopping and individual activity.
Day 3 : Full Day Sightseeing, Nightstay
ACTIVITIES: After breakfast go or major sightseeing: BUDDHA POINT which is15mins from main town, MEMORIAL CHORTEN which is 15 to 20mins from Buddha point, TAKIN PRESERVE
[TAKIN-NATIONAL ANIMAL OF BHUTAN]which is 20mins from memorial chorten, CENETARY FARMERS MARKET (closed on Tuesday)which is 15mins from takin preserve, HANDICRAFTINSTITUTE which is 15 to 20mins from farmers mart, NATIONAL LIBRARY which is 8mins from handicraft institute, THE INSTITUTE OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE which is 10mins from national library, SCHOOL OF ARTS AND CRAFTS which is 6mins from institute of medicine, TASHICHO DZONG which is 22min from school of arts and crafts, SEMTOKHA DZONG which is 25mins from tashicho dzong, CHAMGLIMITHANG STADIUM which is 31mins from semtokha dzong. In the evening stroll down to thimphu town. Dinner and night stay at thimphu hotel.
Day 4 : Thimphu to Paro Via Punakha, Night Stay At Paro
ACTIVITIES: Thimphu to DOCHULA PASS which is 23.3km and 42mins from thimphu, DRUKWANGYAL LHAKHANG which is 20mins from dochula pass, PUNAKHA DZONG which is 1hr 24min from drukwangyallhakhang, WANGDUE PHODRANG which is 1hr 54mins from punakha dzong, KHAMSUM YULLEY NAMGYAL TEMPLE which is 1 hr from wangdue. Drive back to paro, visit DRUKGYAL DZONG which is approx 4hrs from punakha , KYICHU LHAKHANG which is 25mins from drukgyal dzong . Dinner at night stay at paro.
Day 5 : Day Hike to Takshang Monastery ( Tiger’s Nest), Sightseeing At Paro
ACTIVITIES: After breakfast you will hike up to Taktsang Monastery, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. The climb up to the viewpoint will take around 1 ½ hours and from there you will enjoy a spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of the cliff. Stop for the refreshment at the view point Cafeteria. Then walk further up to the monastery which will take about an hour. It is said that in the 18th century Guru Rinpoche flew on the back of a tigress from eastern Bhutan to this place and meditated in a cave for 3months.After the visiting the monastery, walk down to the road on the way stop for lunch at the view point cafeteria and then walk further down to the road point. Then drive back to hotel and relax. If you want you can enjoy the hot stone bath after your hike.In the evening you will stroll down to the market where you will find much Bhutanese handmade stuff. Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Paro
Day 6 : Trip to Haa via Chelela
Distance- 1 h 12 min (36.8 km)
Morning after breakfast travel to Haa via Chella pass
[Chele la (pass) at an elevation 13000 ftasl is considered to be one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan.], the distance via Chelela is much lesser than the another route. After driving through blue pine and rhododendron forests for around an hour.The pass provides stunning views of the sacred mountain Jomolhari and Jichu Drake. If you start around 9am yo will reach Chelela Pass, the highest motorable road in Bhutan by 11am. After few spending few minutes,move towards Haa. You will reach Haa by 1 or 2pm. Haa is a very small town, mostly occupied by military. [headquater of Indian army in haa]Indian Army have a base camp there and trains Bhutanese Army where you will hardly see people in the, market. You can visit Lhakhang karpo(white temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black temple) at the foothills of a venerated three brotherly mountains known as Meri Peunsum. The HaaWangchuklo Dzong built in1915 after the Dumchog Dzong. The other place of interest which involves some walking includes the hike to the 18th century Juenydrag, katshoGeompa, DranaTrashidingkhag, YangtoGeompa, JamtoeGeompa , Shelkardrag, TakchuGeompa and HaaGeompa. The valley is also a paradise for nature lovers and travelling there is a very rewarding experience. It is also an ideal place to take short walk, enjoying panoramic vistas. After lunch Visit the KeychhuLhakhang(Keychhu temple) one of the108 temples built in the 17th century by the Tibetan King SongstenGampo. The story goes that giant demon lay across the whole area of Tibet and the Himalayas and was preventing the spread of Buddhism. To overcome her King SonstenGampo decided to build 108 temples, which would be placed on all the points of her body. Thus, it happened that in about the year AD 638 the temple of Jokhang in Lhasa was built over the heart of the demon.Drive back to paro , dinner and night stay at hotel.
Day 7 : Paro Via Phuentsholing Drop to Njp/bagdogra Airport
After breakfast visit the Paro Dzong well known as Rinpung Dzong, built in 1645 to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders. The Dzong is now being used as an administration center and school for monks. Then walk down to Ringpung Bridge (Traditional Bridge), oldest bridge in Bhutan.
After the visit travel to Phuentsholing for departure.
End of the programme.
