Day 1 : Arrival in Bhutan
On arrival to Paro international airport our representative will receive you and transfer to Thimphu which is the capital city and the most developed district in Bhutan. The drive will take an hour approximately. After lunch, visit Memorial Chorten which was build by the Queen mother of Bhutan in 1972 in the memory of our Third King H.M Jigme Dorji Wanchuck (Modern father of Bhutan).
Visit Changangkha Lhakhang which is a 12th century Buddhist temple, visit mini zoo which is the natural habitat of our national animal "Takin", General Post Office which would be a great chance to buy post cards and stamps or even take make their own personal stamps.
Visit Textile weaving centre at Chamzamtog where there is a good display of various display of Bhutanese fabrics. Weavers will display the the traditional method of weaving Bhutanese farics.
The day will end at the last stop at Tashi Chhoedzong which is a gigantic fortress located close across a river bank called ‘Wang Chu’. It is also the office of H.M the King. After sightseeing, check in hotel for dinner and over night stay.
Day 2 : Punakha drive
Thimphu – Punakha via Duchula pass. After breakfast , drive to Punkha valley which is regarded as the old capital of Bhutan which takes about 2 and half hours via Dochula pass. This pass is at 3150m above sea level and the highest point between Thimphu and Punakha. The pass is been marked up with 108 traditional Bhutanese style stupa also.
Later drive further down hill to the Punakha/Wangdue valley. On arrival to Punakha lunch will be served, after lunch visit Punakha Dzong which has been built in between the two rivers and it is the most beautiful fortress in Bhutan. It will be an amazing experience for walk to the fortress through the Bhutanese traditional bridge known as MoChu Bazam.
After the fortress visit in the afternoon, there will be a short walk to Chimi Lhakhnag which is a 14th century temple built in dedication of Lam Drukpa Keunley who was a Tibeten Buddhist saint popularly known as the divine madman. After the visit drive to hotel for check in and dinner. Overnight in Wangdue/Punakha.
Day 3 : Phobjikha day excursion
After breakfast, drive to the peaceful valley of Phobjikha which would take about 3-4 hours. On arrival, visit Gangtey Gompa, which is a 14th century Buddhist temple which has a unique architectural design from exterior. After the temple visit, lunch will be served. After lunch visit Black Naked crane center which would be a good place to learn the habitants of the rare and endangered species of Bird called Black naked crane. A short walk around the valley and drive back to Punakha for over night stay.
Day 4 : Punakha - Paro valley
Paro is yet another valley or district in Bhutan which has a numerous tourist attractions. The drive from Punakha to Paro will take about 2-3 hours, Lunch will be served on arrival to Paro. After lunch, visit Paro Dzong which is a fortress built on a mountain overlooking the town. After Dzong visit, 20 mins drive to visit another temple called Kichu Lhakhang. This temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temple to be built in Bhutan which dates back to 7th century. After sightseeing, check in hotel for over night stay.
Day 5 : Taksang Hike
After breakfast, drive north of Paro valley for 30mins at the base of Taksang for 3 hours hike to Taksang, (Tiger's Nest) the most important monastery in the country. The hike takes about 5-6hours for round trip and visit inside the temple than later hike back down hill for lunch in cafeteria.
After the hike, drive back to the hotel for refreshment and a change of cloths for a visit to a 3rd century farm house. Dinner will be served in the farm house and traditional wine will also be served. If visitors are interested, there will also an option to take a traditional hot stone bath which is believed to have a lot of medicinal values. However the hot stone bath will incur additional costs. After visit, drive to hotel for over night stay
Day 6 : Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Paro international airport for departure.
