Our thrilling Dubai and South Africa safari holidays start in Durban, with Big Five game viewing at the luxurious Nambiti Hills Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, followed by a Dubai city and beach break. A 4x4 jeep safari into the desert is included in Dubai, as well as a city tour. All transfers, game viewing & specified sightseeing included. This Big Five safari is malaria free.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  You will be met at Durban Airport and transferred 3-hours through the rolling hills of the Natal Midlands and Ladysmith, to the malaria-free Nambiti Hills Game Reserve.
  
  Check into your safari lodge and enjoy an afternoon open-top game drive with a lodge ranger.

• Day 2 : Day at Leisure

  Rise early when game viewing conditions are at their best, for a thrilling open-top game drive with a lodge ranger in Nambiti Hills Game Reserve.
  
  With a mixed vegetation of savanna grasslands, indigenous trees and bushveld, this wildlife conservation area is home to all the Big Five, as well as offering an ideal habitat for a large variety of antelope and abundant bird life. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, before returning to the bushveld in the late afternoon for another game drive.

• Day 3 : Day at Leisure

• Day 5 : Dubai

  After a final early morning safari, transfer 3-hours to Durban Airport for your onward flight.
  
  You will be met at Dubai Airport and transferred to your hotel.
  
  Check in, settle in and relax in this ultra modern city situated on the edge of the Arabian Desert.

• Day 6 : Dubai

  This morning enjoy a 4.5-hour shared tour of the fascinating city of Dubai - which has arisen out of the desert sands and today is an international city that crowns the Gulf Coast.
  
  Our tour starts with a magnificent view over Dubai Creek, before passing the heritage area of Bastakiya (Old Dubai) with its narrow lanes, well preserved coral and limestone buildings and 'wind tower' houses built by wealthy merchants. We then view the 18th century Al-Fahidi Fort, where the Dubai Museum holds precious archives and memories of the city’s past. A few streets on we board an Abra, a traditional wooden boat, to cross the Creek for a visit to the Spice Market and the Gold Souk, where you can find some of the best jewellery in town.
  
  Treasures House is our next stop, with a fashion show and the opportunity to buy leather goods and jewellery, followed by a visit to the Women Museum. Boarding our vehicle again, we stop for a photo opportunity outside Jumeirah Mosque – an important architectural landmark in the city. At the end of our tour we drive past the Burj Al Arab, the highest hotel in the world, before being dropped off at your hotel.
  
  Note: Tour departs on Monday, Wednesday & Saturday.

• Day 7 : Day at Leisure

  This afternoon enjoy a 4-hour shared 4x4 jeep Desert Safari deep into the golden sand dunes of the United Arab Emirates.
  
  On arrival in the desert, we stop on one of the highest sand dune to view the beautiful sunset. We then continue to an authentic Bedouin campsite where you can try your hand at camel riding and savour the local Hubbly Bubbly (water pipe). End your evening with a display of traditional belly dancing to Arabic music and a delicious BBQ buffet under the stars.

• Day 8 : Burj Khalifa

  At leisure to relax and enjoy the beaches of Dubai. Sun worshippers can head to the white sands of Jumeirah Beach or the water park at Atlantis The Palms.
  
  Known for its luxury shopping and ultra modern architecture, there are many other attractions to amaze you - including the Burj Khalifa, at 830 m the tallest skyscraper in the world. Take a ride to the top of this incredible structure for fabulous views, and admire the water jets & lights of Dubai Fountain at its foot.
  
  Shoppers should head to Dubai Mall or the Mall of the Emirates with its amazing indoor ski slope, complete with penguin enclosure. Burj al-Arab is the world's tallest hotel and is lit up at night with a wonderful display. Designed to resemble a sailing dhow, it is located on its own artificial island. More incredible modern architecture can be seen along Sheikh Zayed Road, the main thoroughfare of the downtown business district.
  
  Alternatively take a dhow cruise from Dubai Creek that separates Dubai into its two cities - Deira to the north and Bur Dubai to the south - and shop in the traditional souks (markets) found in the winding streets of Deira.
  
  Other attractions include Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum House, Dubai Aquarium, Jumeirah & Bastakia mosques, the Heritage and Diving Village, with its pearl diving and dhow building displays, and Ferrari World in neighbouring Adu Dhabi. You can also enjoy a helicopter flight or hot air balloon ride over the dunes.
  
  Another experience not to be missed is an optional 4x4 Desert Safari, where you can enjoy being driven over the desert sand dunes and try your hand at riding a camel, before enjoying a delicious barbeque under the stars.

• Day 9 : Day at Leisure

  Transfer to Dubai Airport for your flight home.
