Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Chiang Mai, Arrival

    Arrival at Chiang Mai Airport (International Terminal) from Bangkok. Your guide will await you outside customs hall and transfer you to “Amora Hotel Thapae Gate”, in the centre of the old city in Chiang Mai. Dinner with the tour crew and briefing at the Mae Ping River.

  • Day 2 : Chiang Mai - Doi Inthanon - Mae Sariang - 275 Kms.

    Familiarize yourself with your bike on the highway ride heading south of Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in Thailand, 2.565 meter above sea level. Ride along the excellent winding mountain road through pine forest scenery. Visit Thailand’s finest waterfall, nature trails, Royal pagodas and botanical gardens. Descending to Mae Chaem for a relaxing lunch at the local restaurant. After lunch, ride on, passing through pine forests until we reach Mae Sariang where you later enjoy your peaceful accommodation.

  • Day 3 : Mae Sariang - Mae Hong Son - Pai - 273 Kms

    After breakfast, leave Mae Sariang to Mae Hong Son on narrow twisty curvy roads. In Khun Yuam we make a break and visit a World War II museum. Visit the long-neck Karen tribe village near the border of Thailand and Myanmar. Visit Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, the first temple of Mae Hong Son on the hilltop. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Visit Lod cave, which means, “cave with stream running through”, on a bamboo raft. Then back on twisty curvy roads to Pai. Visit Tha Pai hot spring, where you can enjoy a mineral bath. Then we reach a charming accommodation with swimming pool.

  • Day 4 : Pai - Tha Ton - 237 Kms

    Before breakfast, in the very early morning you have a chance to offer food to the monks along the streets of Pai`s local market. After breakfast, visit the Pai World War II Memorial Bridge. Back on winding mountainous roads to Mok Fah waterfall. Later we reach Chiang Dao, where we have a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit Chiang Dao cave. Then ride along fantastic mountain roads until we reach Tha Ton, where you will visit the Wat Tha Ton on top of the mountain and enjoy the amazing sunset there. Later you relax in your charming accommodation with a fantastic panoramic view.

  • Day 5 : Tha Ton - Mae Sai - 140 kms

    After breakfast, we leave Tha Ton to visit Doi Mae Salong, where Chinese mountain tea farmers live. Of course, you will test Thailand´s best tea there. Then back on curvy roads to Doi Tung Royal Villa. Visit the Winter Palace and the botanical garden. Lunch is served at the Royal’s Project restaurant. Continue along winding roads to Mae Sai, the northern most point of Thailand. Visit Wat Tham Pla where you can feed some food to wild monkeys. Optional can cross the border to Myanmar (former Burma - Visa on arrival) before relaxing at your peaceful accommodation.

  • Day 6 : Mae Sai - Golden Triangle - Border Crosing to Houayxay ( Laos) 123 Kms

    Head east to the Golden Triangle – the area where Burma, Laos and Thailand meet on the mighty Mekong River. Follow the river to the port town of Chiang Khong – gateway to Laos and China. Cross the Mekong on the new Friendship bridge into Laos and after completing the immigration process ride to Huay Xai (Visa on arrival). Sleep directly by the Mekong River in Huay Xai.

  • Day 7 : Houayxay - Luang Namtha - Boten ( Chinese Border) 321 Kms.

    Ride to the Chinese border at Boten which is a purpose built ‘Casino Town’ to serve the Chinese fondness for gambling. Lunch in Luang Namtha. After we ride the stunning road trough Laos highest mountains to the unseen Oudomxay. Here you will discover the real authentic Lao style. Overnight in Oudomxay.

  • Day 8 : Oudomxay - Nong Khiew - 116 kms.

    Ride the stunning roads of Laos and stay over in the amazing Nong Kiau. Overnight in the middle of nowhere in this beautiful and authentic Laos town at the river near the two Elephant mountains, one of the most beautiful spots in South East Asia.

  • Day 9 : Nong Khiew - Luang Prabang - 141 kms.

    After breakfast we ride to Luang Prabang (literally: “Royal Buddha Image”) where we will stay overnight. The city was formerly the capital of a kingdom of the same name. It had also been known by the ancient name of Chiang Thong. Until the communist takeover in 1975, it was the royal capital and seat of government of the Kingdom of Laos. The old town centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main part of the city consists of four main roads on a peninsula between the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers. The city is well known for its numerous Buddhist temples and monasteries. Every morning, hundreds of monks from the various monasteries walk through the streets collecting alms. One of the major landmarks in the city is a large steep hill on which sits temple Wat Pousi. (Laundry service available)

  • Day 10 : Rest Day in Luang Prabang

    This town is gleaming with temple roofs, fading colonial architecture and a stunning mountain backdrop. It has been claimed by UNESCO as, “the best preserved traditional city in South East Asia”. This is a leisure day or you can also visit the former Royal Palace which is now a national museum and an important Temple named “Wat Xieng Thong”. A visit to Luang Prabang would be not complete without climbing the 329 steps to the top of Mount Phousi for a beautiful sunset view of the Mekong river overlooking Luang Prabang with a 360 degree view. Also a Must Do is of course visit one of the most beautyful waterfall in the world, the "Kuang Si waterfall".

  • Day 11 : Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng - 240 kms.

    After breakfast, we leave Luang Prabang for pure adventure riding through a limestone karst landscape. The roads begin to deteriorate; however the stunning mountain scenery makes for interesting riding. Then relax for lunch at local restaurant at the peak of a mountain with a great view. Continue riding the impressive mountainous roads until we reach Vang Vieng. Explore the famous cave of Tham Jang that was once used by local people as a hideout from Yunnanese invaders in early 19th century. Cross the river to Ban Huai Ngai, a very pleasant village to explore the local lifestyle. Then relax at the peaceful accommodation.

  • Day 12 : Vang Vieng - Vientiane - 200 kms

    After breakfast, leaving Vang Vieng to the Capital of Laos “Vientiane”. Ride along fantastic mountainous roads to visit Nam Ngum dam. The largest dam in Laos with deep blue waters same the ocean. Lunch is served at a local restaurant at the dam. Then we cruise along the highway through farming areas to Vientiane. Visit Patuxai monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Visit the oldest Wat Si Saket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha image. Then we arrive and relax at the charming accommodation. Farewell dinner at a french restauraunt.

  • Day 13 : Vientiane, Departure

    Relax at hotel, check out and leave for airport or stay and explore Vang Vieng and surrounding area. End of our services of tour "Big Motorbike along China Border: Thailand to Laos"
