North of Pokhara at an altitude of 2,800m, a windy city of Nepal- Jomsom sits on the Shore of Kali Gandaki River. The apple orchard of Nepal, Jomsom lies in the rain-shadow of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri peaks. This is the home of the Thakali and has both religious and touristic importance. The Muktinath temple, revered by Buddhists and Hindus alike is also located in Jomsom. The holy pond in the Muktinath temple premises has an eternal flame underneath the pond water.

Biking Tour in the Jomsom-Muktinath Trail is arguably the most popular biking route in Nepal. The majestic Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri peaks make the constant backdrop as you pedal through the shores of Kali Gandaki River which makes the deepest ravine on Earth. Along the way, you will encounter numerous ancient monasteries and typical villages with welcoming people.

The cycling trail is adventurous and can be sometimes demanding and tricky. This cycling trail offers varying degree of challenges for cyclers with varying degree of experience and preferences. The scenic view you behold along the way will never cease to captivate you. Never once in the biking tour will you feel tired because you will be provided constant refreshment by the incredible construction of Nature. Riding our way down rocky paths, sometimes narrow and sometimes wide, we will descend to meet paved road that will lead us to Pokhara.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Day in Kathmandu 1400m; Cordial Welcome in the Airport and Transfer to Your Hotel; Welcome D

  Actually, Nepal opens in the air; just before the plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. If you are, lucky enough with the bright sunshine on your arrival day the wide range of soaring Himalayan Peaks to the North is a magnificent view. As you complete the immigration formalities of the airport and make your way out from the Arrivals Terminal, we would offer you a warm Nepalese welcome and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel in a private vehicle. At hotel, you will have a very easy check-in procedure. Let the flight exhaustion go off in the cozy hotel room. In the evening, we will offer you a welcome dinner in one of the finest cultural restaurants of the city.

• Day 2 : Drive to Pokhara 200km 6 Hrs Drive

  After breakfast in Hotel, we will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara in a tourist coach. Pokhara is naturally blessed town 200km west of Kathmandu. A journey along the serpentine highway to Pokhara is wonderful. On our arrival, at Pokhara after seven hours of drive, we will be transferred to our hotel. In the evening, we can explore around Pokhara and do the last minute shopping for the trek starting tomorrow. Stay overnight at hotel at Pokhara.

• Day 3 : Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom; Cycling from Jomsom to Kagbeni 11km

  Today we will take a flight morning early from Pokhara to Jomsom. The flights to Jomsom are normally operated in the mornings as after 11 am the strong wind affects the landing and take-off. Upon arriving Jomsom, we will explore around and after the lunch we start our cycling tour. On the first day of our cycling tour in Nepal, we will pedal around two hours to reach Kagbeni. The Cycling Tour in this part of Nepal is amazingly wonderful. Cross passing the winswept landscapes and derested valleys we arrive to Kagbeni, which is at a height of 3,115m. We will stay overnight at Kagbeni and also catch a glimpse of the place.

• Day 4 : Cycling from Kagbeni to Muktinath 13km

  We will peddle uphill from Kagbeni to Muktinath today. Today's cycling comprises uphill ride most of the times. We pedal along the trail on the north of Kali Gandaki Gorge and chase the uphill dusty road. At Jhong we stop for the lunch and explore around. The final part of the ride beyond Jhong is relatively short and hence we arrive to Muktinath in the afternoon. Muktinath is at an altitude of 3,800m. Muktinath is a place of religious importance for Buddhists and Hindus alike and has a temple called Muktinath Temple. We will explore the place and its attractions and stay overnight in a lodge.

• Day 5 : Cycling from Muktinath to Tukuche 32km

  Today our cycling tour begins with a downhill ride. We will enjoy the ride along the wide and downhill jeep trails. However, the easier route for cycling is made little more challengging today because of the wind that dominates the region after 11. So we need to start early. Long pedaling journey yet a memorable one so enjoy the views, savor the moment and admire the beauty of Nepal. Chasing 6km flat trail to Jomsom followed by the rolling trails along Kali Gandaki River we arrive to Marpha. Enjoy the lunch at Marpha with the famous Marpha Brandy and chase the rollinbg trail to Tukuche. Tukuche a small village by the river side is a wonderful place to observe authentic Thakali culture. Overnight in a teahouse at Tukuche.

• Day 6 : Cycling from Tukuche to Tatopani 36km

  We will pedal along the Thak Khola valley made by the Kali Gandaki River today. The beautiful, deep valley will lead us to Tatopani after some five hours of adventurous riding. Today as well we are pedaling downhill. The cycling journey today starts out on a gentle and flat trail. It also cross passes in and out of the valley sides, through lush vegetation and small settlements. We enjoy the lunch at Chaahara and beyond Chaahara our ride drops almost 1000m challengingly along the sweepy turns and plunges, rocky sections and bumps. Finally we arrive to Tatopani. Upon arriving at Tatopani, we will have descended up to an altitude of 1,189m. Tatopani translates in English to hot water. The place is popular for many natural hot water springs from where it derives its name. We will take a relaxing hot water bath and stay overnight in Tatopani.

• Day 7 : Cycling from Tatopani to Beni 21km

  From Tatopani, our next stop will be Beni and for that it requires some four hours of cycling. We will follow the Kali Gandaki River and its valley. Today's trail throws some exciting riding with its dirt trails with heavy rocks around. We will stay overnight in Beni which is at an altitude of 830m.

• Day 8 : Cycling from Beni to Pokhara 82km

  Today is the final day of our cycling tour and will be cycling on good motor roads and so the ride will be one of the most comfortable throughout the trip. On the way, we will be able to behold the beautiful Pokhara valley with Phewa Lake. The Annapurna and Machhapuchhre peaks make the constant backdrop as we pedal through Kushma, Nayapul, Naudanda, Hemja and eventually arrive in Pokhara. We will stay overnight in Pokhara.

• Day 9 : Drive to Kathmandu; Evening Farewell Dinner

  Today we will drive on the snaky Prithivi Highway to Kathmandu in a tourist coach. Witnessing the rural landscapes dominated by lush vegetation and rushing rivers is full of fun throughout the drive. The rural culture is also a fascinating reward of the ride. 200 kilometers of ride that takes seven full hours will finally bring you to Kathmandu. On your arrival to Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. During the evening, you are invited to a cultural restaurant for the farewell dinner.

• Day 10 : Transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport (tia) for Your Departure

  Today you will be transferred to TIA for your final departure from Nepal provided that you have no plans to stay further.
