A leisurely introduction to the city of Kuala Lumpur. The first stop will be at the Old Railway Station completed in 1910 to replace an older station on the same site, the station was Kuala Lumpur's railway hub in the city. The National Mosque has a capacity of 15,000 people and is situated among 13 acres (53,000 m2) of beautiful gardens which offers a good opportunity for some great photographs.
The next stop is the Independence Square where the nation celebrates its annual Independence Day with parades and performances. The Moorish architecture of the Sultan Abdul Samad building contrasts with the mock Tudor structure of the Selangor Club. The National Monument is a sculpture that commemorates the fallen heroes in Malaysia’s struggle for freedom, principally against the Japanese occupation during World War II and the Malayan Emergency which lasted from 1948 until 1960.
Proceed to the KL Bird Park, located adjacent to the Lake Gardens and is the world’s largest free-flight walk-In aviary. Sprawling approximately 20.9 acres (8.46 ha) of verdant valley terrain. One of the park's most extraordinary features is that in Zone 1, 2 and 3, birds are let free in the aviary which closely resembles their natural habitat. The Bird Park houses more than 3,000 birds representing more than 200 species. Don’t miss the opportunity to feed the birds and catch the bird show (Bird Show is at 1230hrs and 1530hrs).
Later, you will get the opportunity for a photo stop at the PETRONAS Twin Tower. The 88-storey PETRONAS Twin Towers, otherwise known as KLCC, is among the world's tallest twin structures. Stretching out to one side of this architectural masterpiece is the spacious and beautifully landscaped KLCC Park. Other attractions at KLCC are Suria Shopping Complex, Petronas Philharmonic Hall, Petrosains Science Centre, Petronas Art Gallery and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, where The Aquaria Oceanarium is situated.
