Your informative and knowledgeable guide will collect you from your Sydney hotel as we commence our small group deluxe tour into the heart of the unique Blue Mountains World Heritage Region. The Blue Mountains National Park is one of seven national parks that make up the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. This wonderland of sandstone outcrops, deep ravines and hazy blue eucalypt forests boasts luxury retreats and the world’s steepest railway. Today your guide will take you off the beaten track to visit remote lookout locations and discuss the history, flora and fauna of this magnificent region.
Our first stop of the day is at Calmsley Hill a working farm also home to Kangaroos, Emus, Wombats and Koalas. Enjoy morning tea and time to wander at leisure.
Departing from Calmsley, we commence our drive to the Blue Mountains via the highway. We will visit one of a range of stunning outlooks of the Jamison Valley seeing beautiful vistas. Where possible this will be away from the crowds of tours that visit the mountains each day, thus our guests will enjoy a stress and hurry free environment taking in the views and information imparted by their guide.
Continuing on we arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout point away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. Here your guide will discuss the legends behind this famous rock formation and time available for you to take some great photos.
From here, you are taken to your accommodation to check in. The remainder of the day at is free at leisure to relax and explore. Lunch is own cost today.
In the morning, we will collect you at 8:30am and travel around the mountains, stopping at Govetts Leap for spectacular Escarpment views. We then continue on to the delightful Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens where we have a short walk through the gardens enjoying expansive views followed by morning tea/coffee refreshments. From here, we make our way through to Bilpin and then into the Wollemi National Park to Putty and on to the Hunter Valley. On arrival, we enjoy a delightful lunch with glass of wine at a Vineyard Cafe followed by a visit to a boutique winery for tastings. We then deliver you to your accommodation to enjoy the remainder of afternoon and evening relaxing at leisure.
After breakfast time to relax.
Approximately 11.15am – 11.30am you are collected from your accommodation to re-join the wine tour and continue onto Leogate Estate. This opulent cellar door is the perfect place to enjoy that unique taste which only the Hunter Valley and their award winning wines can provide. All wines produced from the great vines of one of the most highly regarded vineyards in Australia. Here we will enjoy a selection of cheeses to accompany the wine tasting, followed by a tour of the onsite winery to learn of the wine making process.
On conclusion of the tour, we enjoy a relaxing 2 course lunch (selection of platters, followed by dessert of choice) accompanied by a glass of wine. Further beverages can be purchased at own expense.
After lunch we travel to Keith Tulloch Winery. This small completely family owned winery and vineyard produces wines that express the unique terrain and climate from the ancient soils of the Brokenback Range. Here we will enjoy a unique wine tasting experience in collaboration with artisan chocolatier “Cocoa Nib”. You will sample five handmade praline chocolates, matched to the winery’s current release wine – a sensational way to conclude our day in the Hunter Valley Wine Region.
From here we commence our return to Sydney to arrive back at your hotels approximately 5 – 5.30pm.
