All meals will be cooked over an open fire under the stars.

    Comfortable walking shoes & sandals

  • Day 2 : Okavango Delta

The seasonal Okavango Delta is flooded annually by the great Okavango River, whose waters flow inland from Angola into the vast Kalahari – never finding the sea, but instead forming a great inland delta whose waters are absorbed by the desert.

Comprising 6,000 square miles of crystal clear channels, serene lagoons and a myriad of islands, the Okavango Delta forms a natural oasis that sustains a vast variety of wildlife and birds of all descriptions. The waters are at their height from July to October, forming an amazing wetlands ecosystem that is one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.

Activities centre on early morning and late afternoon game viewing and bird watching, with over 240 different bird species. Depending on the season, mekoro excursions may be available as well as game drives to track some of the larger species that inhabit this region - including buffalo, hippo and elephants. In the evening relax around a blazing fire under balmy African skies.

  • Day 3 : Moremi Game Reserve

Today is one long game drive as we travel 6-hours from Moremi Game Reserve to Savuti, on sandy roads suitable only for 4x4 vehicles, surrounded by the open savannah and camelthorn trees of Chobe Game Reserve – Botswana’s premier game park.

The Savuti Plains offer world-acclaimed game viewing – including the famous Savute lion prides, leopard, wild dogs, bull elephants, black-backed jackal, bat-eared foxes, hyena, cheetah, tsessebe, kudu, impala, ostrich and much more.

In the late afernoon we check into our wilderness camp (with bush ablutions) and erect our dome tent.

  • Day 4 : Savuti Plains

The Savuti Plains offer world-acclaimed game viewing – including the famous Savute lion prides, leopard, wild dogs, bull elephants, black-backed jackal, bat-eared foxes, hyena, cheetah, tsessebe, kudu, impala, ostrich and much more.

The summer rains bring a feast for lion, hyena and cheetah, as migrating zebra and wildebeest assemble in a chaotic pattern on the marsh. Cape buffalo herds arrive and migrant birds swell the resident population of over 300 different species, making this a bird watchers delight. Carmine bee-eaters perch on the back of kori bustards, red-crested korhaans plummet from the sky in daring mating displays and marabou storks roost in the trees whilst woodland kingfishers sing you to sleep. Game drives are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon, with balance of day at leisure.

  • Day 5 : Kasane

This morning transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Kasane, where you will be met and transferred to your lodge near the Chobe River.

Chobe National Park is Botswana’s premier wildlife reserve and is uniquely situated at the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, where four African countries meet – Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. After checking in to your lodge, enjoy a game drive with your guide in his vehicle.

After checking in to your lodge, enjoy a boat ride on the Chobe River, which is home to some of Botswana’s most spectacular wildlife, as well as abundant bird life. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this vast game sanctuary and hopefully you will see elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, antelope and other river-based wildlife today. Afterwards dine in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide.

  • Day 6 : Chobe National Park

Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day and enjoy a thrilling open-top game viewing drive with a lodge ranger.

Chobe National Park is home to vast herds of buffalo and elephant, as well as numerous other species which roam in profusion and diversity. During the dry season, vast elephant herds migrate from both south and north to congregate in their thousands along the Chobe River – the largest concentration of elephants in the whole of Africa. Also hope to see lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals before returning to your lodge.

In the afternoon, enjoy another game-viewing boat ride on the Chobe River.

  • Day 7 : Victoria Falls

This morning transfer 45-minutes to the Zimbabwe border and, after completing immigration formalities, continue 2-hours to Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River.

You may catch your first glimpses of the magnificent Smoke That Thunders first discovered by Dr. David Livingstone and still one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The flow of water over the Victoria Falls is greatest during the wet months (February to June) but the falls are a magnificent sight at any time of year.

You will be dropped off at the Victoria Falls office of the canoeing company. In the afternoon (16.00) you will be transferred on a 1.5-hour game drive through Zambezi National Park to your rustic mobile bush camp situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, about 16 miles (25 km) upstream from Victoria Falls.

After drinks on the river bank, relax under the brilliant stars of the southern sky and enjoy a delicious dinner cooked over a roaring campfire.

Note: Your walk-in tent will be erected for you and camp beds, mattresses, sheets, pillows and duvets supplied. You will also have a camping water basin (filled with hot water in the morning), paraffin lantern and hand towels. There is a portable toilet and hot water shower in camp. Limited beer, soft drinks and bottled water will be supplied, but if you have specific drink preferences you need to bring your own. From April to August (the winter months) the evenings and early mornings will be very cold, so warm clothing is essential. As space is limited, one soft bag per person is recommended.

  • Day 8 : Upper Zambezi

After breakfast cooked over an open fire and a safety briefing (where you will be required to sign an indemnity form), enjoy the 1-hour game drive upstream to our launch point.

We then set out in our canoes and spend the day paddling 11 miles (18 km) downstream through gentle grade one and two rapids on the Upper Zambezi - exploring various channels, birding and game viewing along the way. We stop for a picnic lunch at midday, before continuing down the river.

In the afternoon arrive we back at camp and transfer to Victoria Falls, where you will be dropped off at your hotel at the end of your canoe safari.

  • Day 9 : Victoria Falls

Today we recommend exploring on foot the mighty Victoria Falls and its rainforest, which offers magnificent views.

Afterwards you can participate in other optional activities such as a helicopter flight over the falls or an elephant interaction.

In the late afternoon we recommend an optional Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River where you may see hippos, crocodiles and abundant bird life.

Note: We suggest you take your own raincoat for walking in the rainforest, as those on hire are well used.

  • Day 10 : Victoria Falls

At leisure to explore the small town of Victoria Falls on the banks of the Zambezi River.

Many optional activities are available - such canoeing in the gentler rapids above the falls, abseiling or white water rafting in the turbulent gorge below the falls (grade 5). You can also watch bungi jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge.

  • Day 11 : Departure

Transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight home.
