Day 1 : Arrival Day in Kathmandu 1400m; Cordial Welcome in the Airport and Transfer to Your Hotel; Welcome D
Actually, Nepal opens in the air; just before the plane lands at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. If you are, lucky enough with the bright sunshine on your arrival day the wide range of soaring Himalayan Peaks to the North is a magnificent view. As you complete the immigration formalities of the airport and make your way out from the Arrivals Terminal, we would offer you a warm Nepalese welcome and transfer you to at Kopan Monastery in a private vehicle. A peaceful monastic environment away from bustling city life is your home for the next three days. Kopan Monastery lies on hill above terraced fields, which is also a home to 300 monks and nuns. Experience the stay with the scores of peace ambassadors that inspires your brain and soul for rest opf your life.
Day 2 : Morning Visit to Boudhanath and Join Dharma Talks At the Monastery; Afternoon Visit Patan
After the breakfast, we will drive to Boudhanath. A large domed shaped Buddhist stupa, Boudhanath holds huge religious significance among the Tibetan Buddhists of Nepal. A major shrine on ancient Indo-China trade route Boudhanath offered blessings to traders and scholars for safe journey through the high Himalayan passes to Tibet. Saffron robed monks circumambulating Boudhanath, colorful prayer flags touching the skyline from the dome pinnacle to the base of large monument and the and outlets selling Tibetan souvenirs makes this place a true Tibet outside Tibet. Then we will drive back to the monastery. At the monastery, we will join the DharmaTalks that begins at 10 AM on the weekdays. After the Dharma Talks we will enjoy our lunch at Monastery Café at around 12. Post lunch we will drive to Patan. An ancient town located to the south of Kathmandu, Patan holds historical richness of Buddhism. The city built by Charumati, the beloved princess of Emperor Ashoka has 18 major temples. The suburban region of Patan holds 4-Great Stupas of Ashoka, which stand tall in all four directions. Several other smaller stupas called Ashoka Chaityas scattered in the backstreets of Patan Durbar Square also show King Ashoka’s passion in spreading Buddhism in the region. After the exploration of Patan we will drive to Kopan Monastery. In case your visit at the monastery is during the weekend, we will customize the standard itinerary. Instead of Dharma Talks, we will attend the Buddhist Courses that begins at 3 PM every day. We will make sure you will explore very Buddhist destination inside Kathmandu as well as you will actively participate in Monastery’s activities.
Day 3 : Morning Visit to Swayambhunath and Join Dharma Classes; Afternoon Visit Pharping
Today the Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour in Kathmandu continues to Swayambhunath. A self-emerged Buddhist stupa that lies on a hilltop overlooks Kathmandu with its watchful eyes. You will get to experience more about Tibetan Buddhism at Swayambhunath. An entire hill is full of statues of Buddha in different mudras and monkeys hence giving the name “Monkey Temple” to this Heritage Site. After the exploration of Swayambhunath, we will drive back to the monastery to attend the Dharma Talks and enjoy our. Post lunch, we head to Pharping. Nineteen kilometers south of Kathmandu, an interesting monastic zone lies. A monastic zone in fact the monastic hills of Pharping are fascinating. Ethnical tribe Newars, dominate the village culturally but Tibetan Buddhism prevails at Pharping religiously. The hills where Guru Rimpoche mediated before moving to Tibet are worthwhile exploring. After exploring Pharping we will drive back to the monastery.
Day 4 : Fly to Lumbini and Explore Lumbini (182m)
After the breakfast, we will drive to the airport from where we will fly to Siddhartha Nagar (a city named after Buddha). Thirty minutes of flight will bring us to Siddhartha Nagar. On seeing, the change of surrounding landscapes our surprise has no limits. We are at low land Terai of Nepal. Thirty minutes of drive will bring us to Lumbini, birthplace of Gautama Buddha. On our arrival at Lumbini we will drive into our hotel, check in and instantly begin the tour.Amidst the beautiful Lumbini Garden, famous Mayadevi Temple (Temple dedicated to mother of Buddha), Pukarani Pond (the pond where Buddha took his first ritual dip), famous Ashoka Pillars (pillars erected by great Emperor Ashoka in 269 BC), remains of Buddhist viharas and stupas from 3rd century BC. to 15th century AD. and modern Monastic zone (several monasteries built by the government of different countries) are worthwhile sites to explore in Lumbini. After day’s exploration, we will drive back to our hotel.
Day 5 : Visit to Tilaurakot and Devdaha
Today we will explore the vicinity Buddha preferred to spend for 29 years. We will begin with Tilaurakot. Ten kilometers north of Lumbini lies Tilaurakot which has the remains of Buddha’s home and garden. The place is an important archeological site. Explore around and resume the drive to closely located Devdaha. A small town in the Eastern Rupandehi District the maternal home of Buddha, Devdaha lies. Devdaha is the birthplace of both Buddha’s mothers (Mayadevi and Prajapati). Large historical tree Pakari Brikshya that has the circumference of almost 20 meters, beautiful park with the 7 feet tall Buddha’s statue, gold-coated statue of Sariputra, floral species including Bodhi Bricha and an ancient pagoda are important sites to explore at Devdaha. Buddha preferred Devdaha during his childhood and he preached to many scholars at Devdaha on various topics. Even after enlightenment, he visited the place. Hence, Devdaha has huge religious and historical significance. After the exploration of Devdaha we will drive back to our Hotel in Lumbini.
Day 6 : Fly to Kathmandu; Afternoon Free and Farewell Dinner in the Evening
Today after the breakfast, we will fly back to Kathmandu. On arriving at Kathmandu, we will be escorted to our hotel in the city in a private vehicle. Rest of the noon is a free time to spend it on your own. In the evening, we will enjoy a dinner together at a cultural restaurant in Thamel.
Day 7 : Depart Kathmandu
This is your last day in Nepal. You may do shopping, buy some souvenirs for your family and friends until your departure transfer to the airport. As per your flight schedule, you will drive with our representative to the airport in a private vehicle. Have a safe flight and visit Nepal time and again.
