Arrive at Paro, check in hoteland visit Kichu lhakhang one of the oldest temples to have been built in Bhutan by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century AD. Also visit, Paro Museum an ancient watchtower housing the National Museum, with abundant culture relics. Later visit, Paro Dzong built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, perhaps the finest example of Bhutanese architecture as well as a local religious administrative Centre. Towards Evening religious talk by one of the Buddhist masterfor about an hour.
After breakfast drive to Thimphu. Upon reaching, visit Memorial Stupa built in 1974 in the memory of Bhutan‘s third King, His Late Majesty, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Chorten literally means ‘Seat of Faith’ and Buddhists often call such monuments, the ‘Mind of Buddha. Later visit, Zangthopelri Lhakhang built in 1960s. Temple possesses some impressive murals and art treasures and is worthy of a visit. The site of the temple was a former battle ground, and the temple was constructed there in order to pacify energies. Later visit, Drubthob Goema / Zilukha Nunnery only nunnery in capital known as Zilukha Anim Dratsang. You may interact with some of the nuns who have devoted their life to spirituality and Buddhism. Visit, Dechen Phrodrang "Palace of Great Bliss" is a Buddhistmonastery in Thimphu, where young monks undergo eight years courses. In the afternoon, visit Trashi chhodzong the “fortress of the glorious religion” Tashichhodzong houses some ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat, and the central monk body.In the Eveningreligious talk by one of the Buddhist master for about an hour.
After breakfast drive to Punakha the former capital of Bhutan. Stop at Dochulla Pass for photo shooting and to capture beautiful scenario of the mountain and Talo valley. Proceed to Chimmi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the Devine Madman and a sacred place where people pray for children. Upon reaching, visitPunakha Dzong a very beautiful Bhutanese architecture armed by the Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River) rivers, built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the unifier of Bhutan which houses some rich Buddhist collections.
After breakfast we will drive to Trongsa via Gangtey. Phobjikha valley is a paradise for nature lovers and hikers so one can enjoy the hike around the remote valley of Phobjikha. Upon arrival at Gangtey visit Gangtey Monastery, the largest and the only monastery of the Nyingmapa sect in western Bhutan. Proceed to Trongsa. Upon reaching Trongsa visit Trongsa Dzong the home of the royals and the unique watchtower which houses a newly converted museum and is very impressive.
Morning we will visit Ta-Dzong (watch tower) and drive to Bumthang, the religious heartland of the nation. Upon reaching, check in hotel and visit Kharchu Monastry the buildings composed of the Guru Lhakhang, Tshokhang (Prayer hall) capable of housing about 500 monks.
Bumthang Sightseeing.After breakfast you will visit Jakar Dzong Centre of the Bumthang region. It played an important role as the fortress of defense of the whole eastern Dzongkhag. It was also became the seat of the first king of Bhutan. At present the Dzong is use as administrative and monastery body. Later visit, Jampa Lhakhang the one of the first two Buddhist temples built in the country in the 7th century AD. Also visit, Kurje Lhakhang the site where royals are cremated. Later visit, Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake) one of the most sacred sites in the region as it is related to renowned religious treasure discoverer, Terton Pema Lingpa. In the Evening, religioustalk by one of the Buddhist master.
After breakfast you will drive to Punakha. On the way you may take a break for a short while. Proceed to your destination.
After breakfast we will drive back to Paro. Upon arrival, visit Dungtse Lhakhang a chorten-like temple built in 1433 by the iron bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. It has three floors representing hell, earth and heaven. Later visit, Jangsarbu Lhakhang located behind Paro Dzong. Temple is home to a magnificent statue of Sakyamuni Buddha that was carried all the way from Lhasa and also houses the protector deity of Paro.
Hike to Taktshang (3-4 hours walk round trip) after breakfasthike for Taktshang. “Trip to Bhutan is never complete without climbing to Taktsang”, says one tourist. Indeed it’s true as the journey there fills you with spiritual bliss.Taktshang monastery is located atop an 800 meter cliff on Paro.
