Day 1 : Arusha – Tarangire National Park Tanzania
This Budget Tanzania Lodge Safari starts with a short tour briefing in Arusha before we set off southwest towards our first Tanzanian game viewing destination, Tarangire National Park.
This diverse game park is home to a variety of wildlife and is considered one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in northern Tanzania. Tarangire Park hosts one of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania and is said to be one of the best places in East Africa to get up close to the giants.
The game park is dotted with baobab and acacia thorn trees, and home to an awesome array of birds.
Various big cats including lions, leopards and cheetahs are found here, as well as tree-climbing pythons, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and various antelope species such as gazelles.
An afternoon of superb game viewing in Tarangire Park is followed by our first overnight stay at a tented camp. The permanent safari camp offers lovely views over the rolling grasslands and arid plains between Tarangire and Manyara Lake.

Day 2 : Tarangire National Park – Mto wa Mbu
Cultural Walk – Lake Manyara National Park
On day two we travel to the lively village of Mto wa Mbu, home to people from diverse ethnic groups and backgrounds.
A short talk about the village, followed by a guided walk through the streets and surrounding rural area, provides deeper insight into the lives of the local people and their cultures.
We visit the plantations around the village, including banana and rice fields, as well as the local painting and woodcrafting workshop. We meet the medicine man of the village, tour the local brewery and see the village school. A traditional lunch is prepared by a communal women’s group.
Then on to Lake Manyara National Park, best known for its tree climbing lions and large, seasonal flamingo flocks and other water birds. The game park is home to wildlife, including elephant, hippo, buffalo, mongoose and many antelope, which can be sighted along the lake shore.
Our lodge is set on the edge of the Rift Valley overlooking Lake Manyara and the floor of the Great Rift Valley.

Day 3 : Lake Manyara Park – Serengeti National Park
On day three we leave the African Rift Valley and travel to the lush crater highlands, where we enjoy panoramic views and great photo opportunities over the Masai Plains and Lake Manyara.
Moving on to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we witness the wide open plains of southern Serengeti Park which explains why the Maasai people call it “Siringitu” - the endless plain.
The “Kopjie” (small rocky hill) dotted plains offer an ideal hunting terrain for cheetahs and the other big cats of Africa.
We stay at one of two camps located either inside the game park or on the fringes (depending on the season), arriving in the afternoon.
Day four is dedicated to game viewing in Serengeti National Park. Vantage points are chosen to give you the best possible chance to observe the wild animals and to capture the perfect photo. Depending upon the time of year, you have a chance to witness the great migration as hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra stampede across the plains.
