Day 1 : HANOI ARRIVAL
Welcome to Hanoi, arrive and transfer to city center for check in. Room is at your disposal until noon only. Meals on your own. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 : HANOI - HALONG
After breakfast, we will leave Hanoi for a 180-km journey to Halong Bay, one of UNESCO World Heritage site with its 3000 islands located in a background of limestone in Gulf of Tonkin. Coming to Halong, visitors will be impressed with the beauty of natural achievement and many wonderful types of scenery.
You will enjoy an overnight cruise on a wonderful boat floating on Halong Bay and savouring special menu of fresh seafood will absolutely bring you the best moment you have ever had. You will be served with lunch and dinner on boat. Overnight onboard.
Day 3 : HALONG BAY - HANOI
You are recommended to wake up early in the morning on this day because that is the most wonderful time for you to contemplate aquamarine water of the bay at its best. Enjoy the tea break while the boat cruising through impressive limestone surrounding the bay. Return to the Harbour, we will transfer back to Hanoi. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 : HANOI SIGHTSEEING - TAKE FLY TO DANANG - HOI AN
Full-day tour of Vietnam’s capital city, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed every Monday and Friday), his traditional stilt house, the One-Pillar Pagoda, and the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature also known as the First University of Vietnam. In the afternoon, visit the Ethnology Museum (closed every Monday) and a typically traditional Hanoi pagoda.
Then go to Noi Bai airport for taking flight to Danang. Upon go to hotel in Hoi An for check in. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 : HOI AN - MY SON - HOI AN SIGHTSEEING
Today we drive westward toward the foothills of the mountain spine of Indochina. From here we’ll hike into the sacred valley of Vietnam’s most spectacular historic and religious site. Dating back to the fourth century, My Son was the holiest site of the Champa kingdom where over a period of 900 years, 68 significant Hindu temples, most dedicated to Shiva, were built. The towers are built of a combination of perfectly fitted, mortarless, fired brick and elaborately carved sandstone bas-relief panels. Only 25 survived the centuries of pillaging by Chinese and Khmer invaders as well as U.S. bombings.
In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour in Hoi An town, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site because of its unusually well-preserved ancient streets and homes. Set out to explore the quaint cobblestone streets of the town with more than two-century-old Chinese houses. Sites include the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and Phung Hung Chinese-style trading house. Return to hotel for leisure. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 : HOI AN - DANANG - HUE - HALF DAY SIGHTSEEING
Departure for Hue via the scenic Hai Van mountain pass with beautiful panoramic views looking out over the central coastline. After a peaceful stop at the white sandy beach of Lang Co we continue on to Hue.
In the afternoon pay a visit to the majestic Imperial Citadel of Hue, located along Perfume River. Continue for a cruise on board a sampan up the placid Perfume River to visit the traditional Thien Mu Pagoda on the bank of the river. Then transferring by private car to the Tomb of Emperor Minh Mang. Back to your hotel and free at your leisure. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 : HUE - FLY TO HO CHI MINH CITY - SIGHTSEEING
Free until transfer to Hue Airport for taking the flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival, set out on a tour of the former capital of French Indochina. Historic landmarks include the Old Saigon post office, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House. Continue your tour by visiting the Reunification Palace which was used as the headquarters of the Saigon Government during the American war in the 60s. After that visit the ethnic Chinese district of Cholon with Binh Tay market. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 : HO CHI MINH - BEN TRE - HO CHI MINH
Today we depart from Ho Chi Minh City to explore Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta (130km - 2.5 - 3 hour driving). Pick up at the Phong Nam pier. Get on boat and will cruise along the Chet Say river (a branch of the Mekong) and stop off at various local workplaces to give you a picture of how the local economy works, including coconut activated charcoal factory where coconut shell is put into high heat kiln to produce coconut charcoal; a coconut processing workshop, where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products. Then the boat will cruise through the small canal, discover the local life. The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can have a short walk to experience real Delta village life, visit a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – you can even have a go at weaving yourself before boarding your xe loi (a kind of motorized rickshaw) or biking into the village where you can see farm, rice field and vegetable plan before stopping at a local house for a delicious and filling lunch, featuring such local specialties as elephant-ear fish and river shrimp, washed down with some cold drinks or beers.
It’s time to board a sampan for a relaxing trip along narrow canals. Take boat back to Pier. Back to the main road for a transfer back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 : HO CHI MINH - CU CHI TUNNELS - DEPARTURE
This morning we will leave the city by private vehicle to visit the amazing tunnel network of Cu Chi. This incredible system, covering almost 250km in length was shelter to over 16,000 Vietcong guerrillas during the wars. Initially started in 1948 to provide shelter against the French air and ground sweeps, the network went on to serve as communication routes, storage facilities, hospitals and living quarters for Vietnamese fighters throughout the American war. If you are interested (and game) you can even descend into the tunnels to learn more about the harsh conditions faced by Vietcong guerrillas who lived there. Return to the city center and go to Tan San Nhat airport for taking departure flight. Room is at your disposal until noon only. Meals on your own. END OF SERVICES.
