That is where Khardungla Pass, meaning the ‘Pass of Lower Castle,’ is located on the way from Leh to the Nubra Valley in Ladakh. It is the highest motorable road in the world as signs put up by the Border Roads Organization proudly proclaim. Today at this day of your camping & riding Ladakh tour, your riding skills will be tested while crossing the Khardong la as the road around the pass is rough, high and bumpy. Arrive at Nubra Valley and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can also enjoy a camel ride here (Camel ride on direct payment basis). Post the Diskit Monastery, proceed on with your camping & riding Ladakh tour towards Pangong Lake. The whole journey is laden with amazing sceneries of never-ending Himalayan mountain ranges. Passing such gorgeous bounties of nature, reach Pangong Lake, one of the largest brackish lakes in Asia, situated at a height of 4,250 meters. By switching our right indicator we leave the valley to enter the heart of Rupshu, the most isolated part of Ladakh. By taking the sandy and rough track with our off riding skill we reach the second most important lake of our camping & riding Ladakh tour that is Tsomoriri lake 15075 feet above mean sea level. Tsomoriri Lake (28 km long & about 8 km wide) is the breeding ground for many migratory birds including the rare bar-headed geese.Tsomoriri is mind-numbingly beautiful, Calm and sacred lake for Ladakhis. Tsomoriri is slightly higher than Pangong Tso and the water is far less brackish supporting more birdlife. The water is crystal clear and of a deep blue color. However, since the Tsomoriri Lake has no outlet, its waters are consequently brackish, although not very detectable to the taste. Explore lake, visit Korzok monastery and look out for high altitude wildlife. Overnight camping along the lakeside.
After breakfast, our journey starts from Tsomoriri towards Tsokar. Riding back from the same route up to Sumdo village and turning left we’ll reach to a high pass (Polokongka La, 16207 ft ) after crossing pass we’ll arrive at a beautiful brackish lake called Tsokar (14842 ft), one really feel, I had a ride of my life. An awesome blend of stark mountain, gorgeous landscape, occasional sightings of the nomadic people and their herds of yaks & goats are common throughout the route. Camping alongside the lake with a last night campfire celebration of your camping & riding Ladakh tour.
Today will be the last riding day of your camping & riding Ladakh tour. After half an hour ride from Tsokar soon we found ourselves riding on Manali Leh high way and by gripping the same Leh route we’ll reach to the Tanglangla pass, the second highest motorable pass and by taking not much time with photography we’ll roll down towards Leh crossing through many beautiful small villages with awesome scenery and by arriving Leh ride ends at hotel for to celebrate last night.
