Day 1 : Arrival
You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.
Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.
Day 2 : Cape Town
Today enjoy independent sightseeing in Cape Town, using your day pass for the convenient Hop-Off Bus, which stops at all Cape Town’s key sights and beaches.
The "Red Route" city bus stops at the Table Mountain base station, where you can buy a ticket to ascend by cable car and enjoy one of the world’s most famous views. Continue to Camps Bay beach and the many attractions of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Day 3 : Hout Bay
Today you will be collected from your hotel for a full day tour to the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you may see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July/November).
Your tour travels through Hout Bay and along spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape Point peninsula, returning via Simons Town, Fish Hoek, Constantia and Kirstenbosch Gardens. This is a scenic tour of the whole Cape Peninsula, with the optional opportunity of visiting the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
Day 4 : Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
Today make your own way to the Clock Tower on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in good time for the ferry to Robben Island, the infamous prison home of Nelson Mandela. The guides are all former prisoners, each able to provide their own personal insight into conditions on the island and a very poignant experience.
Balance of day free to explore the shops and restaurants of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Note: You will need to take your passport or driving licence for identification, when visiting Robben Island.
Day 5 : Franschhoek Valley
Today enjoy a full day tour to the renowned Stellenbosch Winelands, travelling through the scenic Franschhoek Valley where a handful of French Huguenot refugees started South Africa’s now famous wine industry.
Explore the historic university town of Stellenbosch and several wine estates on this famous wine route, which stretched from Paarl through to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy a cellar tour and some wine tasting, before returning to Cape Town in the late afternoon.
Day 6 : Cape Town
At leisure to relax and explore the 'Mother City' of Cape Town.
Many optional activities are available in this beautiful city. You can visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned (advance booking essential in season), Kirstenbosch Gardens and the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Golf and deep sea game fishing are available, or you can or simply relax on Camps Bay beach – the choice is yours.
Day 7 : Cape Town
This morning you will be collected from your hotel around 08.15 for your circular small group tour of the beautiful Garden Route from Cape Town.
We leave Cape Town via Du Toits Kloof Pass to Worcester and traverse the famous Route 62 passing through Montagu and the small towns of Robertson, Barrydale and Calitzdorp, where the true diversity of landscapes is highlighted through the ever-changing semi desert scenery.
Enjoy lunch along the way (included), before continuing to the ostrich capital of Oudtshoorn. Check into your hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner (included).
On escorted group tours please note that for operational reasons it is sometimes necessary to substitute one hotel with another of a similar quality. One suitcase and one shoulder bag are allowed.
Day 8 : Cango Caves
We start today with a visit to the world famous Cango Caves. This vast series of underground halls and caverns was formed over 20 million years ago in the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains. The caves, which extend for over 3 miles, contain spectacular stalagmites and stalactites and offer relatively easy access.
We continue to Cango Wildlife Ranch to see crocodiles & cheetah close up. We also visit a local Ostrich Farm to learn more about these huge flightless birds and their magnificent plumage. Here we enjoy an included lunch.
In the afternoon we drive over the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to George and Wilderness, enjoying the scenic drive along the Garden Route to the oyster capital of Knysna. Check in to your hotel on the lagoon and enjoy dinner (included).
Day 9 : Knysna
This morning enjoy free time exploring the quaint town of Knysna, before a 2.5-hour boat trip on the Keurbooms River with a picnic lunch (included)
In the afternoon we drive through Wilderness and past Dolphin Point to Mossel Bay. Here we visit the Dias Museum which has a life-sized replica of the ship that the Portuguese explorer Bartholemew Dias sailed in when he became the first European to set foot on South African soil and erected a cross here. At the centre of the complex is the famous Post Office Tree, an ancient Milkwood where early sailors left mail for homebound ships.
We then check into our hotel and enjoy dinner (included).
Day 10 : Botlierskop Nature Reserve
This morning enjoy a game drive at Botlierskop Nature Reserve, before driving to the historic town of Swellendam for lunch (included).
We continue through the apple orchards of Elgin and Sir Lowry’s Pass to Cape Town, where you will be dropped off around 18.30 at your hotel situated on the spectacular Cape Peninsula.
Day 11 : Cape Peninsula
At leisure to relax on the wonderful beaches of the Cape Peninsula under warm blue South African skies.
Many optional day tours are available, or simply relax and enjoy the beaches and many excellent restaurants.
Day 12 : Cape Peninsula
