Day 1 : Arrival
You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.
Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.
Day 2 : Cape Town
Today is free for independent sightseeing in Cape Town.
We recommend you purchase a day pass onboard the convenient Hop-Off Bus, which stops at all Cape Town’s key sights and beaches. The "Red Route" bus stops at the Table Mountain base station, where you can buy a ticket to ascend by cable car and enjoy one of the world’s most famous views. Continue to Camps Bay beach and the many attractions of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Day 3 : Cape Town
At leisure to relax and explore the 'Mother City' of Cape Town.
Many optional activities are available in this beautiful city. You can visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned (advance booking essential in season), Kirstenbosch Gardens and the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.
Golf and deep sea game fishing are available, or you can or simply relax on Camps Bay beach – the choice is yours.
Day 4 : Hout Bay
Today we recommend an optional full day tour to the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you may see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July/November).
Your tour travels through Hout Bay and along spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape Point peninsula, returning via Simons Town, Fish Hoek, Constantia and Kirstenbosch Gardens. This is a scenic tour of the whole Cape Peninsula, with the optional opportunity of visiting the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
Day 5 : Stellenbosch Winelands
Transfer 45-minutes from Cape Town to the beautiful Stellenbosch Winelands.
Check into your hotel in this famous wine producing area, relax under the giant oak trees and savour the fine food and wines of this region.
Day 6 : Stellenbosch Winelands
We recommend an optional full day tour through the renowned Stellenbosch Winelands today, travelling through the scenic Franschhoek Valley where a handful of French Huguenot refugees started South Africa’s now famous wine industry.
Explore the historic university town of Stellenbosch and several wine estates on this famous wine route, which stretched from Paarl through to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy a cellar tour and some wine tasting, before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.
Alternatively use the Vine Hopper hop-off bus to explore the Winelands by yourself.
Note: the Vine Hopper does not operate on Sundays.
Day 7 : Stellenbosch
At leisure to relax in beautiful Stellenbosch, surrounded by its mountains and vineyards.
You can explore this old university town with its many street markets, craft shops and museums, including the Modern & Contemporary Art Gallery, or visit Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Alternatively enjoy more wine tasting using the Vine Hopper hop-off bus.
Note: Vine Hopper bus does not operate on Sundays.
Day 8 : Stellenbosch
Today transfer 2.5-hours from Stellenbosch to your wildlife reserve in the heart of the Little Karoo.
After checking into your lodge, enjoy an afternoon game drive on these vast dry plains. Afterwards enjoy dinner under superb night skies that are free of light pollution.
Day 9 : Aquila Wildlife Reserve
This morning enjoy a open top game drive with your ranger in the 7,500 hectare Aquila Wildlife Reserve in the arid yet spectacularly beautiful Little Karoo.
In this rocky terrain of endless horizons you should see elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino as well as a variety of plains game such as antelope, giraffe, impala and zebra.
Afterwards relax by the lodge swimming pool, before setting out again in the afternoon for another game drive. There is also the option of a horseback safari, quad biking or a 4x4 trail. In the evening enjoy superb star gazing in the clear dark skies of the Karoo.
Day 10 : Departure
Transfer 3-hours to Cape Town Airport for your flight home.
