Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Gwalior

  Arrival From Gwalior Railway Station, Gwalior Sight Seeing, Gwalior To Orchha, Overnight Stay In Orchha.
  
  Gwalior - Gwalior Owes Its Name To A Sage Of Former Times. The Story Goes That Suraj Sen, A Prince Of The Kachhwaha Clan Of The 8Th Century, Had Lost His Way In The Jungle.
  
  On A Secluded Hill He Met An Old Man, Sage Gwalipa, Whose Influence Almost Took Him By Surprise. On Asking The Sage For Some Drinking Water He Was Led To A Pond. The Pool Waters Not Only Quenched His Thirst But Cured Him Of Leprosy As Well. Out Of Gratefulness He Wished To Offer Something In Return To The Sage And The Sage Asked Him To Build A Wall On The Hill In Order To Protect The Other Sages From Wild Animals That Often Disturbed Their Yagnas (Pujas). Later Suraj Sen Built A Palace Inside The Fort. Thus Came Up The Fort Named Gwalior, And Eventually The City That Developed Around It Got Its Name.

  Orchha Sight Seeing Orchha To Khajuraho Overnight Stay In Hotel.
  
  Orcha - On A Seasonal Island On The Bank Of The Betwa River, Which Has Been Surrounded By A Battlement Wall, Stands A Huge Palace-Fort. The Fort Consists Of Several Connected Buildings Erected At Different Times, The Most Noteworthy Of Which Are The Rajmandir And The Jahangir Mahal.
  
  The Rajmandir Is Built On A Square Base And Has An Almost Entirely Plain Exterior, Relieved By Projecting Windows And A Line Of Delicate Domes Along The Summit. The Jahangir Mahal Is Built On A Rectangular Base And Is Relieved By A Circular Tower At Each Corner Surmounted By A Dome, While Two Lines Of Graceful Balconies Supported On Brackets Mark The Central Storeys. The Roof Is Crowned By Eight Large Fluted Domes, With Smaller Domes Between Them, Connected By An Ornamental Balustrade. The Jahangir Mahal Is Considered To Be A Singularly Beautiful Specimen Of Domestic Hindu Architecture. Lakshmi Temple, Orchha.
  
  Numerous Cenotaphs Or Chhatris Dot The Vicinity Of The Fort And The Betwa River. Elsewhere About The Town There Is An Unusual Variety Of Temples And Tombs, Including The Chaturbhuj Temple, Which Is Built On A Vast Platform Of Stone. The More Unguarded And Neglected Of These Buildings Are Popular Hangouts For Tropical Bees, Wasps, And Other Such Excitable Stingy Creatures.

• Day 3 : Khajuraho

  Khajuraho Sight Seeing & Drive To Bandhavgarh.
  
  Khajuraho - The Temple City Of Central India, Is Famous Throughout The World For Its Exquisitely Carved Temples In Stones. Thousands Of Visitors And Tourists From All Over The World Flock Together To Envisage This Immortal Saga Of Hindu Art And Culture Engraved In Stone By Shilpies (Stone Craftsmen) A Millenia Ago.
  
  Today, Apart From The Temples, Khajuraho Is A Small Village But A Thousand Years Ago It Was A Large City Of The Chandelas, Medieval Rajput Kings Who Ruled Over Central India. Khajuraho Is 595 Km (370 Miles) South-East Of Delhi And Can Be Visited By Air, Rail Or Road. An Overnight Train Journey From Delhi Takes The Visitor To Jhansi, From Where Another Morning Train Takes Him To Harpalpur 85 Km (53 Miles) To The East.
  
  A Bus Or Taxi Is Available From Here For Khajuraho Which Is 98 Km ( 61 Miles) Away Via Nowgong And Chattarpur. A Direct Bus Service Between Jhansi And Khajuraho Which Are 162 Km (101 Miles) Apart Is Also Available Via Mau Ranipur, Nowgong And Chattarpur.
  
  A Traveller From Calcutta, Jabalpur, Varanasi And Allahabad Should Detrain At Satna On The Central Railway Line And Cover The Remaining 121 Km (75 Miles) Journey To Khajuraho By Bus Or Taxi Via Panna. Mahoba, A Railway Station On Jhansi-Manikpur Line, 83 Km (52 Miles) From Khajuraho Is Connected By Road.
• Day 4 : Bandhavgarh

  Bandhavgarh (Jungle Safari Am & Pm Safari).
  
  Bandhavgarh - Situated In Shahdol And Jabalpur Districts, The Park With An Area Of 437 Km Was Set Up In 1968. The Nearest Town From The Park Is Umaria, 35 Km Away. This Town Is Also The Nearest Rail Head. The Nearest Airport Is At Jabalpur At A Distance Of 160Km.
  
  The Park Contains Moist Deciduous Forests With Sal And Other Trees With Large Stretches Of Grass Lands With Bamboo Groves. The Fauna Consists Of Tiger, Panther, Leopard, Gaur, Chausingha, Nilgai, Chinkara, Sloth Bear, Bear, Wild Boar, And A Variety Of Birds.
