Package Overview

Chardham Package includes four very famous temples of Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand is located in north India and known as Devbhoomi (land of gods).
Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are four famous temples located in the Himalayan mountains of Uttarakhand.
Since ancient times, the importance of the Char Dham as pilgrimage destination has grown considerably.
Chardham is currently one of the most famous pilgrimage circuits in India with Hindu pilgrims across the world.
Every year thousands of tourists visit these holy temples to get a blessing as well as mesmerized by beauty of Himalaya.
It will be certainly great experience for pilgrims as well as nature lovers.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Haridwar – Barkot

  Morning meet our representative at your Hotel / Airport / Railway Station.
  After some basic information start your journey to Barkot. Later drive to Barkot.
  Check into the hotel arrival in Barkot. Overnight stay at Barkot.

• Day 2 : Barkot - Janakichatti - Yamunotri - Jankichatti – Barkot

  Today, bit early in the morning drive to Janki Chatti. From here start trek to Yamunotri.
  Either by walk or by mule or by palanquin on own expenses.
  Yamunotri is the source of the sacred river Yamuna that originates from the glacial lake of Saptarishi Kund,
  at an altitude of 4,421 meters. Dedicated to capricious Goddess Yamuna, this ancient temple has been a
  pilgrimage for centuries. Starting at Rishikesh, the yatra takes the pilgrim through some of the
  most beautiful panoramas, and eventually on the 14 kilometer arduous trek from Hanuman Chatti
  that is not merely visually and physically stimulating but spiritually uplifting.
  
  After visiting the temple return to hotel in Barkort. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Barkot.

• Day 3 : Barkot - Uttarkashi

  Today morning after breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi. En-route visits the Shiv Gufa at Mahargaon.
  
  Shiv Gufa is a naturally formed cave at Mehargaon on the Yamunotri – Uttarkashi Road. In the cave, one can see a
  naturally formed Shivling – water naturally falls on top of it continuously.
  The Gufa also has naturally formed ice sculptors of Shiva, Ganesha, Trishul, Lotus and Om.
  The Cave is filled with knee deep water. Only four people can stand at a time in the cave.
  You can hear the sounds of water falling in the cave.
  After visiting the cave continue your drive to Uttarkashi. Upon arrival, check in at hotel.
  Overnight is at the hotel in Barkot. In the evening visit Vishwanath Temple at Uttarkashi town.
  
  The Viswanath Temple is the most important and ancient holy shrine in this region.
  Of the many temples in Uttarkashi, the temple of Lord Vishwanath is unrivalled in importance.
  Shiva, the presiding deity of this temple, is worshipped all day here.
  Every evening, visitors are greeted by the sound of bells, and the chanting of mantras by pundits at the puja.
  Within the courtyard of the Vishwanath temple, and to the front of it, is the Shakti Temple,
  dedicated to the goddess of strength. The massive brass trident projecting from this temple bears an
  inscription describing how the Vishwanath Temple was built. According to it, the temple was built by King Ganeshwar,
  whose son Guh, a great warrior, built the trident. 26 feet high, this trident's base measures 8 feet 9 inches,
  and its top, 18'/2 inches in circumference.

• Day 4 : Uttarkashi - Gangotri – Harsil - Uttarkashi

  Early morning after breakfast, drive to Gangotri. On the way visit Gangnani Hot Spring.
  Take a holy dip in Kund. Later drive to Gangotri via beautiful Harsil valley.
  On arrival at Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin.
  Perform Pooja and Darshan, after that relax for some time in the lovely surroundings.
  Later return drive to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

• Day 5 : Uttarkashi - Guptkashi / Phata

  Morning after breakfast, drive to Guptkashi. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara.
  The Mandakini River comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi,
  visit Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Guptkashi / Phata.
  Overnight stay at Guptkashi / Phata.

• Day 6 : Guptkashi / Phata - Sonprayag - Kedarnath ji

  Morning after breakfast drive to Saunprayag, start your trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath (by
  Pony / Doli / Helicopter at your own cost). Visit Kedarnath Temple.
  After temple Darshan and then take some rest, have dinner and overnight
  stay at your pre booked arrangement in Kedarnath ji (At your own Cost).

• Day 7 : Kedarnath ji - Sonprayag - Guptkashi / Phata

  Today morning visit Kedarnath Temple. After the visit, start your trek down to Gaurikund take lunch in Gourikund / Sonprayag.
  Drive back to Guptkashi / Phata.
  Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay is at hotel in Guptkashi / Phata

  After breakfast proceed to Pipalkoti via Rudraparyag,
  Check inn hotel have dinner.

• Day 9 : Pipalkoti– Joshimath- Badrinath- Pipalkoti

  Early morning, after having breakfast, have Badrinath darshan and return back to pipalkoti via
  mana village, Vishnuprayag, Narsingh mandir Joshimath after back to hotel.
  Have dinner and overstay at pipalkoti.

• Day 10 : Pipalkoti- Rudraprayag- Devprayag- Rishikesh- Haridwar

  After breakfast drive back towards Haridwar end route visit-
  Vishnuprayag Nandprayag, Karnprayag, Rudraprayag,
  Devprayag (Panch Prayag), Dharidevi temple and Rishikesh.
  
  On reach haridwar we will drop at your convenient location.

CHARDHAM TOURIST INSTRUCTION

• Any sightseeing done other than mentioned in the itinerary will be an additional charge

• Lakhamandal: is an ancient Hindu temple complex, situated in the Jaunsar-Bawar region
• of Dehradun district in the Uttarakhand. The temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. This
• temple is popular among the Shakti Cult, who believe that a visit to this temple shrine will
• end their misfortunes.
• Triyuginarayan Temple: is a Hindu temple located in the Triyuginarayan village in
• Rudraprayg in Uttarakhand. The ancient temple is dedicated to god Vishnu. Its fame is
• credited to the legend of god Shiva’s marriage to goddess Parvati witnessed by Vishnu at
• this venue and is thus a popular pilgrimage centre. A special feature of this temple is a
• perpetual fire that burns in front of the temple. The flame is believed to burn from the
• times of the divine marriage. Thus, the temple is also known as Akhand Dhuni temple.
• Chopta: is a small region of meadows and evergreen forest area which is a part of
• kedarnath wildlife sanctuary located in Uttarakhand state, India and a base for trekking to
• Tungnath, third temple of Panch Kedar, which lies 3.5 kilometres (2.2 miles) away.
• Located at a distance of 1.5 kilometres (0.93 miles) from Tungnath is Chandrashila, a
• rising to over 4,000 metres (13,0 00 ft).
• Tungnath: is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is the highest of the five Panch
• Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the
• Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tunganath (literal meaning: Lord of the p eaks)
• mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. Located at an altitude of
• 3,680 m (12,073 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila, Tungnath temple is the
• highest Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to be 5000 years old
• and is the third (Tritiya Kedar) in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars . It has a rich
• legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata epic.
• Auli: is a ski destination in Chamoli district in the Himalayan mountains of Uttarakhand,
• India. Auli, also known as Auli Bugyal, in Garhwali, which means "meadow", is located at
• an elevation of 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) to 3,050 metres (10,010 ft) above sea level. After
• the creation of the state of Uttarakhand, formerly part of Uttar Pradesh, Auli was
• marketed as a tourist destination. Auli lies on the way to the Hindu pilgrimage destination
• of Badrinath. It is surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, with a panoramic view of the
• peaks of the Himalayas. The slopes are intended for both professional skiers and novices.
• The Garhwal Mandal Vika s Nigam Limited (GMVNL) a state govt agency which takes care
• of this resort and Uttarakhand Tourism Department conduct winter sports competitions
• at Auli to encourage skiing in India. It has a 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) cable car, a chairlift and
• a ski lift, along with a maintained trek route. There is a training facility of Indo-Tibetan
• Border Police. A small Hindu temple connected with the Hindu epic the Ramayan is also
• present.

Weather Conditions:

• Your journey shall involve trekking across high mountains, facing strong cold winds. You must carry:-
• (i) adequate woolen clothing; (ii) a small umbrella; (iii) Winchester; (iv) raincoat; (v) waterproof trekking
• shoes; (vi) torch (vii) walking stick; (viii) cap (preferably a monkey cap; (ix) gloves; (x) jacket; (xi) woolen
• socks; (xii) trousers (preferably a waterproof pair).
• These items are essential as the climate is highly unpredictable and changes abruptly from sunny weather to
• rain and snow. The temperature can sometimes abruptly fall to 5 degree Celsius or lower.
