Day 1 : Arrival / Shanghai
On arrival at Shanghai Airport, you will be met in the Arrivals Hall by your tour guide and transfer to your hotel by MAGLEV Train. The MAGLEV (Magnetic Levitation) train travels at 431 kph and covers 30 km in just over 7 minutes, making it one of the fastest commercial trains in the world. After a short break at the hotel, your guide will take you for lunch and then a visit to the Shanghai Museum, one of the finest museums in China. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a cruise on the Huangpu River. The Huangpu River offers some remarkable views of the Bund, and on this evening cruise there is a stark neon contrast between old and new Shanghai, overnight in Shanghai.
Day 2 : Shanghai
This morning starts with a visit to the Bund. The Bund is one of Shanghai’s most famous historical areas. Near the Bund is Nanjing Road, Shanghai’s ultimate shopping experience and a place also considered the busiest shopping street in the world. Afterwards, continue onto Yu Yuan Gardens and the adjoining Chenghuangmiao Bazaar (Chinatown). The gardens are a rather lavish affair occupying two hectares in the city. The Chenghuangmiao bazaar located just outside the famous garden is a fun place to shop for all sorts of produce from replica brands to food. After lunch, you will cross the river to visit the Shanghai World Financial Center. A magnificent addition to the Pudong Skyline, The Shanghai World Financial Center stands at 492m and boasts the world’s highest observation deck. After dinner, enjoy the Acrobatic show, overnight in Shanghai.
Day 3 : Shanghai - Suzhou
After breakfast, you will depart for the town of Suzhou. Suzhou is famous for its silk production, canals and gardens. The gardens in Suzhou are real works of art, a fusion of nature, architecture, poetry and painting designed to ease, move and assist the mind. The Humble Administrator’s Garden is the largest garden in Suzhou and the most famous and representative of Suzhou’s gardens. Within the garden walls, there are lots of great sights, filled with history and legends. Visit the silk spinning factory to see the process of getting silk cocoons to threads. After lunch, visit the Garden of Master of Nets, situated in the southern part of Suzhou. It is one of the smallest (a little over one acre) yet considered one of the best designed and most elegant of the private gardens still in existence, overnight in Suzhou.
Day 4 : Suzhou - Hangzhou
This morning depart Suzhou for Lu Zhi, an ancient water town near Suzhou with beautiful gardens, canals and tea houses. Enjoy a boat ride on the canal and visit the delicate private gardens before arriving in Hangzhou in the late afternoon. A visit to the green tea plantation will show you how they pick the best tea leaves to get the perfect cup of green tea. Overnight in Hangzhou.
Day 5 : Hangzhou - Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a cruise on the famous West Lake. One of the strongest examples of classical Chinese beauty, it has inspired poets and painters since its creation in the 8th century. It’s an absolute must see. Then continue to visit Huagang Park by the lake. In the afternoon, visit Huqingyutang, the traditional Chinese Medicine Museum. Overnight in Hangzhou. (B/L) Day 6 Hangzhou - Shanghai/Departure Farewell Hangzhou as your guide transfers you to Shanghai Airport in time for your onward flight.
