Day 1 : Arrival in Rome
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Evening transfer to the Trastevere district Your exciting European vacation would begin your arrival in Rome. Often called as the ‘The Eternal city’, it has an artistic heritage that holds a historical legacy unparalleled in the world. Apart from its artistic and historical charms, the city's Mediterranean rhythms and picturesque streets make it a highly popular destination.Upon your arrival at the airport, get a transfer to the hotel, where a guide would be waiting to greet you; he/she shall provide you with all the necessary information about this exciting trip. After the check-in, you could relax in your room and get freshened up to take on some sightseeing. In the evening, get a transfer to the Trastevere area. Providing a perfect introduction to the great charms of Rome, this neighbourhood is laden with modest medieval churches and small shops selling interesting paraphernalia. There are also many trattorias (Italian eating places) and osterias (inns) laden with cosy Italian vibes serving some amazing local dishes. You can also gorge on other sumptuous cuisines like Indian, Chinese and other International ones in this area. After a fun day of getting to know the city, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight’s stay.
Day 2 : Rome City Tour
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: City tour of Rome |A visit to the Roman Coliseum (admission price included) and the Vatican City. Wake up to a beautiful Romanian morning and relish upon a sumptuous breakfast buffet. After this, proceed for a scenic tour of Rome. The first stop on this day full of sightseeing is the tiny state of Vatican. A principal centre of Christianity in the world, it has a beautiful and the most prominent of Romanian structures, like St. Peter’s Basilica which you would get to visit on this tour. Being Italy’s largest, richest and most spectacular basilica, it pays homage to Michelangelo’s genius.After this, head to the Roman Coliseum (admission included), the principal symbol of Rome and venue for some glorious gladiatorial fights dating back to 2,000 years. Later in the evening, get a transfer to the Via Cavour area. Here, you can discover the culinary delights of Italy and eat dinner (own expense) from the various restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food. After enjoying a delicious dinner, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight’s stay.
Day 3 : Rome Florence
After your Rome rendezvous, head towards Florence, a city considered as the cradle of Italian Renaissance. The journey to this Italian metropolis is graced with ethereal and breath-taking landscapes. Upon your arrival, head straight for a quintessential tour of the city. The first stop is at Piazzale Michelangelo, one of the best and most famous lookouts for a stunning view of Florence, at both day and night. Built in 1869 on top of a hill, this piazza was designed by an architect Giuseppe Poggi and is dedicated to the Renaissance sculptor Michelangelo.Later in the evening, go for a walk through the historic centre with a local expert, who would be showing you around places such as Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, and Plaza della Signoria. Whereas Ponte Vecchio is a bridge made out of medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental arch over the Arno River, noted for having jewellery and souvenir shops built along it, Plaza della Signoria is an L shaped square, built right in front of it. Lastly, Duomo is a gothic style cathedral, one of the main in the city. Post this, you would have some free time to go explore about this outdoor museum-like city. While you are doing so, discover a variety of culinary delights (at your own expense) at many restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food. Return to the hotel after a sumptuous meal, for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 4 : Florence - Venice.
Leaving the beautiful city of Venice behind, move towards Verona, a medieval old town situated in northern Italy along a winding river called Adige. The town has been and is still quite popular for being the setting of one of the most famous of Shakespeare’s plays, ‘Rome and Juliet’. A guide would be present to guide you through the area and all the places where you could walk about and explore. After this, continue on your journey and proceed towards Salzburg, Austria known for its Imperial history, baroque architecture and mountains. The entire journey is laden with mesmerizing sceneries of the mountains with snow-covered peaks. Upon your arrival in Salzburg, a guide would accompany you to the beautiful streets of the historic centre of the city which is a declared World Heritage site. The city is situated on the border of Germany. Explore the city at your own pace. When the day has ended and you are in need of some rest, head to your hotel for a comfortable overnight’s stay. Please Note: In cases where there are only a few travellers on the trip, the journey from Verona to Salzburg might be done partially by a train.
Day 5 : Salzburg - Vienna
Bid adieu to Salzburg and travel to Vienna at noon. Once you reach the city, start with a scenic visit around this impressive city with a local expert. The city is known for its grand palaces, vibrant city centre and majestic avenues. Then, directly head towards the Schönbrunn Palace, a summer residence known for its culture and architecture. Take a stroll around and enjoy its beautiful gardens.In the evening, visit a public square called the City Hall Square. Here, you could shop and enjoy the lighting and the nightlife in the neighbouring streets. You could also dine at your preferred restaurant with cuisines from around the world including Austrian, Chinese, Indian and Italian. When the day has ended and you are in need of some rest, head to your hotel for a comfortable overnight’s stay.
Day 6 : Departure from Vienna
After a sumptuous breakfast buffet, your great European vacation comes to an end. Hope you have a pleasant trip!
