Day 1 : Cochin
Arrival at Cochin. Pick-up and transfer to hotel. After getting fresh and breakfast start for local sight seeing. Prime spots to be visited are,
Dutch Palace: Built by the Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi, the Dutch renovated the palace in 1663.
Chinese Fishing Net: These huge cantilevered fishing nets are the legacy of one of the first visitors to the Malabar Coast. Erected here between 1350 & 1340 AD by traders from the court of Kublaikhan, these nets are built of teak wood and bamboo poles.
Cochin Fort: An obscure fishing village that became the first European Township in India.
Day 2 : Alleppey
After your breakfast departure for Alappuzha (Alleppey) which is 64 kms from Cochin (Kochi) 2-hours journey by bus. From Alleppey you will be riding boat/cruise to enjoy 8-hours backwater tour up to Kollam. From Kollam you will be taken to Trivendrum by road which is 72kms. 2-hours journey. Check in Hotel. O/n stay at hotel.
Alappuzha: Also known as the Venice of the east, Alappuzha is famous for its boat races, houseboat holidays, beaches, Marine products and coir industry. A singular characteristic of this land is the region called Kuttanad. The granary of Kerala, Kuttanad is one of the few regions in the world where farming is done below sea level.
Kollam: One of the oldest ports of the Malabar Coast, Kollam was once the center of the international spice trade. North of Thiruvananthpuram, the renowned Ashtamudi Lake covers 30% of this historic town. The 8-hour boat trip between Kollam and Alappuzha is the longest and most enchanting experience of Kerala’s backwaters.
Day 3 : Kanyakumari
After your breakfast start for Trivendrum local sight seeing. The prime spots to be visited are, Padmanabhswamy Temple (Curved in wooden structure), Napier Museum, Sri Citra art gallery, science and technology museum and Kovalam.
Kovalam: This internationally renowned beach resort is favorite haunt of tourists since 1930. Kovalam consists of three adjacent crescent beaches. The southernmost, known as the lighthouse beach, is the most popular of the three.Departure for Kanyakumari. Check-in Hotel . O/n stay at hotel.
Day 4 : Vivekanand
On this day after your breakfast visit Vivekanand Rock Memorial-Where Swami Vivekanand used to seat for meditation, Vivekanandpuram –The complex of various projects and museums of Eknathji Ranade Founder of the Vivekanand Rock Memorial, Suchindram Temple –Temple of Sh. Brahma, Sh. Vishnu & Sh. Mahesh. Departure from Kanyakumari to Periyar. On arrival Check-in Hotel. O/n stay at hotel.
Day 5 : Periyar
After your breakfast visit Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary.
Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, Thekkady: Rolling hills tea and cardamom plantations welcomes you to Thekkady. One of the largest wildlife reserves in India. The Periyar wild life sanctuary is more popular as a tiger reserve. A boat ride on the splendid Periyar Lake is the best way to experience the sanctuary. The greatest attraction here is the herds of wild elephants that come down to the Lake to frolic in the waters. Tiger, Sambar, Bison, Spotted deer, leopard, Malabar flying squirrel, Strip-Necked Mangoos & so on can also be spotted in the forest.
Return back to hotel for your O/n stay.
Day 6 : Munnar
After breakfast departure from Periyar to Munnar. Check-in Hotel. After getting fresh visit local tea gardens.
Munnar: 1600 m above sea level, Munnar is nature lover’s paradise & was the summer resorts of the British Government in South India. Sprawling tea plantations, Picture-book towns, Winding lands and holiday facilities make this a popular hill station.
Return back to hotel for your O/n stay.
Day 7 : Departure
After your breakfast departure for Cochin. You will be dropped at Cochin (Ernakulam) railway station to board your train.
