Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 :

Arrival at the international airport “Manas”. Your guide will meet you at arrivals. Transfer to a hotel in Bishkek for check in. Short rest and breakfast. After breakfast transfer to Ala Archa Natural Park located in a picturesque gorge 45 km from Bishkek.
We spend some time in the park enjoying the beautiful views. Barbeque lunch. Transfer in the afternoon to Bishkek for a short sightseeing tour – Manas Monument, the main national hero of the Kyrgyz people. Then excursion to Fine Arts Museum and transfer to the main Ala Too Square to watch the ceremony of the Guard of Honor changing, main governmental buildings, and finish at TheOld Square in front of the Parliament House.
Day 2 :

In the morning drive to Burana Tower (Unesco site) near Tokmok city (1,5 hours). After excursion at the archeological complex you have lunch in Kazakh family house in Tokmok city, where you can learn more about the life of local people. In the afternoon transfer to Chon Kemin Valley. Upon arrival accommodation in Ashuu Tor guesthouse. You can take a walk in this typical Kyrgyz village and get ready for the next rafting journey.
Day 3 :

The guide will pick you up at the guesthouse and take you to the start point of the trace. Next you meet the rafting team and get all necessary instructions and help with the equipment and boats. Full day of rafting in Chon Kemin river. Difficulty 2-4 ( 25 km of rafting – 2 times in one day= 50 km).
Picnic lunch. After rafting – transfer to the guesthouse for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 :

After breakfast you meet your horseback guide and his team. After brief instructions start riding to Kalmak-Ashuu grasslands (Kyrg. “jailoo”) After some hours of riding we set our camp. Overnight in tents at 3100m. (Riding time 3-4 hours).
Day 5 :

After breakfast we spend the morning hiking in Kalmak Ashuu pass (3539m). There is a spectacular view from the top of the pass of the whole Chon Kemin valley with the beautiful lake Issyk Kul behind. A short rest and then we ride down the pass for lunch. Descent to the old water reservoir near Balykchy to continue your transfer in vehicles to Karkara gorge. (Riding time 4-5 hours).
Day 6 :

In the morning you take a helicopter ride over one of the longest non polar glaciers in the world and the major in the Tien Shan range – The Inylchek, and the enigmatic Merzbacher lake. The helicopter lands in “South Inylchek” Base Camp at the altitude of 4200 m above sea level. From the camp you can see the highest peaks of this region – Pobeda (7439 m) and Khan Tengri (7010 m). This is the best time to enjoy the views, take wonderful pictures and explore the area (Watch your step while walking on this soil, which is full of cravasses and could be very slippery sometimes. Remember that you are on a glacier!).
Lunch at the Base Camp. Flight back to Karkara Base Camp in the afternoon. Dinner.
Day 7 :

We stop in our way to visit the tomb, museum and memorial complex named after N. M. Przhevalski, the outstanding Russian explorer of Asian continent. Upon arrival to Karakol town you visit the Dungan mosque, the old Russian Orthodox Church – Holy Trinity Cathedral. After lunch in a local café – transfer to Karakol gorge in off-road vehicles. At additional cost it is possible to use the sauna. Dinner and overnight in “Karakol” tent camp at 2500m.
Day 8 :

We descent along the gorge about 1 km, then we pass a bridge over the river and the trail leads us into a forest. The long ascent finishes on a steep slope covered with grass, the trail here turns into a serpentine. We cross a shallow creek and arrive to an unusual wood hut called “Sirota”. There is a table, few benches and a fireplace inside. There are a number of sculptures of animals and idols carved in wood scattered around the hut. It looks like a scene from a fairy tale. This is a nice place to sit, rest and have a snack. Leaving the forest behind and going higher along the river we reach a beautiful waterfall, which flows down from Ala Kol Lake. Dinner and overnight in “Ala Kol” tent camp at 3600m.
Day 9 :

The moraine lake Ala Kol stretches from east to west about 2.8 km, its width is 500m, its depth – 70m. Ala Kol means Colorful Lake in Kyrgyz language. Depending on the ambient light the water might change its color. It can be emerald green, turquoise with white clouds reflected, light green or dark grey, or even black. During the ascent we enjoy the wonderful views of the lake. On getting closer to the lake we can see the main range of Terskei Ala Too with a number of peaks – Aksu, Djigit, Karakol, Oguz Bashi, etc. Hiking up from the bank of the lake will take another hour and half before we reach the pass. The we descent by the talus and cross further the wide valley of Keldike with its picturesque landscapes, herds of cattle and flocks of grazing sheep. Later the trail brings us into a forest again and descends into the valley. Upon arrival to the tent camp you can have an opportunity to relax on the thermal baths that where built on the basis of the natural hot springs (up to +50C) of Arashan valley. Dinner and overnight in “Altyn Arashan” tent camp at 2600m
Day 10 :

There is a resort Altyn Arashan founded 1963, famous for its hot mineral springs. The resort represents several wooden huts located on a big treeless meadow on the right bank of Arashan river. The Northern slopes of the left river bank are covered with fir trees. It gives an unforgettable picture – dark green trees with snowcapped mountains “Aksu wall” (5022m) in the background. Transfer to Cholpon Ata town. It is possible to walk among green blooming fields and crystal mountain springs. The final 5 km of the gorge is a very narrow serpentine no more than 30 m width surrounded by high rock walls. At the low part of the valley we pass along Ak Suu village (the name comes from the hot springs). Here you will take your sits inside the car. Accommodation in a hotel at the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.
Day 11 :

After breakfast you will be transferred to Son Kul Lake. Short stop at Orto Tokoi water reservoir and Kochkor village. Visit the Handicraft museum and little handicraft shop where tourists can buy different souvenirs made from felt. Lunch in a local family house. After lunch we continue our way to Son Kul Lake over Kalmak Ashuu pass (3447 m.). Upon arrival to Son Kul Lake accommodation in the Yurt Camp. Dinner and overnight.
Day 12 :

Full day cycling at Son Kul lake area. You will take our cycles and visit local nomads who graze their flocks of sheep and herds of horses. It is a nice opportunity to meet nomads, learn more about their life and take photos, taste their fresh “airan” (yogurt) and “kumis” (a fermented national drink from mare’s milk).
Day 13 :

In the morning after breakfast we drive back to Bishkek city. We pass through “Boom Gorge”, which lies at the eastern end of the Kyrgyz Range and provides the only corridor between Chui and Issyk Kul regions.
Day 14 :

Morning transfer to airport to catch your flight back home.
