Day 1 : Arrival at Paro
The flight to the country’s only airport can be a topic of conversation for visitors as it is operated manually and has to make a strategic landing between valleys and a short runway. However, once you enter the country, it is amazing to notice clear views of small valley floors and even smaller number of people and houses. And it is only inevitable to have clean crisp mountain air surround you and bring a smile on your face. And that is just the beginning
You will be greeted but unique looking but friendly representatives of (Bhutan Kinrab Travels) family. After formal introduction you will be driven to your hotel, and if you have any doubts about the program, our knowledgeable guides will be ready to help you
If you are not jetlagged and tired, we can take a pleasant evening walk through the town and explore shops, and meet the local Bhutanese people at their evening every day routines.

Day 2 : Hike to Tiger’s Nest
Your cultural hikes begin right away as we understand your excitement. Today we will offer you a first-hand experience of one of the most sacred sites of the country, the Taktsang Monastery (the Tiger’s lair). This rich architectural structure is situated on a breath-taking 900 meters cliff from the base of Paro valley. From the drop off point, it takes approximately 2 hours to this hermitage with a view point to catch your breath. The legend has it that the great Buddhist saint, Guru Padma Sambhava, rode on a tigress’ back and meditated here on the cliffs. Later on in the 17th century, the temple was built to commemorate its sacredness. Since then it has become one of the most revered sanctum for Buddhists, and every Bhutanese make it a point to visit it at least once in their life time.
Afternoon can be spent at leisure to prepare yourself for the next day.

Day 3 : Chele La Hike
At about 3750m/ 12,337 ft, Chele la is the highest point of Motorable pass in the country. For a start we will take a hike up along beautiful meadows to an altitude of about 4,100 m/ 13,489 from where we will descend down to a well known nunnery called Kila Gompa. If permitted by the weather, all along we will be able to enjoy the breathtaking views of the snowcapped mountains.
After a hot picnic lunch, there will be a little more descend down to the road point, but as you walk you will come across different medicinal flowers and plants.
This evening also, you can take a good rest that your body and mind deserves.

Day 4 : Hike to Cheri Monastery, Thimphu
Thimphu will be a very comfortable drive for just about an hour. The capital city of Bhutan has lot many to offer to visitors in terms of culture, and a look into the modernizing trend of a developing nation. A drive for about 45 minutes to the north of the city will bring extreme differences in vegetation and people and places to your notice. The destination has three main highlights, namely Tango monastery, an important Buddhist institute, Jigme Dorji Wildlife Sanctuary, the largest protected area in the country, and the Cheri monastery, where the first Buddhist community in the country was established. The monastery was built in 1620 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, and it holds the ashes of the his father, Lama Tenpi Nima. Adorned with beautiful frescoes of Buddhist saints, the monastery offers a peep into the old religious tradition and culture.
Lunch will be served on a bank of the Thimphu river on our way down to the city. In the evening we can take a walk through the town and see the difference in city structure and its people compared to the rest of the towns in the country. People are modernized and almost everyone can speak English. However, traditional dress and greetings in local language is still integral elements of pride, and honor of the nation.

Day 5 : Thimphu to Punakha
Half way towards Punakha will get us to the famous Dochula pass (3050m/ 10,034 ft) marked by the 108 stupas for the peace of the country and the whole world. If favored by weather, one can see the stunning panoramic view of Bhutan’s major Himalayan peaks, including the highest, Jichu Drakey. We will take a hike to an isolated temple called Lungchuzay which not many tourists explore because of limited time. This serene temple dates back to 14th century and provides better view of the best views of the natural settings compared to from the road. The trail gradually goes up through the forest of rhododendrons, magnolias, birches, firs, hemlocks and bamboos, occasionally passing by meadows that are being used as yak pastures. We then continue to subtropical Punakha region.

Day 6 : Punakha
Punakha and its amazingly located Dzong has been a subject of much interest because of its rich history. This subtropical region also is popular for numerous varieties of flora and fauna, vegetables and fruits and other staple crops as it is a very fertile land. It was also the old capital of Bhutan until 1955. Built in 1637, the Dzong presently houses the office of the governor and the district administration, and the residence of the district monk body. It is also the winter residence of the Central Monastic Body and the Chief Abbot of Bhutan. The tour will also comprise of visits to Talo and Nobgang villages which is the native home town of the four Queen Mothers of Bhutan. We can explore the village with a little walk through the beautiful fields with a different village set up.

Day 7 : Punakha to Gangtey
On the mid way of this journey we will be visiting the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, strategically perched on a spur at the confluence of two rivers. This region is famous for fine bamboo works, stone carvings, and slate products manufacturing.
We leave this windy region for the chilly Phobjikha valley in Gangtey which is about 3 hours in total. This drive on the mountain road will take us through oak and rhododendron forests and interesting bamboo shrubs. This valley is probably the most beautiful in the country as it stretches very long through the shallow valley base. it is the winter home of the exotic near-extinct Black-necked Cranes. And it is also a home to an important Buddhist monastery in the country.

Day 8 : Hike over Kayche La
Today, we drive back to the main highway and continue towards a major pass, Pelela and stop at Longtey village. This hike takes about 6 hours of the day across another pass called Kaychela (3,700m/ 12,173 ft), from where we will take the route back to Gangtey. This area provides sanctuary for different kinds of vegetation, and is popular especially for medicinal plants and flowers, and is also a bird watcher’s paradise.

Day 9 : Gangtey to Thimphu
In the morning, we will start with the last hike through the village called Chitokha. This area is the winter home for yak herders and other mountain dwellers as it is little warmer. This hike will take us through thickets of shrub bamboos and meadows to the thick forests of rhododendron, hemlock, fir and then down into sub tropical forest of oaks as we reach Wangdue Phodrang area.
After lunch, we will take a leisure drive back to Thimphu, and if your exploring spirits are still high, we can take a walk in the town for some last minute shopping.

Day 10 : Departure from Paro
After breakfast in the hotel,family will drive you to Paro in time to catch your flight to onward destination.
