Day 1 : Paro to Thimphu.
On arrival at Paro airport, after immigration and custom formalities, team of Legpai Bhutan will receive the guest(s) and drive towards Thimphu. After lunch, visit Bhutan National Bank for currency exchange and then you can get an opportunity to purchase exquisite collector Bhutanese stamps from Bhutan post office, which is very close to Bhutan National Bank. Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2 : Thimphu day hike to Tango and Cheri monasteries.
Start at 7:30am and drive 12km north of Thimphu to hike to Tango and Cheri monasteries. It will take about 45 minutes to hike to the monastery. Tango Monastery is a Buddhist college, and it's the residence of the Desi Tenzin Rabgye, a young boy who is the reincarnation of the 16th-century monk who built Tango. After picnic lunch at the base of Cheri monastery, then hike to Cheri monastery, this is also about 45-minutes hike. In the evening visit the School of Arts and Crafts (also known as the painting school) en route towards Thimphu town. Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 3 : Thimphu to Wangdue via Punakha.
Start early at 8:00am towards Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan, passing through Dochu-La Pass (3150m altitude) from where snow-capped eastern Himalayan ranges can be seen on a clear day. After that drive down into a warm fertile valley of Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong. After lunch take a fascinating hike through fields of vegetables and tiny hamlets to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten. This Chorten holds very special significance being consecrated in 1999 and dedicated to the protection of His Majesty, King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. Overnight stay at Wangdue.
Day 4 : Wangdue to Bumthang
Start early at 7:30am towards Trongsa through oak and rhododendron forest to by passing Pele-la pass (3,351m altitude). On the way visit Chendebji Chorten erected in the 18th century by a Tibetan lama to cover the remains of an evil spirit that was subdued at this spot. It is built in 18th century in Nepalese style, with painted eyes at the four cardinal points. After lunch at Trongsa visit Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong Museum. In the early evening drive towards Bumthang, that is 68km from Trongsa. Overnight stay at Bumthang.
Day 5 : Bumthang Sightseeing.
After breakfast at 7:30am drive through Tang Valley. En route visit Tang Member Tsho (Burning Lake) from where Saint Pemalingpa had discovered several hidden treasures from the lake. After that visit
Ugyenchholing palace, which is also a museum and cluster villages along the path is worth visiting. After having packed lunch at Kizum drive back to Chamkhar. On the way visit the only Buddhist Institute which provides degree in Buddhist philosophy for women which was founded by 9th Gangtey Tulku Rinpoche, the present reincarnation of Saint Pemalingpa. Overnight stay at Bumthang.
Day 6 : Hike to Tharpaling
Start early at 7:30am to hike towards Tharpaling monastery (3600m altitude), one of the most beautiful and holiest place in Bhutan. We can also visit Chödrak Monastery, a place where Guru Rinpoche meditated. Above the monastery there is a meditation cave of Guru Rinpoche, a meditation cave of Longchenpa and a rock throne, where Longchenpa wrote part of the Seven Treasures. After lunch walk down to Domkhar Dzong and then check in the Chumey Nature Resort. You can visit the village on your own. Overnight stay at Chumey.
Day 7 : Bumthang to Phobjikha
Start at 7:30am towards Gangtey by passing through Pele la Pass (3351m altitude). After that descend from the pass through the dwarf bamboo and reach Phobjikha valley. Check into the hotel and after lunch visit the 17th century Gangtey Gonpa, the only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan and it houses about 200 monks. If time permits walk down the alpine meadow passing by the habitat of the black necked cranes which come here in winter across the mountains from Tibet. Overnight stay at Gangtey.
Day 8 : Lhongtey Longmaya Hike.
After breakfast at 8:00am, drive to Lhongmaya village then a day hike starts from here. The trail that leads to Lhongtey is below the motor road and follow the trail through the bamboo thickets and crossing a small wooden bridge gradually upto the village of Lhongtey. This trail is being used in the olden days before the motor road came, by the natives of Gangtey and Sephu for trading and movement. Then climb up gradually and then continue towards the Gyeche la pass (3590m altitude) marked by stupa with prayer flag around it. The view from here of Phobjikha Valley and its monastery Gangtey Gompa is absolutely gorgeous and breathe taking. After a break of photo opportunity here on the pass, then continue to descend quite steeply till Gangtey Kunzangcholing Buddhist Collage. After a short and gradually hike through the pine forest, vehicle will waits above the monastery to reach the guest(s) at hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtey.
Day 9 : Phobjikha - Paro
Start early at 7:30am towards Thimphu by passing Lobesa and Dochu la Pass (3150m altitude). From the Pass, it is only another hour to Thimphu. Stop here for lunch, then continue to Paro (2 hrs drive), one of the most beautiful valleys in Bhutan with its slate-roofed farmhouses, graceful willow trees and rushing glacial river beneath snow covered peaks. En route visit Botanical garden and Tamchok lhakhang built by Drupthop Thangthong Gyelpo the Iron chain bridge builder. Still guest(s) can see the iron chain bridge which is built by him. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 10 : Hike to Tiger’s Nest (05 -06 hours)
After breakfast at 7:30am, driver will drop guest(s) at the base of Taktsang monastery. From here hike upwards to the monastery which climbs through a beautiful pine forest. The hike leads to the imposing Taktsang monastery, built in 1600s. It is believed that in the 8th century, Guru Rimpoche, the tantric mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, landed here on the back of a flying tigress to subdue a demon. Guru Rimpoche is supposed to have meditated here for three months in a cave where monastery stands at present. Upon return to the base, drive to Drugyel Dzong which is built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 to commemorate his victory over the Tibetan invaders. From here, on a clear day, get a magnificent view of the Mount Jumolhari (7,314m). Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 11 : Departure
After breakfast, drop to airport for onward destination.
