Cusco, World Cultural Heritage is one of the most visited places today, due to the amount of important archaeological remains and tourist attractions. The sacred valley of the Incas houses peoples with ancestral knowledge and wisdom who domesticated, grains and seeds, and tell stories on their looms.
Day 1 : CITY TOUR CUSCO
City Tour: Departure: 08:00 to 13:00 hrs.
We visited the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Then in the Historical Center of Cusco The Cathedral and The Temple of Koricancha.
(* Optional): Qosqo Native Art Center: Presentation Typical dances at 7:00 p.m. Until 8:30 p.m.
Sacsayhuaman.- Impressive fortress of monumental stones and excellent architecture, located 3 km from the city of Cusco.
Qenqo.- Ceremonial and ritual center, an amphitheater where sacrifices were made.
Pucapucara.- Old tambo, guard post along the Inca roads.
Tambomachay.- Ceremonial center of water worship, located 7 km from the city of Cusco, traditionally known as the place of waters.
Cathedral.- A colonial religious monument of extraordinary artistic value.
Koricancha.- Religious Center known as the Temple of the Sun – highlights the impressive engineering used in its construction.
Day 2 : FORTRESSES AND WONDERFUL CITY OF THE INCAS
Departure at 08:00 hrs. In Tourist Bus to the Sacred Valley. Approximately one hour of route we will find the archaeological site of Pisac. Guided visit of the Inca site, descends to the town of Pisac and has the opportunity to visit the Typical Market. Visit to the Inca city of Ollantaytambo. Train to Machupicchu Pueblo (Before Aguas Calientes). Transfer to the hotel.
Pisac. At the entrance of the Urubamba valley, Pisac is a magnificent mestizo city where you can distinguish the old town (archaeological site) of the modern part and colonial features. The main attraction is the typical or traditional market, where you can find a great variety of typical ceramics and textiles of the region. We will admire their typical costumes, quite colorful and carried by the local people who sometimes come from distant places, we will also observe their ancestral customs of the commercialization. We can visit the old colonial church, where the masses are still celebrated in Quechua on Sundays. – The Varayocs (local authorities of different communities) and finally the visit of Pisac will allow us to admire the interesting irrigation system of the fields and a fabulous Inca astronomical observatory.
Urubamba. To go to Urubamba we will pass through the cities of Coya, Lamay, Calca, Yucay, Urubamba, observing a beautiful flora and fauna during the route that lasts approximately 45 minutes until arriving at the city of Urubamba that is in the heart of the Sacred Valley. It is a very comfortable and fertile area that constitutes an important pre-Hispanic agricultural center. We will take advantage of this pleasant atmosphere where we will have lunch in a cozy typical restaurant.
Ollantaytambo. In the afternoon we head to the region of Ollantaytambo, also known as – Valley of Tambo – the only inhabited city of the Inca that stretches along the Vilcanota River and reaches Machupicchu. We will visit the famous fortress of Ollantaytambo, which stands out in the valley.
Macchu Picchu. Then we will go to the train station to board the train that takes us to the town of Machupicchu previously known as Aguas Calientes, for the thermal baths. At the station we are waiting for the transfer to take us to our accommodation to rest.
Day 3 : CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU
Climb in Bus Inca City of Machu Picchu Guided tour of approx. 2 hours. Return by bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo (or Aguas Calientes). Free lunch. We headed to the train station. Transfer from the Poroy or Ollantaytambo train station to the hotel in Cusco.
Day 4 : RETURN TO CUSCO
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer Hotel – Airport.
