Damodar Kunda situated in the north of Mustang is an isolated region of Nepal which is rarely visited by westerners. Domadar Kunda which is one of the of the last frontiers close to Tibetan border, the rugged landscape and unique cultural practice finely blend forming iconic exposure of lands lying behind the time. This astonishing trekking journey from Mustang we will make our way through several high passes including Saribung La(6042m) and reach the regions of Nar and Phu, where the Tibetan culture oozes out from the small villages and monasteries we pass. The main eye popping factor of this trek is the awe-inspiring landscape making it a photographer’s as well as adventure lover, nature admirer and travelers paradise.Lunch and dinner whilst in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kathmandu Arrival

  Tribhuwan
• Day 2 : Kathmandu Sightseeing

  Today we will start the day by visiting Pashupatinath temple which is situated 5km east of Kathmandu in the bank of holy Bagmati River. Pashupatinath is a pagoda shaped temple with tiered golden roofs and silver doors. Only the Hindu’s can visit the temple, but the visitors can clearly see the temple and activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of Bagmati River where the dead bodies are cremated. From here we will visit Boudhanath Stupa which is located 8km east of Kathmandu. Boudhanath stupa is dome shaped monument representing the mind of Buddha and pilgrimage destination for Tantric Buddha. . In the afternoon we will drive to Patan Durbar Square which is situated in the southern area of the city. The square is dotted with ancient palaces, temples and shrines which are known for their antique and exquisite carvings. From here we will proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is the historic seat of Nepalese royalty. Here we will visit Kastamandap Temple (a temple rumored to be constructed from the wood of single tree), Taleju temple, statue of Kal Vairab, Basantapur palace and Kumari Temple (residence of living goddess Kumari). After this we will pay our visit to Swoyambhunath temple which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple dates back to 2500years and is situated in the hilltop offering the astonishing view of Kathmandu. Return back to hotel for overnight stay
• Day 3 : Fly to Pokhara and Prepare for the Trek

  Early in the morning we will enjoy a short airstrip from Kathmandu to Pokhara through the Himalayas. As soon as we land in Pokhara we will have our lunch. In pokhara we will do some sightseeing and prepare ourselves for the trek.
• Day 4 : Fly to Jomsom(2720m) and Trek to Kagbeni(2810m); 3hours

  From Pokhara we will take a 22minutes airstrip between the Himalayas with the astonishing view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massif to Jomsom. Jomsom is the administrative hub of Mustang. After having breakfast in Jomsom we will start the trek following Kali Gandaki River to Eklebhatti and then to Kagbeni. Stay overnight in hotel in Kagbeni.
• Day 5 : Trek to Chele(3050m); 6hours

  Leaving Kagbeni behind us today we will enter the restricted area of Upper Mustang. Following Kali Gandaki river the trail goes both uphill and downhill to reach the village of Tangbe(3060m). From Tangbe the trail goes downhill through barley, wheat and buckwheat farm to Chhuksang village (2980m). We will continue the walk following Kali Gandaki River to the village of Chele.
• Day 6 : Trek to Luri Gompa
