Darjeeling is a town in India’s West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It’s famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.
Gangtok is a popular hill destination in the north eastern region of India where you can view the natural beauty dotted with lakes , mountains and specially catch a glimpse of the majestic Kanchenjunga which is the third highest peak in the world.. Gangtok is a quaint hill town steeped in Buddhist culture with colourful prayer flags waving in the cool air amidst fertile hills , silent lamas quietly mumbling sacred chants and , vividly painted pagoda roofed huts . Bhutias , Lepchas,and Nepalis influence the culture and traditions of this region . Gangtok is now emerging as a main point of Tibetology. People interested in Tibetan Buddhism culture visit this town which has a number of famous monasteries and Tibetan institutions of learning.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Mumbai - Bagdogra - Gangtok (130 Kms / 5 hrs )

  Arr. Mumbai, transfer to Airport to board flight for Bagdogara. Arrive at Bagdogra and get transfer to Gangtok - Gangtok is a perfect destination for tourist in search of enchantment, tranquility, trekking or any other adventure - Land of monastery, mystic rituals / festivals at an elevation of 1,437 meters / 4,715 Over night stay at Gangtok.

• Day 2 : Gangtok Local Sightseeing

  After breakfast Proceed to gangtok Local Sightseen includes the following with Ban Jhagri Falls - Shanti View Point - Institute of Tibetology - Cottage Industry - Flower Show - Tashi View Point/ Roapway. Overnight stay at Gangtok

• Day 3 : Gangtok - Tshangu Lake - Gangtok

  Breakfast at the hotel and full day excursion to Changu Lake which is 35 Kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the lake’s waters, also visit Baba Mandir.Later Visit to Nathu La pass ( subject to permission ) Overnight stay at Gangtok.

  After breakfast Proceed to Darjeeling - Arr. Darjeeling at an elevation of 2123 meters / 70001 feet, Check into the Hotel - Overnight stay at Darjeeling

  Early morning at around 3:45 AM drive to 8000 feet / 2440 Tiger Hill to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather) - On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace memorial & Batasia Loop - Back to hotel for breakfast - After breakfast next round of sightseeing - city tour includes Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNB Zoo & Tensing Gumpo RockTea Estate - Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
