The term Kalimantan refers to the Indonesian portion of the island of Borneo, the 3rd largest island in the world.The non-Indonesian parts of Borneo are of Brunei and East Malaysia.
More than 15 million people live in Kalimantan.
The word Kalimantan was derived from Sanskrit Kalamanthana which means ‘ burning weather island’ or island with a very hot temperature to describe its hot and humid tropical climate.
Skewered by the equator and roasting under a tropical sun the steamy forests of Kalimantan serve up endless opportunities for epic rainforest exploration.
The Borneo rainforest is 130 million years old making it one of the oldest rainforests in the world and 70 million years older than the Amazon rainforest.
The noble orangutan shares the canopy with acrobatic gibbons while prehistoric hornbills patrol air above.
The local people collectively known as Dayak, have long lived with this rich challenging landscape, they also are well-known for their hospitality.
Day 1 :
Upon arrival at Balikpapan airport, meeting service and transfer to Samarinda, for overnight at Hotel, dinner at local restaurant, evening free at own leisure.
Day 2 :
Breakfast at Hotel, drive for about five hours through villages and production forest, to Long Noran Dayak Kenyah village, with an artfull longhouse and Dayak Long ear lobs, and tattoo ‘s, continue by canoe for about one hour over the Kedang Kepala River to Long Segah, another Dayak village of migrated Kayan Dayaks, who live in harmony with the forest and planting the dry rise fields. Overnight at Local / Guesthouse, meals en-route.
Day 3 :
After Breakfast, we leave to Long Segah by canoe to the harbor of Muara Wahau, a Short sight seeing at the village, before visiting the Tropical Forest of 38.000 Hectares Wehea Tropical Virgin Rain Forest of the Dayak Wehea and Dayak Bahau tribe at Muara Wahau area, the diversity of flora and fauna with 60 kinds of tropical rain forest trees, and more then 100 wildlife species can be found here, as orangutans, deer, and many kinds of birds. Lunch en-route, overnight at Jungle Lodge.
Day 4 :
After Breakfast full day explore the dense jungle and wildlife in all the diversity of Wehea rain forest, to get a glance of Borneo’s ecologic wealth, even night jungle treks can be done. overnight at Wehea Jungle Lodge.
Day 5 :
Breakfast early morning, before we depart for our seven hours drive to Berau, the first part we will need a 4 Wheel Drive to the main road, which will connect us to Berau airport, hotel or harbor from where you can find your connection to the next destination.

* Upon cancellation, refund will be made after deducting the Retention Amount.
