Bugyal in the local language means “High Altitude Meadow”. Dayara Bugyal trek is one of the most beautiful trek in Uttarakhand. Dayara bugyal is situated at an elevation from 3000m-4000m. This vast meadow is second to none in natural beauty in Uttrakhand. During winter it provides excellent & one of the best ski slopes in India spread over an area of 28 sq kms. During the monsoon season these bugyals sprinkled with hundreds of Himalayan flowers.
The road to Dayara Bugyal branches off near Bhatwari a place on Uttarkashi Gangotri road about 35 kms. From Uttarkashi. Vehicles can go up to the village of Barsu or Raithal from where one has to trek a distance of about 8 kms to reach Dayara bugyal. In this trek we also visit Surya top, which is another 12km from Dayara and offer fabulous views of Himalayas.
This trek is suitable for beginners as-well experienced trekkers; this is ideal trek for family holidays. We welcome all to explore and enjoy this magnificent gift of nature!

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Rishikesh

  We will start our Himalayan journey from Rishikesh, drive to Barsu via Uttarkahi. Uttarkashi is known for Vishwanath temple and Indian pioneer Mountaineering institute called “Nehru institute of Mountaineering. Stopover for lunch break, followed by a short drive to Barsu. Overnight stay at the Guest house.

• Day 2 : Barnala

  Morning we do enjoy the lovely sunrise with glittering mountains. After breakfast we start our trek to Barnala tal, 05 kms; 3-4hrs. This is short but steep climb with great views of Himalaya. We keep this day shorter to help acclimatize trekkers to prevent high altitude sickness. Explore the surrounding of Barnala tal in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Camp.
• Day 3 : Dayara

  After breakfast, we pack our tents and start our trek to Dayara bugyal. This trek passes through dense forest of Oak and Rhododendrons, March-April is flowering time for Rhododendron and these forest looks amazing. It’s a short day till Dayara so we will make excursion to Barkria top (Its 8km return trek) and back to Dayara. Beyond Dayara there are only few trees of Birch and Rhododendron bushes. From Bakria top we can see 360 views of Himalayan peaks and Dodital and Asi Ganga valley towards north-west. Return to Dayara for camping.

• Day 4 : Syanri Bugyal

  After breakfast, we start trek to Syanri Bugyal. This walk is mostly gradual and we walk mostly on ridge. Enjoy the great view of Himalaya including Bandarpunch (6350 mtrs), Dropdikadanda, Jaonli, Srikanth, Gangotri I, II, III and many other peaks. It is one of best day of our walk on entire trek. Camping.

• Day 5 : Surya Top (4100m).

  After early breakfast we will set off for Surya Top (4100m). Surya top is known for its grand views of Banderpunch massif and more peaks towards Himachal. We can also see Gangotri range to its best on east side. Monsoon and pre-monsoon season is full of Himalayan flowers. After admiring the beauty of Himalayan peaks, we will our return journey to Jungle camp, which further down in the forest for night stay. Camping.

• Day 6 : Rishikesh

  Morning after breakfast downhill trek to Barsu (06km; 2hrs). On arrival board our waiting vehicles and drive to Rishikesh
