Delhi - Bharatpur - Corbett Birding Tour

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi

  Arrive Delhi. Assistance upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Day free.

• Day 2 : Bharatpur

  Drive to Bharatpur. Bird watching at Keoladeo National Park by foot and on cycle rickshaws. Then take a boat ride and get very close to the birds - waterfowl and heronries. Each birder will have a peddle rickshaw for birding and has the option to return back to the hotel anytime. The 3 day birding at Bharatpur can result in check listing 150 species. You have a great chance to sight - Pheasant-tailed Jacana and Bronzed-winged Jacana, Brown Crake and Baillon's, Ruddy-breasted Crake, Siberian Rubythroat and Blue Throat, Long-tailed and Bay- backed Shrikes, Common grey Hornbill, Black Bittern, Orange-headed Thrush, Syke's, Yellow-browed Warbler, Red Avadavat, Silverbill, Rufous-tailed Lark and Comb Duck. The park has the finest wetlands and scub that constitutes excellent feeing grounds and habitat for birds in India. It has been declared a World Heritage Site.

• Day 3 : Bharatpur

  Visit Bharatpur.

• Day 4 : Bharatpur

  Visit Bharatpur.

• Day 5 : Chambal Sanctuary

  Transfer to National Chambal Sanctuary 1 1/2 hour drive. Chambal is a riverine eco-system. Enjoy a river cruise for four hours see Indian Skimmer, Black-bellied Tern, Common Sarus and Demoiselle Crane, Pratincole, Great Thick-Knee, Black-winged Stilt and migratory waterfowl. There 8 species of Turtle and Gharial and Marsh Crocodile at Chambl. Gangetic Dolphin can be seen on the river surface.

• Day 6 : Agra

  After breakfast, visit to the Taj Mahal, later drive to delhi overnight Hotel.

• Day 7 : Sattal

  Drive to Sattal overnight Birding lodge. Two Days Birding at Sattal.

• Day 8 : Sattal

  Drive to Sattal overnight Birding lodge. Two Days Birding at Sattal.

• Day 9 : Pangot

  Morning drive further up hill to Pangot. Pangot is mostly Oak Forest and mix of pine, cedar and rhododendron. Reach Pangot at lunch followed by birding in lodge confines. Check list White-tailed Nuthatch, Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch and Tree creepers. Go birding in the terraced fields, Dark-throated Thrush and Striated Prinia can be seen there. Rusty-tailed shrike, Verditer flycatcher, Tickell's flycatcher and Rufous-bellied Flycatcher can be seen I and around the tree canopy.

• Day 10 : Pangot

  Morning drive further up hill to Pangot. Pangot is mostly Oak Forest and mix of pine, cedar and rhododendron. Reach Pangot at lunch followed by birding in lodge confines. • Day 14 : Delhi

  Transfer to Airport.
