Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Bangkok - Delhi ( L, D )

    Depart Bangkok. Arrive Delhi. Assistance upon arrival and transfer to your hotel for check in. Later proceed for lunch at local restaurant then proceed for city tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi : An ancient walled city. Here you will drive past Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire: drive pass Jama Masjid ( Friday closed ). It is the largest mosque in India. It was begun in 1644 and completed only in 1658. There are two minarets ( 40m in height) four angle towers and three gateways. Built during the rule of Emperor Shah Jahan, the mosque is made of white marble and red stone. Raighat: On the banks of the Yamuna, is the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948. Chandni Chowk: This shopping bazaar is the main street od Old Delhi, in spite of it being terribly crowded, irrespective of the time of the day or night, it is frequented by Indian and foreign tourists alike. ( Chandni Chowk Market closed on Sunday )New Delhi: (Drive past with photo stop only) This city designed and built by the British in the 1920's - a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, and official building in Connaught Place area. India Gate : This arch of triumph bears the names of several thousands of Indians who lost their lives during first world war, drive past Rashtrapati Bhavan: Opposite India Gate is the official residence of the President of India. The building exhibits Mughal as well as Western architectural style. Surrounded by huge gardens, this was completed in 1929.After sightseeing, proceed for dinner at local restaurant. Then return to your hotel for overnight stay.

  • Day 2 : Delhi - Srinagar By Flight ( B, L, D )

    After breakfast at the hotel assistance and transfer to airport for flight to Srinagar. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to your houseboat. Lunch at houseboat, after visit to Mughal Gardens.Shalimar Bagh is one of the beautiful gardens in Srinagar, which is regarded as the monument of love. It was built in 1616 by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife, Nur Jahan. This garden houses four terraces, fountains and a canal. The highest terrace at this site is known as ' Abode of Love ', which was used by the emperor and royal ladies. This bagh is also called as Garden of Char Minar, Faiz Baksh and Farah Baksh. It has been constructed as per the layout of the famous Chahar Bagh in Persia. This bagh covers an area of approximately 31 acres and is surrounded by chinar trees. It is also linked with the water of Dal Lake through a canal, measuring 1.6 km in length. Shalimar Bagh is situated at a distance of 15 km from Srinagar and around 25 km from the nearest airport in Badgam District. It is further 300 km from the closest railhead in Jammu and is connected by road with both Jammu and Srinagar. Nishat Bagh was constructed in 1633 by Abdul Hasan Asaf Khan, brother of Nur Jahan and father of Mumtaz Mahal. It is among the largest Mughal Gardens built in the region, which has some of the rare species of flowers and artefact. The bagh is located on the banks of Dal Lake with Zabarwan Hills on the backdrop. It is also known for around 12 terraces, fountains, flowerbeds and huge lawns that attract travelers. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan was impressed with the beauty of this garden and hoped that his father-in-law would gift this place to him. When he did not receive this place in gift, he ordered for the closure of the water supply to this garden.In evening enjoy the Shikara ride of Dal Lake: Dal Lake remains crowded throughout the year and is popularly known for its houseboats and Shikatas. This lake covers an area of about 26 sq. km. and has a long shore line of approximately 15.5 km. It is divided into four different sections that are connected through four causeways and can be reached easily from the city of Srinagar. It is an ideal site in the region for enjoying swimming, kayaking, houseboats, canoeing, angling, Shikara riding and water surfing. This place is regarded as the summer capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and is the second largest lake in the state. It is popularly called as " Srinagar's Jewel " or "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir". This place also ideal for fishing along with water plant harvesting. During the winter season, the temperature at the destination reaches about -110 Celsius, which freezes the Dal Lake.After sightseeing return to Srinagar. Dinner at your houseboat and overnight stay.

  • Day 3 : Srinagar - Gulmarg / Srinagar Approx 53 Kms / 1.5 Hrs Drive One Way ( B, L, D )

    After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Gulmarg. Gulmarg is situated at a distance of 45 km from Srinagar and is visited during the peak season from December to April. This is the best season to witness snowfall and is popular for adventure activities such as hiking, horse riding, golf playing, skiing and cable car riding. Gulmarg was originally called as Gulmarg and it got its present name by Sultan Yusuf Shah in 16th century. It was also a favorite place of Emperor Jahangir, who once collected around 21 varieties of flowers from Gulmarg. This place also has the highest green golf course in the world, which is situated around 2,650 m above sea level.
    Notes:
    Gondola ride will be provided at till 1st phase.
    Hot lunch will be provided at a city restaurant in Gulmarg.
    After sightseeing return to Srinagar.
    Dinner at your houseboat and overnight stay.

  • Day 4 : Srinagar - Sonmarg - Srinagar Approx 95 Kms / 2.5 Hrs Drive One Way ( B, L, D )

    After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Sonamarg. Sonamarg: The drive to Sonamarg is through the Sindh Valley which presents yet another spectacular facet of countryside in Kashmir. Situated at an altitude of 2,730 m, Sonamarg ("The meadow of gold") has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against cerulean sky. The Sindh River that meanders through the valley abounds with trout and mahaseer. Ponies can be hired for the trip up to Thajiwas glacier, which is a major local attraction during the summer months. Sonamarg is the base of a major trek that passes along several mountain lakes - Vishansar, Kishansar, Gadsar, Satsar and Gangabal. Sonamarg is also the take off station for the drive to Ladakh across the Zojila, a major pass in the Great Himalayan Range, through which the Srinagar-Leh Road passes.Hot lunch in Sonamarg. After sightseeing drive back to Srinagar. Dinner at your houseboat and overnight stay.

  • Day 5 : Srinagar - Delhi By Flight ( B, L, D )

    Early morning visit vegetable market / floating market. Return to your hotel for breakfast. free for leisure. Early lunch at houseboat, after transfer to airport flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi proceed for visit of Qutab Minar : 73m in height, this tower in Delhi tapers from a diameter of 15m to 2.5m. There are five distinct storeys, each of which has a protruding balcony. Later shopping at Janpath Market. Dinner at local restaurant, after go to check in at your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 6 : Delhi - Bangkok ( B )

    Breakfast at hotel. After which assistance and transfer to International Airport for departure for your onward destination.
