Delhi to Spiti Motorbike Expedition via Manali Package

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi - Manali (560 kms/ 12hours)

  Today, you will set out on your expedition to Spiti valley. The destination for today is Manali. Our team will meet with you at the pickup point and will move with you from here on. The journey will take 11-12 hours in total and it will be a fun bus ride.

• Day 2 : Manali (Local City Tour)

  Reach Manali in the morning and immediately check in to your pre-booked hotels to get some rest. Later, your bikes will be provided to you along with detailed maps, routes, destinations, rules and regulations.
  Spend the day touring the locals attractions in Manali. The tourist spots in Manali as well as Old Manali include Hadimba Temple, Mall Road, Tibetan monasteries, Natural Reserve and Manu Maharishi temple. You can explore the local cafes for delicious continental food, brimming marketplaces and niche temples for cultural expeditions.

• Day 3 : Manali – Jibhi - Tirthan Valley – Jalori Pass- Rampur - Sarahan(233 km)

  Rise up in the morning for a delicious breakfast. Today you will be riding for approx 233 kilometers towards Sarahan. On your way, visit Rampur which is a small commercial hub. Here, Satluj river is at a lower height than the areas nearby.
  Reach Sarahan in the evening to enjoy the exhilarating views of this small settlement in Himachal Pradesh. This village has considerable modern technologies and is known for a number of famous sites including Bhimadevi temple dedicated to the Bhimakali, deity of the rulers of the former Bushahr state. Spend overnight in camps and enjoy camping under the starlit skies.

• Day 4 : Sarahan – Sangla(85 km)

  Today’s destination is Sangla valley, a scenic station also known as Baspa valley as the river Baspa is nearby. You will be entering the border of Kinnaur district today and that will take you from beautifully made roads to picturesque villages of the district. Overnight stay in a camp/hotel.

• Day 5 : Sangla to Chitkul – The Last Village (60 km)

  Post breakfast, head towards Chitkul also known as the Crown of Kinnaur. As you travel alongside river Baspa toward Chitkul valley, you will likely pass through Rakcham village (3,450 m). This is the highest altitude village of Baspa valley in Himachal Pradesh and is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. The Indian road ends here.

• Day 6 : Sangla – Kalpa – Nako - Tabo(178 km)

  After breakfast in the morning, head out towards Sangla valley. Start out by riding towards Reckong Peo, the headquarter of Kinnaur. A few minutes from here, you will reach Kalpa, a beautiful place overlooking the Kinner Kailash. You will find the famous apple orchards here in Kinnaur.
  From Kalpa, you will move towards Nako, at an altitude of about 12,014 ft. In the backdrop, enjoy the wonderful views of Reo Purgyal, the highest mountain in Himachal Pradesh. Nako, famous for its lake and the footprints of Guru Padmasambhava on a rock nearby, is a holy Buddhist site.
  You will touch Spiti valley at Sumdo and further ahead this link road is Gyu where you can visit the famous mummy of the old monk. Later, you drive towards Tabo, the Ajanta of the Himalayas. Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo, the well renowned translator is said to have built this famous monastery. Surprisingly, the statues here are similar to the ones at Alchi monastery in Ladakh.
  Stay overnight at camps/hotel in Tabo.

• Day 7 : Tabo - Kaza(50 km)

  In the morning, start heading to Kaza, Spiti valley of Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It is located on a ridge at a height of about 11,980 ft above the sea level. A scenic treat, Kaza is overlooked by high mountain ridges on all fronts. In the splendid greens, the town is incredibly rich in high-altitude flora and fauna.
  Enjoy the serenity of this town; the town is segregated into two parts: the old and the new. The old town is located on the outer edge of the city and you can visit an ancient monastery here.
  Spend the day exploring the surroundings.

• Day 8 : Kaza Excursion Day to Key monastery, Langza, Komic, Hikkim villages

  Post early morning breakfast, take your bike out today to explore the spectacular beauty of Kaza. Visit the tourist spots including Key Gompa monastery that is nestled between the mountains in a bowl shape, in the small village Langza of Spiti valley. This village is at a whopping height of about 14,500 ft above sea level. It is also considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road and Komic is the highest village with a road.
  Another location, Hikkim is a village in the Spiti district, close to Kaza. This is one of the highest year-round inhabited locations in India.

• Day 9 : Kaza to Chandratal (100km)

  As we ride our motorbikes out of Kaza, the next location on our maps is the beautiful crescent shaped Chandratal Lake. Parking here is available two kilometers away from the lake. The lake is situated in the Spiti part of the Lahaul and Spiti district and is also called “Moon Lake” (courtesy its shape). It is overlooked by the mountains on one side and a cirque on the other. After sunset, it is a beauty to behold. Enjoy the night in camps under a starry sky.

• Day 10 : Chandratal to Kullu Manali (160km)

  Today you will start riding back to Manali. Once you check into the hotel, your bikes will be collected back and this is the end of your motorbiking expedition.

• Day 11 : Manali to Delhi

  Today is a day kept free for you to relax and explore the natural beauty of Manali just one more time. Later in the evening, you will be leaving for Delhi in the volvo. Reach Delhi in the morning.
