Day 1 : Dhaka
We start this tour at 9 a.m. in the morning. Guide will pick you up from your nominated place.
In the first half we will visit the popular Monuments and Establishment of Dhaka city and in the second half we will visit Sonargaon, 29 km from Dhaka.
In the first half we will visit the places mentioned below:
Sadarghat – The crowded riverfront in the south most of the city. This is the gateway to enter the city from the Riverine southern districts of Bangladesh.
Ahsan Monzil – Popularly known as pink palace, the residence of the then local Elite - khwaja family. Now it’s a museum hosting huge family things of the land lord family.
Lalbagh fort – This is the place actually Dhaka city started from. This was built by the Mughal prince Azam as the official residence of Mughal representative in Bengal.
Star Mosque – A beautifully decorated 100 years old mosque in the old part of the city.
Dhakeswari Temple – The oldest temple of the city though it has been rebuilt recently is one of the interesting places where you can have a smell of Hinduism.
National Parliament Building - This is a unique structure of the Country, designed by world famous American architect Luis I Kahn. This place with its adjacent area is quite peaceful to move around.
On the way, we will pass by the New Market, Carzon hall, the language monument, Dhaka university campus, Supreme Court building, National mosque and the National stadium.
In the second half, accompanied guide will take you to – Sonargaon 29 km to the East from Dhaka.
During 16th and 17th century this was the capital of Bengal. Here you will visit the king’s palace, now converted to the folklore museum (The Folk Art Museum [established in 1975] have a very rich collection of folk objects of different materials and forms of aesthetic values. This museum represents traditional art and heritage of Bangladesh) and Century old panam city or panam nagar (said to have been the site of Hindu capital city of Sonargaon.)
Besides, to go to Sonargaon, you will see a bit of rural Bangladesh and its livelihood.
