Day 1 : Arrival in Tirana
An Albania Travelnet Agency representative will meet you at the Tirana International Airport and escort you to your hotel near the center of Tirana.
Overnight in Tirana
Day 2 : Tirana - Kruja - Shkoder
Our day will start in Tirana main square discovering the history and beauties of this town which was transformed from a big village into a modern capital in the first half of the XX century. (check detailed program)
In the second half of the day we will visit Kruja where we will have an introduction to the traditional Albanian culinary while having lunch in a traditional restaurant.
After the visit in the old part of the town of Kruja (check detailed program) we will drive north towards the town of Shkodra, where we will check in our accommodation in late afternoon.

Day 3 : Shkodra - Durres
Our visit in the town of Shkodra, which was know with the name Skutari in ancient times, we will start form the old part of the town and will continue with a visit at the IV century BC castle of Rozafa (name given by the legend of Rozafa) located on a hill overlooking the lake of Shkodra and the Albanian Alps.
In the second part of the day, we drive to Durres, (the capital of Albania 1272 - 1920,) where we’ll visit the Archaeological museum and the 2nd century AD Roman amphitheater located within the walls of the city’s fortress. We will have the chance to walk within the galleries of the amphitheater into the arena. A little gem is hidden inside the galleries of the amphitheater.
In the afternoon we will check in our accommodation near the sea.
Overnight in Durres
Day 4 : Durres - Ardenica - Apolonia - Vlore
After breakfast we will drive towards Ardenica Orthodox monastery (XII century) located on a hill overlooking the valley, which has one of the best preserved Byzantine churches in Albania, famous for its wooden carved altar and it’s frescoes covered walls.
Next visit will be at Apollonia Archaeological park which started in the 7th century BC as the ancient town of Apollonia, the second largest Greek colony in Albania. Founded in the VII century BC, Apollonia became one of the most important towns in the region in the IV century bc. Now days it is one of the biggest archaeological parks in Albania. In the afternoon we will check in our hotel in Vlora.
Overnight in Vlora
Day 5 : Vlore - Llogara, Dhermi - Himare - Sarand
Today we will drive along the Albanian Riviera on the Ionian seaside. On the way, will drive through the forest of Llogara National Park where we will make a stop at 1100 meters above sea level from where we can admire the whole coast line and the Greek islands in the Ionian sea.
After a visit in a hidden gem in the village of Dhermi, we will continue towards Himare where we will have a break by the sea.
We will stop at the little town of Himara by the sea, before visiting the Ali Pasha castle located in the middle of Panormi bay (Porto Palermo).
In the afternoon we will check in our hotel near the sea in Saranda.
Overnight in Saranda
Day 6 : Saranda - Butrint - Blue Eye - Gjirokastra
During the first part of the day we will visit the Archaeological park of Butrinti, UNESCO World Heritage site since 1995. Founded in the VII century bc by the Corcyrians, it became one of the most important Greek colonies in the Ionian sea. Now days it is best preserved archaeological site in Albania. (Check detailed program).
After a short break by the sea in the white beach of Ksamil we will continue east towards Gjirokastra UNESCO World heritage town.
On the way, we will visit the Blue Eye water springs natural park. In the afternoon we will will continue towards Gjirokastra where we will check in our traditional accommodation located in the historical part of the town.
Overnight in Gjirokastra
Day 7 : Gjirokastra - Tepelena - Berat
After breakfast we will explore the old town of Gjirokastra, UNESCO World Heritage town since 2004.
We will start our visit from the Ottoman fortress (XIV century) and conitue with a visit at the old bazaar, but the town is better known as the birth place of the communist dictator and his house which is now days the Ethnographic museum is open to visitors.
In the second part of the day we will drive towards Berat UNESCO World heritage town. On the way we will visit a local winery, one of the best in the country, where we will taste some good Albanian wine.
In the afternoon we will check in our traditional accommodation located in the historical part of the town.
Overnight in Berat
Day 8 : Berat - Elbasan - Tirana
Our visit in Berat UNESCO World Heritage town will start from the old Mangalemi neighborhood to continue with a visit in the IV century bc fortress located on the hill overlooking the Osumi valley. The fortress is better known for the old Orthodox cathedral where the Onufri Icon Gallery is located. Here we will admire some of the most beautiful and oldest icons in Albania, dating from the XIV century.
In the second part of the day we will drive to Elbasan where we will visit the old fortress before continuing towards Tirana through a recently opened tunnel.
In the afternoon we will check in Tirana.
Overnight in Tirana
Day 9 : Departure
After breakfast we drive you to the airport wishing you a nice flight back home.
