Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : ARRIVAL MUSCAT

  You will arrive at the Muscat International Airport. Upon your arrival you proceed straight to the Immigration. Immigration & customs are quick & simple. Upon arrival at the General arrival lounge you will be met by our friendly & efficient AFAQ Travel & Tourism chauffer who will assist you to the comforts of our vehicle to drive you the hotel.

• Day 2 : MUS CAT CITY TOUR

  The tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque one of the largest mosques in the Middle East. Visit the Natural History Museum, exhibiting the wealth of Oman’s history and thus imparting knowledge about the country’s rich culture and traditions to the visitor. Later you drive along the picturesque Corniche to the once walled district Muscat. You will have photo stops at the residence of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. You will be strolling through Muttrah Souq, where you will be bargaining for handicrafts and silver items.Overnight at Muscat Hotel. .

• Day 3 : MUSCAT - WADI BANI KHALID - WAHIBA SANDS

  Around 0800 hrs you will be met by your tour guide and driver who will escort you a soft adventurous trip to the great desert of Oman. You will drive through small villages and towns before arriving at Wadi Bani Khalid driving through the mountain offering a panoramic view of the beautiful landscape below. You will pass many pretty villages embedded in the mountains. Here the road winds down to the wadi alongside a large, shallow pool fringed with vegetation & ends at a village. We park our vehicles at this point & continue on a short trek to the deep blue pools of the wadi. If you wish you may enjoy a swim in this glorious grace of nature. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes & walking shoes for this trip.
  Continue drive to the great desert of Oman Known as the “Wahiba Sands”. Soon you will come face to face with the enormous desert and our experienced drivers drive you through the sand dunes to give you a thrill of dune driving.
  After having enjoyed the drives over the lovely dunes you could perhaps meet the Bedouin family to know more about their life style in the desert. Thereafter you will bid goodbye to the inhabitants of the desert to drive to reach the campsite
  Buffet Dinner and Overnight stay at Wahiba Sands.

• Day 4 : WAIBAH SAND - JABREEN - BAHLA - AL HAMRA - BAIT AL SAFA - MISFAT - NIZWA

  Leave the golden sand dunes behind you and after a stop in Jabrin Castal. You proceed to Jabrin castle built in 17th century is one of the finest of its kind. Its magnificent plasterwork, the carved doors and the painted wooden beams of the ceilings makes this castle amazingly different. Thereafter continue to Bahla, one of the oldest small towns of Oman and in the 12th century the capital of the tribe living in the region. As the monumental fort is closed for renovation only a photo stop is planned. Al Hamra visit Bait al Safa traditional home converted in Museumand Misfah to see one of the oldest villages of this region. The traditional mud houses dated back from 400 years are still occupied. The falaj system used in this village one of the oldest of this kind (UNESCO site).

• Day 5 : NIZWA - BIRKAT AL MAWZ - MUSSANAH

  Morning after breakfast visit the powerful Fort of Nizwa with its massive Circular Cannon Tower, one of the most impressive forts in Oman and the traditional Souq. On the way you stop a pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz, located at the foot of Jabel Akhdar. Wonder in the old streets of abandoned houses made of mud and straw.

• Day 6 : FULL DAY EXCURSION TO BATINAH REGION

  Morning we will drive to Nakhal, en route visit Seeb fish market and Fanja farms. You reach Nakhal which has a 350 years old magnificent fort and is dramatically located at the top of rock mountain cliff. The area is surrounded with dates plantations. The narrow road through the town winds up to the Hot Springs, which is a popular picnic, spot. After spending some time at Nakhal we will continue for Rustaq (about 55 kms Southwest of Nakhal), once the capital of this area and always a major trading center of Oman, Later we will drive back to Muscat via Al Hazam (Only Photo stop, Closed for renovations).Overnight at Muscat Hotel.

• Day 7 : COST AND WADI WALK

  Start the tour by going straight to Wadi Shab which means a “wadi between the cliffs” and enjoy a walk through the wadi, as well as a refreshing swim in those pools.
  
  If you feel brave enough, go inside the cave accessible only by swimming. For those inclined, it is possible to walk right up to the source of the wadi through lush green plantations of lemon, banana and dates.The fairly easy walk on rocky path is dotted with pools and waterfalls.Comfortable
  Walking shoes are recommended.
  
  Once you come back to the car, you will head to Qalhat for a stop at Bibi Mariam Tomb (at present, closed for archeological searches).
  
  Along the coast line, your last stop will be at Bimah Sinkhole, a huge hole formed by erosion. Overnight at Muscat Hotel.

• Day 8 : DOLPHIN WATCHING AND SNORKELING

  Morning after breakfast your tour guide will wait for you to drive Marina Bander Rowdha
  
  Dolphin Watching and Snorkeling trip: Meet at Marina BanderRowdha at 15 minutes before agreed time before setting out to sea for a 2 hour dolphin watching and snorkeling trip while taking in the scenic mountainous Muscat coat. After dolphin watching will go for snorkeling to the beautiful Bander Kahyran. Light refreshments provided on boat.

• Day 9 : DEPARTURE

  Departure transfers to Airport to connect the flight back home.
