Day 1 : Swiss Border / Airport - Luzern
Arrive at Lucerne by train (IInd Class travel) from the Swiss Border or any Swiss Airport. Overnight in Lucerne
Day 2 : Luzern
There are no activities planned for today. You can rest at the hotel or explore the city of Lucerne on your own. Alternatively, you can enjoy an excursion to any of the following mountain tops (highly recommended): a Golden Round Trip to Mount Pilatus - the site of the world's steepest cogwheel railway, Mount Rigi - Queen of the mountains or Mount Titlis - the highest peak in Central Switzerland. Explore Mount Pilatus, acclaimed across the world for being home to the world's steepest cog railway that chugs its way to the top transporting locals and visitors alike to the magnificent peak; for an amazing experience, take the Golden Round Trip, which rewards you with an exquisite experience as you journey to the peak and back on the cog wheel, panorama gondolas and aerial cableway with a scenic boat ride down the Lake Lucerne being the icing on the cake. Or, rise early and head to Mount Rigi and be awarded with the golden beauty of the world's most famous sunrise views - later in the day, you can enjoy panoramic views of as many as 13 lakes shimmering across the Alps; the entire Swiss Mitteland and even Germany can be viewed from the summit of Mt. Rigi. Another option is the excursion to Mount Titlis, the highest vantage point of the Swiss Alps in Central Switzerland. Make this excursion even more magical with a trip to the summit aboard the world's first revolving car - Titlis Rotair. At the top, a spectacular glacier, an icy glacier cave, a crazy glacier park and several theme walks await. Overnight in Lucerne.
Day 3 : Luzern - Interlaken
Today, after breakfast, we will depart from Luzern and make our way to the next stop of our tour - Interlaken. Board the train from the Luzern railway station to Interlaken passing over the Brünig Pass. Interlaken is a city nestled between the Lakes of Thun and Brienz and at the foot of the famous trio of peaks, the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau. Check-in at the hotel and explore the city on your own. Overnight in Interlaken.
Day 4 : Interlaken - Montreux
Today morning, we will check-out from the Interlaken hotel after breakfast and proceed to board the Golden Pass Panoramic BLS train from Interlaken Ost to Zweisimmen and then take the Golden Pass Panoramic MOB train to Montreux on the Riviera of Lake Geneva. It is a scenic rail journey past alpine forests, crystal clear mountain streams and picturesque mountain villages. On arrival at Montreux, proceed to hotel for check-in. Overnight in Montreux.
Day 5 : Montreux - Zermatt
Today, we will check-out from the hotel after breakfast and proceed to the railway station to board the train to Zermatt, the famous Alpine resort at the foot of the Matterhorn Mountain - the world's most photographed mountain. Zermatt is not just a world-famous health resort; it also boasts the Alp's highest and most well-developed ski areas. It is also famous for its clean air, since only electric cars without combustion engines are allowed to operate there. On arrival at Zermatt, proceed to check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 6 : Zermatt - Gornergrat
Today morning, we will enjoy an excursion to Gornergrat. After breakfast, proceed to the railway station in Zermatt to board the popular Gornergrat Bahn, Europe's highest open-air cogwheel railway, that will takes us up to the Gornergrat 9.3 km away. The train crosses impressive bridges, galleries and tunnels. On the Gornergrat viewing platform, you are surrounded by 29 peaks rising to above 4000 m. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 7 : Zermatt - Glacier Express - St. Moritz
Today, we will depart from Zermatt and board the Glacier Express and enjoy one of the greatest rail journeys in the world. A 7½ hour rail journey takes you across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2033 m to St. Moritz. Overnight in St. Moritz.
Day 8 : St. Moritz - Depart for onward journey connection
Today is the last day of the tour. After breakfast, proceed to the Swiss Border or Airport or continue your stay in Switzerland at your own request.
