The six day trek is the most popular trek in the country as it passes through a gorgeous natural landscape of blue pine forests, high ridges and pristine lakes while at the same time offering the opportunity to visit some ancient lhakhangs, dzongs and villages.
The Druk Path Trek is also a fairly easy hike to undertake as the distances between rest camps is fairly short. The trail takes you through forests of fir, blue pine and dwarf rhododendrons at altitudes ranging between 2400-4200m.On the third day hikers will arrive at Jimiling Lake, whose crystal clear waters are home to gigantic trout.This trek also offers hikers stunning views of Mt. Gangkar Puensum, the highest unscaled peak in the world.Both International & domestic Flight fares.

Day 1 : Arrive in Paro international airport
You will be welcome by our representatives at International airport. After completing customs & Immigration formalities. Check in hotel-Paro.
Afternoon visit, Drukyel Dzong, built in 1647 by Zhabdung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate his victory over the Tibetan invaders. The glory of Drukgyel Dzong remained even when its was destroyed by fire in 1951. On a clear day, one can see the commanding view of Mount. Chomolhari from the village, below the Dzong. Kyichu Lhakhang: One of the oldest Temple in Bhutan built in 7th Century by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo and the second temple built in 1968, by H.M. Ashi Kesang, the Queen Mother of Bhutan. Day 2 : Paro - Jili Dzong
Campsite:Altitude 3,480m.
Distance: 7 km.
Estimated time: 4-5 hours.
Trek road type: 1,090m ascent.
The first day can be quite arduous as you have to climb more than 1,000m elevation. You start from the Ta Dzong (National Museum) in Paro. The trek follows a gravel road past a few farms for about 30 minutes and then climbs up a steep ridge before leading through blue pine fir forest to Damche Gom. Once you reach the ridge below Jili dzong you descend about 100m to the campsite below the Dzong.
Day 3 : Jili Dzong - Jangchulakha
Campsite: Altitude 3,770m.
Distance: 10 km.
Estimated time: 4-5 hours.
Trek road type: 310m ascent & 50m descent.
You begin with a steep climb for about an hour and a half, then the slope evens a bit and the ascent is more gradual. The trail takes you through thick alpine forests and dwarf rhododendron tress. You may see herder and their yak s around your campsite.
Day 4 : Jangchulakha - Jimgelang Tsho
Campsite: Altitude 3,870m.
Distance: 11 km.
Estimated time: 4 hours.
Trek road type: 230m descent & 330m ascent.
The trail follows a ridge and on a clear day the view of the mountains and valley are simply stunning. The campsite is close to the Jimgelang Tsho Lake. This lake is known for its giant sized trout.
Day 5 : Jimgelang Tsho - Simkotra Tsho
Campsite: Altitude 4,110m.
Distance: 11 km.
Estimated time: 4 hours.
Trek road type: 820m ascent & 400m descent.
The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees and past Janetso Lake. You may come across some yak herder camps where you will have the opportunity to get a glimpse of a nomad’s life. The campsite is close to Simkota Tsho lake.
Day 6 : Simkotra Tsho - Phajoding
Campsite: Altitude 3,750m.
Distance: 10 km.
Estimated time: 3-4 hours.
Trek road type: 130m ascent & 680m descent.
The day begins with a gradual climb. If the weather permits, you will have a spectacular view of Mount Gangkar Puensum, the highest mountain in Bhutan and several other Himalayan peaks. From this pass, the trek takes you downhill towards Phojodhing where you will halt for night. The camp is just located above the Phojodhing Monastery.
Day 7 : Phajodhing - Mothitang
Day 7: Phajodhing – Mothitang.
Distance: 4-5 km.
Estimated time: 3 hours.
Trek road type:1,130m descent.
After passing Phadjoding monastery, the trek to Thimphu (Mothitang) is downhill through a forested area of mostly blue pine. The walk, at a leisurely pace. Druk Path – END. The Druk Path finishes at the Bhutan Broadcast Service (BBS) Telecommunication Tower, offering great view of the city of Thimphu. Overnight hotel in Thimphu.
Day 8 : Thimphu Tour
Your visit will start from National Library, established in 1960 where an ancient texts and manuscripts are preserved.National Institute of Zorig Chusum, (commonly known as the Painting School), where a six-year training course is given in the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. Institute of Traditional Medicines Services, where the medicinal herbs abundant in the kingdom are compounded and dispensed.Textile Museum, which provides an excellent introduction about the techniques, style of various textiles woven in the country along with exhibition of the national dress ‘gho’ for men and ‘kira’ for women.Handicraft Emporium, which offers a wide range of colourful, hand woven textiles and other products.Centenary Farmer Vegetable Market, colorful market full of local produce and handicrafts, if your visit falls Friday to Sunday.National Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 in the memory of Third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Tashichhodzong, the “fortress of the glorious religion", built in 1641. It houses His Majesty’s Secretariat and the Central Monk Body. Across the river you can see the National Assembly building. Day 9 : Thimphu - Punakha
Altitude:1280m.
Distance: 71 km.
Estimated time: 2 hours.
Morning visit Semtokha Dzong,built in 1627 and it is the oldest Dzong in the country and now houses the School for Buddhist Studies. Stop at Dochula ( altitude 3088m) , drive 23km from Thimphu which will take about 45 minutes where you can enjoy the viewpoint of Eastern Himalayas. The 108 chortens was built by the present Queen Mother of Bhutan Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over Indian militants and to liberate the souls of the soldiers lost. Afternoon visit Chhimi Lhakhang, Built in 1499 by the 14th Drukpa, Ngawang Choegyel. Temple renowned for its fertility blessings.
Day 10 : Punakha tour
Morning short expedition Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten (stupa), 3 hours round trip: One of the such chorten in the world, constructed in 1992. Afternoon Visit Punakha Dzong,The ancient capital of Bhutan and now winter residence of Chief Abbot (Je Khempa), built in the year 1637 and Visit majestic Wangdue Dzong and interesting local market. Day 11 : Punakha - Paro
Distance: 121 km
Estimated time: 5 hours.
Evening short trek to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger Nest).To get starting point, you will have to drive 11km to reach the parking lot and for the trip may take 5 hours. Somewhat arduous adventure for the day, ascending the 915m cliff to reached the most spectacularly located temple in all Bhutan. It perched atop on a cliff at 2950m, built in 1692 by Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye. Though the climb up through the pine forest is steep, the journey is most worthwhile on account of the super views. Day 12 : International departure from Paro
