A blend of past and present
An essential ingredient to any holiday in Dalmatia is a visit to Dubrovnik. So once in Split area, it would really be a shame to be so close and not see the Gem of the Adriatic, especially since it's a perfect destination for a day trip from Split or Trogir. This world-famous museum-city today is one of the most beautiful towns on the Mediterranean and a charming holiday destination. At the same time historic, chic and cosmopolitan, Dubrovnik is a town that blends past and present in its own special way, creating the most unique atmosphere. History is found on every corner in the bustling Old Town, now crowded with tourists and fans of the spectacular HBO series Game of Thrones, who wander the many stone-paved alleyways of Dubrovnik following the footsteps of Tywin, Cersei and Tyrion Lannister and other George R. R. Martin's characters. Thanks to the remarkably well-preserved city walls and numerous churches, palaces and fountains, any fan of the show can easily imagine King's Landing, with knights galloping up to its city gates or Lannisters plotting against the King Robert. Dubrovnik... once the independent Republic of Ragusa.. today one of the world's most impressive walled cities, a UNESCO world heritage site and world-famous Game of Thrones filming location.... Town of the remarkable historical and cultural heritage and a highlight to any trip to Croatia. Certainly not one to be missed!

What to expect
Our tour begins with a scenic drive along the winding Dalmatian coast, with stops at several viewpoints to enjoy some breathtaking panoramic views of the Dalmatian coastline and islands. Upon arrival to Dubrovnik shortly before noon, we will start the official guided tour with a local guide, finding more about Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The tour lasts for about 90 minutes, which is just about enough to visit the Dubrovnik’s main historical attractions. Our walking tour begins by entering the Old Town through the monumental Pile Gate, at the very beginning of Stradun – the famous Dubrovnik’s main street and popular promenade, polished by centuries of footfall. Our first stop is the Franciscan Monastery whose cloister is among the most remarkable sites in Dubrovnik and houses one of oldest working pharmacies in Europe, dating back to 1317 and operating for over 700 years. We keep on walking to the 16th century Sponza Palace, notable for its exquisite Renaissance portico resting on six columns, which today is home to State Archives. Our guided tour ends at St. Blaise Cathedral, dedicated to the city’s patron saint and protector. It was built on the ruins of the runs of a 12-th century church but than destroyed in 1667 by an earthquake, to be rebuilt in a Baroque style. Today it’s one of the city’s most popular places, perfect for resting on its steps leading up to the entrance. Having visited the Dubrovnik’s most famous historical sites, with our guide, you will now have some free time to explore the town on your own, discovering its hidden corners. Choose between climbing the city walls and walking the full 2km circuit, trying some authentic Dalmatian dishes in local taverns, exploring the Game of Thrones filming locations or enjoying a cup of coffee in one of the street cafés and soaking up the atmosphere of this unique walled city.
