The National Park can be reached by driveng about 4 hours from Manado. We will search for Sulawesi Black Pigeon, the elusive Sulawesi Ground-Dove, Yellow-breasted Racquet-tail, Bay Coucal, Green-backed Kingfisher, Sulawesi Dwarf Hornbill, and the simply stunning Red-bellied Pitta which is quite common here.
At night spotlighting can be very rewarding with Sulawesi Scops Owl, Sulawesi Masked Owl, and Ochre-bellied Hawk-Owl all recorded around the park headquarters. At Tambun we will hope to find one of Sulawesi’s most enigmatic birds – the Maleo. After exploring this beautiful park, our guide will take you to Lake Moat to enjoy the fresh surroundings. We will rest here for the night where your accommodation, dinner and breakfast has been fully prepared. The next day our guide will take you to Ambang volcano, where you can see the huge crater with its sulfur smell. Here you may wish to taste the delicious Kismis (black fruit) found plentiful in the surrounding area. We can take you back to your hotel.
Arrival in Manado, meet with your guide then direct drive (5-6 hours) to Dumoga Bone. Lunch enroute. Later after arrive in Kosinggolan check-in at Tante Mien homestay and dinner.
Morning and afternoon birding around Kasinggolan.
Early morning drive to Tambun for Maleo Birds and others. Afternoon birding around Tapak Kulintang.
After breakfast and we will transfer you to Manado or to the airport for your next destination.
