Dzongri-Goech-La Trek Tour

Package Overview

This is the Sikkim’s classic trekking region. Spectacular closer up views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and her subordinate peaks including Pandim and Kabru are the major highlight in this trek. From Dzongri (4,020 m), there are several routes further beyond with the trail to Goecha-La (6,000 m), the highest trekking point in the trekking itineraries of Sikkim.
Route

It starts with 132 km drive from Gangtok to Yuksom. Trek begins from Yuksom. Yuksom to Tsokha is 12km and may take 8-9 hrs. After a halt at forest log houses or tent at Tshokha, it is another 9km trek towards Dzongri, before trekking 8km away towards Thangshing. Thangshing-Samiti Lake-Goecha-La and back to Samiti Lake is 8km hard trail before trekking back to Thangshing-Tsokha-Yuksom.

Duration: 11 Nights and 12 Days
Highest Altitude: 5,000m.
Grade: Moderate to Challenging.
Best Time to Trek: March to June&August to November.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Gangtok to Yuksom

  After breakfast transfer to Yuksom (123 km /6hrs). Yuksom is the oldest capital of Sikkim. Overnight stay at Yuksom.

• Day 2 :

  Start trek from Yuksom to Bakhim (3005m/12kms/5hrs). Overnight stay at Tent.

• Day 3 :

  Trek from Bakhim to Dzongri (4030m/13km/4hrs).

• Day 4 :

  Trek from Dzongri to Tangsing(3800m/8km/3hrs).

• Day 5 :

  Trek from Tansing to Simiti Lake (4200m/8km/3hrs).

• Day 6 :

  Trek from Simiti Lake to Goech-La (5000m/14km/5hrs)and return to Simiti Lake.

• Day 7 :

  Trek from Simiti Lake to Tansing (8kms/3hrs).

• Day 8 :

  Trek from Tansing to Dzongri (8kms/3hrs).

• Day 9 :

  Trek from Dzongri to Toska (3710m/9km/3hrs).

• Day 10 :

  Trek from Toska to Yuksom.

• Day 11 :

  Drive from Yuksom to Pelling. Overnight stay at Resort in Pelling.

• Day 12 :

  Drop to Bagdogra Airport according to the schedule. Tour Ends.
