Everest Base Camp Trek is, without doubt, one of the most famous treks in the world. It takes you into the heart of the Nepalese Himalaya; with awe-inspiring views of many of the world's highest and most beautiful mountains. Everest Base Camp Trek is more pilgrimage then just a trek; some might even describe the experience as most exciting, thrilling, and most adventurous trek that goes beyond the horizons into a natural paradise of unparalleled beauty. This trek climbs the famous Everest viewing point of Kala Patthar (5545m); as well as going to the actual site of the base camp, below the tumbling Khumbu Icefall. Careful design of our itineraryis to ensure you have adequate time to acclimatize comfortably; thereby enjoying the trekking experience to the full.
After exploring the exotic city and having good rest in Kathmandu, we fly in a Twin Otter aircraft to the mountain airstrip into the remote mountain town of Lukla (9,350 feet) and begin the trek up the Khumbu Valley of the Himalayas. The views of the Himalayan mountains from Lukla on a clear day are spectacular. We follow an ancient route that will take us through many Sherpa villages, including the famous trading town of Namche Bazar; as well as visiting the beautiful monastery at Thyangboche. The trek from Thyangboche ascends slowly but steadily to Dingboche, Lobuche and finally Gorek Shep. It is mainly on good trails, apart from the last day up to base camp, advances above the tree-line which is on moraine (rug rocky ground). The trek to Mt. Everest Base camp continues to be one of our most rewarding journeys.
You can expect to trek for 4 to 5 hours each day, but some days will feel harder than others, depending on the altitude gain. Therefore, the trek is suitable for reasonably fit walkers. We stay in lodges for the whole route and in the spring.International Airfare.
