Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1, 400 m / 4, 593 ft).

Our representative will pick you from the airport and take you to our hotel and brief you about your journey then you are free to roam around the city and enjoy a lot in this historic city. You can visit Darbar square and Darbar Marg and the great Pashupati Nath Templeor you can also chill out in Thamel.

  • Day 2 : Kathmandu to Manthali by car. (5 to 6 hrs) with stoppage etc

Manthali, capital of Ramechhap District is about 132 km from Kathmandu. It holds lots of beautiful and eye-lashing pleasant scenarios. The drive from Kathmandu to Manthali is very beautiful; you will be crossing many rivers on the way. Reach Manthali and walk around the small town. Manthali Airport has a 518 m runway and is located in the banks of River Tamakoshi.

  • Day 3 : Manthali to Lukla by flight (2, 800 m / 9, 186 ft), then walk to Phakding (2, 652 m / 8, 700 ft): 3 hours.

Early morning, we will start our journey to Manthali Airport and take our flight to Lukla. This will be your one of the finest flying experience as you can see a lot of mountain top villages and chain of snow-capped mountains (on your left-hand side) and many lush green mountains with a lot of waterfalls from the tiny Dornier flight. 2 things are very thrilling in this plane, landing and take-off from Lukla airport it is a tiny runway on top of a mountain and the way the flights’ take-off and land are very thrilling (both for passengers and the viewers). You will arrive at Lukla within 20-25 minutes. Lukla is a nice cool place with a lot of restaurants and coffee houses you can have your breakfast here then we will start our trek to Phakding. You can see Mera-La Mountain which looks big from Lukla Street, look towards Lukla airport and you can see this spectacular mountain.
Lukla to Phakding trekking trail is beautiful and goes through many villages alongside the Dudh Koshi River. You can see a lot of Buddhist stupas on the way and a small monastery (on the right side) on a cliff which looks spectacular. Lukla to Phakding trekking is easy downhill trekking and takes 3-4 hours if you walk slowly. Phakding is a beautiful village situated on the bank of Dudh Koshi River and our hotel (tea house) is also situated on the side of Dudh Koshi. If you want, you can get down to this mighty river and touch the icy cold water directly from Khumbu Glacier.

  • Day 4 : Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3, 440 m / 11, 286 ft): 6 – 7 hours

Another spectacular day of trekking once we start from Phakding we will trek alongside the Dudh Koshi river and will cross the river on a hanging bridge after Phakding village you can see a tiny, beautiful monastery on the front mountain while crossing the hanging bridge. Now we are on the other side of the river and we will cross the same river 5 times in today’s trekking. After few distances, you will see a magnificent view of Thamserku Mountain and it looks big and stunning from the trail. You will cross many villages like Monjo, Jorsale, and other many small villages on the way to Namche. The last village before Namche is Jorsale and we will have our lunch in this village.
After Jorsale village we will cross 2 hanging bridges to reach Namche Bazaar the first one is a normal hanging bridge and very less height after this bridge we will trek on Dudh Koshi riverbed for a few distances and after some time the trail goes through edge of the mountain which is very narrow in some places you need to be careful as the Yaks and Mules doesn’t follow the rules (so be on the mountainside, not the riverside).
Once you cross this stretch you will reach the big hanging bridge, and this is the highest bridge in this zone. There are 2 bridges one above one in this place the below one is abandoned and the above one is functional. Crossing this bridge is very thrilling and you can see a small glimpse of Mount Everest from the middle of the bridge the very first time (if the weather is clear). This part of trekking is photographic heaven especially when you can see these bridges from the trail.
After this bridge, the trail goes through dense forest and it is the toughest part of today’s trekking as the trail goes uphill. After 2 hours of uphill trekking, you will reach a resting point where you will find toilets/restrooms and a few locals’ sale fruits and snacks also from this place you can see a much better view of Mount Everest and Lhotse. After this place, the trail is not that strenuous and you will reach Namche check post, from here Namche village starts but you need to climb many steps before reaching our hotel.

  • Day 5 : Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar (3, 790 m / 12, 434 ft)

Wake up with a mesmerizing view of Kongde Mountain which is just in front of Namche village. Our day starts with the colorful Namche main market for a while then we will hike to Namche Museum, on the way you can see Namche primary school. Namche museum is situated on top of Namche village so you can get a spectacular view of Namche Bazaar. Namche museum has a big flat ground, and the view of surrounding mountains are spectacular, you can see almost all the big mountains from this place and there is a big bronze statue of Tenzing Norgay which is built in 2016 add more sense to this place. A photo is must require with the Tenzing Norgay statue with the spectacular background of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
After visiting Namche museum and spending some time in Namche museum ground, then we will go for an up-hill hike to Syangboche airport, the high you go from the Namche Village the view of Namche Bazaar looks more beautiful. Once you reach the airport you cannot believe yourself, this is a big airport (non-functional, only use in an emergency) situated on top of a mountain with a much better view of all the same mountains that we saw at Namche museum. Then we will go to Everest view hotel which is just above the airport we will have a tea/coffee break here amidst the view of big mountains.

  • Day 6 : Namchi Bazar to Tengboche (3, 860 m / 12, 664 ft): 6 -7 hours

Today we will trek to Tengboche which is famous for its monastery and it will take 7-8 hours to reach including the lunch break. Today’s trek goes through few beautiful villages like Kyangjuma, Phungi Thanga amidst the great view of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other big mountains. Today we can see many tabletop villages including the most beautiful Phortse village. The trek is a moderate trek up to Phungi Thanga village and this is the last village before Tengboche so we must finish our lunch here as there is nothing available on the trail after this village. Today we will cross only 1 hanging bridge in Phungi Thanga after that it will uphill trek till Tengboche.
Once we cross Phungi Thanga the trail is completely uphill and goes through dense forest, there are two trails once you start from Phungi Thanga one is the main trail and the other one goes through the dense forest and is more beautiful than the main trail, but both the trails joined in a resting place before Tengboche and from here it is one trail to Tengboche.
Once you reach Tengboche you will mesmerize by its beauty this place having a big monastery and the view from this place is very spectacular the mountains look much big and beautiful from this place. Thamserku Mountain looks gigantic from this place. This is an incredibly beautiful place for photography also you can visit the monastery and be a part of their prayer.

  • Day 7 : Tengboche to Dingboche (4, 410 m / 14, 468 ft): 6 – 7 hours

Today’s trekking entire credit will go to Ama Dablam mountain as we will see incredibly beautiful and gigantic views of the beautiful Ama Dablam mountain. Ama Dablam which means mother’s ornament, and is one the most beautiful mountains in the entire Sagarmatha region, once we will start from Tengboche we will trek downhill towards Pangboche village. There are so many steps we will climb down once start from Tengboche and cross the Deboche village then we will trek the right side of Dudh Koshi River. After some time, we will almost get down to the riverbed and cross a bridge and this is the most beautiful place for photography. You can get a beautiful view of Mount Ama Dablam from the tiny bridge.
After the bridge, the trail goes uphill up to Pangboche village, Pangboche is a big village with a beautiful Monastry and the view of Ama Dablam is spectacular and gigantic from this village. After Pangboche we will trek on the left side of Dudh Koshi River and will reach Shomare village and have our lunch here as there is nothing available between Shomare and Dingboche.
After lunch, we will start towards Dingboche and you can feel the difference in this area as you can find the mountains become treeless. The trail from Shomare to Dingboche is an easy trekking trail only a small hike is there before Dingboche. You need to take the right diversion from the main trail and cross the Dudh Koshi River on a small Iron bridge and the other trail goes uphill towards Pheriche village. After the bridge, the trail goes a little uphill and then becomes flat until Dingboche.

  • Day 8 : Acclimatization day at Dingboche, Short Hiking

Dingboche is a beautiful village back side of Ama Dablam Mountain from here the view of Ama Dablam is completely different. But the view of Lhotse is incredibly beautiful from Dingboche. Today we will go for a small hike to the nearby mountain and the view from here is very spectacular.
From here you can see Mount Makalu which is the 5th biggest mountain in the world! Also, you can see many other mountains like Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Lobuche Peak, etc. After spending some time in this place, then we will get down to Dingboche village and take a rest in our Hotel.

  • Day 9 : Dingboche to Lobuche (4, 940 m / 16, 207 ft): 6 to 7 hours

Today we will hike to Lobuche via Dughla/ Thok La and the trail to Dughla is nice and flat. Once we start from Dingboche we will get a small uphill trail and after that, the trail is completely flat up to Dughla/Thok La. View from the trail is awesome especially the view of Mount Pumori (this is another beautiful mountain in Sagarmatha Region). After reaching Dughla we will have our lunch and then hike to Thok La Pass/ Lobuche Pass (few people say it Thok La Pass and few says Lobuche Pass) this is a particularly important small mountain pass as you can find 100s of memorials in this place which belong to climbers who died in many expeditions. The hike is strenuous after Dughla but it is not a very long trail once you are on the top you can spend some time here then proceed to Lobuche.
After the memorial place, the trail is flat up to Lobuche and you can find Khumbu Glacier on your right-hand side, but you cannot see it as a big wall is there alongside it (if you climb that wall then the Khumbu glacier will completely visible). After reaching Lobuche you can take a rest in the hotel or you can go for a small hike to the wall of Khumbu Glacier.

  • Day 10 : Lobuche to Gorakshep (5, 170 m / 16, 962 ft) to Everest Base Camp (5, 364 m / 17, 598 ft) and come back to Gorakshep: 8 – 9 hours

Toddy’s trekking will be the longer one as we will start early and reach Gorakshep then we will keep our stuff in the hotel have some light food then immediately start for Everest Base Camp. Once we start from Lobuche the trail is very flat up to some distance then we need to hike a small mountain pass and go a lot of ups and downs alongside Khumbu Glacier up to Gorakshep. In few places, you need to walk on the glacier, and you can see thousands of years old solid ice, once you get down from the rocky up and down glacier hills you will reach Gorakshep which is a flat lakebed. We will keep our luggage in the hotel and have some light food then start towards Everest Base Camp. The trail to base camp is quite like the trail that we just cross before Gorakshep, you can see a great view of Mount Nuptse on your right side and a spectacular view of Mount Pumori on your left, also a great view of Khumbu glacier.
You need to get down from the ridge to Khumbu Glacier as the Base camp is on the Khumbu glacier and the trail is not so good in this area as the trail shifting itself as the glacier moves so do not except a proper trail while going to Everest Base Camp. Once you reach Base camp you will find yourself amidst huge mountains and the feeling here is out of the world. The sound of breaking ice in the Khumbu glacier or an avalanche on a distant mountain is a different experience (please note the base camp is a safe place as this is situated quite a distance from the nearest mountains).
The Khumbu icefall starts just after the base camp and you will have a great view of the Khumbu glacier. If you are here in April and May then you can see a lot of tents spread across the base camp and all belong to climbers and their support teams. After spending some time at the Base Camp, we will come back to Gorakshep while coming we can take photographs with the famous signboard which says “WAY TO M.T EVEREST B.C.” which is quite close to our Gorakshep hotel.

  • Day 11 : Hike to Kala Patthar (5, 645 m / 18, 520 ft) and descend to Pheriche (4, 371 m / 14, 341 ft): 7 – 8 hours

The most important day of our trip is today we will hike to Kala Patthar and see a majestic view of Mount Everest. The hike to Kala Patthar starts just after Gorakshep and the trail goes uphill, but the trail is quite comfortable for a walk if you walk at your own pace then this hike will be the best hike for you. Once you go high on Kala Patthar the view of Mount Everest gets broader and clearer also you will find a humongous view of mount Pumori while hiking Kala Patthar.
Before the summit, you will find big rocks on the trail and you need to climb on these rocks to reach the top of the Kala Patthar. Once you are on the top then the view from here is magnificent! As you can see a gigantic view of Mount Everest and other surrounding chains of mountains, from here you can realize how big is the Khumbu Glacier is, also you can get a truly clear picture of Khumbu Icefall which looks much closer from the top.
You can tie a prayer flag here along with thousands of other tied prayer flags. Take some finest clicks of your lifetime and get down to Gorakshep. Do not spend much time on top of Kala Patthar as this place is much windy and do not go to the edge of it. After reaching our hotel we will hike to Pheriche, which is quite an easy downhill trek. Pheriche is a small settlement in a big flat river valley also a very windy place.

  • Day 12 : Pheriche to Namche Bazaar: 6 – 7 hours.

Today we will trek back to Namche Bazaar, the trek will be easy, after Pheriche we will do a small uphill hike and reach Pheriche pass then again, the trail will be very flat up to Deboche village. After Deboche village we will climb many steps to reach Tengboche, after that a downhill trek till Phungi Thanga. From Phungi Thanga the trail goes a little uphill then it becomes flat till Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 13 : Namche Bazaar to Phakding: 6 – 7 hours

Today we will trek back to Lukla via Monjo and the hike is moderate and most of the time downhill. After Namche Bazaar the trail is fully downhill up to Jorsale village then we need to climb few steps to reach Monjo. We will use the same trail to reach Phakding village.

  • Day 14 : Phakding to Lukla (3 hours)

Today will be an uphill trek before we reach Lukla. Once you reach Lukla you can celebrate your entire trip and relax sipping coffee or tea.

  • Day 15 : Lukla to Manthali by flight (20 min) and drive to Kathmandu (3 to 4 hours)

Today we will fly back to Kathmandu after a lifetime trekking experience. Once you reach Kathmandu you can relax in our hotel or chill out in Thamel Street.

  • Day 16 : Departure from Kathmandu

Check out before 11 AM. We will drop you at the airport based on your flight time.
